from Ali's' mom Michelle:
Ali update: we are excited to say that due to the amazing care she has received, she will not need to have skin grafts. This is a relief that even though she does have third degree burns that she is healing well enough that it won’t be necessary. She may need to have surgery later for her scarring, but that would be down the road a year or more from now.
She will be leaving the Neuro Trama ICU at St Anthony’s sometime next week and go to Marianjoy Acute Rehab Hospital in Wheaton. She still needs a lot of care, but is doing better everyday!
The doctor admitted that he didn’t think she would make it when she was brought in, but Ali is a fighter! She has gone through excruciating pain physically with all the scrapings she has had to endure and unexplainable pain mentally. I thank God everyday for her fighting spirit!!
Tomorrow is her 25th birthday and if you are going to visit her in the afternoon let me know, because we are going to have a little party for her 🙂
