Latest Site Updates

Journal

Hello Family and Friends:
Usually it is Yuri who updates this site but today your are stuck with me, Stephen (the second son). As most of you already know, my mother Alice is now back home at North Shore Towers, Tower 2, 28G for anyone bold enough to visit.  She is pretty fully recovered from the dreaded virus and for this we are all grateful to the almighty and, once again, deeply impressed with just how tough she is.  If you are in need of reaching her, the most dependable option is the house phone: 1.347.235.0714. My mom does have a cell phone and that number is 1.516.849.3671 but it's the less dependable choice and she might not have it in hand until Saturday (my son Cato, the phone doctor, was repairing it and we only just mailed it back to her).  As for Milton, he is alive and doing better all the time.  He has been recovering from his bout of pneumonia and trip to LIJ at Margaret Tietz Rehabilitation in Jamaica, Queens.  It is just ten minutes away from NST Tower 2-- which would matter more if visitors were allowed.   Dad's hearing is not great and he has never been much with a cell phone.  It would be wonderful if you are thinking of him to write him a letter, card or a even a rhyming couplet or two.  I get a letter out every week in addition to our our video chats.  To write send post to: Milton Leist, c/o Margaret Tietz Rehabilitation, 164 11 Chapin Parkway #1, 11432, Room  532.

Finally, I am back in CA battling it out in the post-apocalypse economy but planning to come back to NY as soon as the coast is clear. Given the performance of our administration in dealing with this crisis, that should be no later than 2022. I endured 14 very-dull-days in quarantine in a cottage in Berkeley upon returning to CA before I was allowed to come back to my apartment Oakland.  Miraculously, the virus managed to miss me on my trip to Queens and LI and for that I feel just a little lucky. If you need to reach me best to email shleist@ppgv.net.  All the best.  Stay safe out there.  Stephen
