“as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death.”

Alicia has been experiencing significant pain this morning. Pain in her chest and abdomen has been managed by medication and rest. Her appetite has been pretty weak as well.

None of this is unexpected. And all of it is overshadowed by Mom’s absence at home. Last night Alice rebelled at a glance when I approached her crib at 11pm, 2:30am, and 5:30am.  The 5 pound diaper estimate would have been good for the Price is Right; I certainly did not go over. And then the bath woke up everyone else, so...yeah...we started early today.

My mom has been great watching the kids today so I could care for Alicia at her parents’ home. We knew that the pathology report was imminent, and I think the anxiety was getting to us.

We decided to go into downtown Stillwater for a brief walk and then went for a drive around Scandia. It was there the doctor called.

Praise God, she went through all the differential diagnoses they had and said Alicia’s mass was none of them. Most included some form of cancer and this lesion was benign. In fact, the doctor said she’s only aware of a few in recorded medical literature occurring this way and she didn’t know much because she didn’t have much time to read up on it.

So this is the BEST news! Alicia’s recovery is pending still, but after that we can, Lord willing, move on.

Please pray:
-Praise! God has blessed us yet again with undeserved mercy.
-That our dependence on Christ would not wane because this trial will hopefully be over soon.
-That we can mourn in a God-honoring way what the impact of this surgery means to our family’s future.
- That we can resolve medical expenses without any challenges.
-That our children would see Christ’s hand at work in these last few months, and their faith and maturity would be strengthen.
