Alison’s Story

Site created on May 8, 2019

Alison went to the hospital a short 4 months ago with what I thought was the usual flu! That being said...she has been diagnosed with a rare disease called Ahus (Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome) that has caused acute renal failure.  With lots of visits to clinics for blood work...Retuxin (chemotherapy) treatment..many hospital stays and 2 life flights...she is headstrong on getting on a road to recovery through Solaris treatments and weekly infusions. We are new to this treatment and diagnosis and await positive results!  There is not a lot of information on her diagnosis so we are learning as we go on this rollercoaster of life.  This seems to be a viable option for her recovery so that a transplant or dialysis will be left out of the picture.

Good morning!  This morning we will be going in for the transplant!  My niece has started an account to keep everyone updated on the progress of both her and her sister.  Thank you for the prayers and kind words!  Here is the link to the new caring bridge account.  God bless!
