Alice’s Story

Site created on November 17, 2020

My mom Alice has so many family and friends who mean so much to her and her to them, I was encouraged to create a page for her.  My beloved mother fell Monday 11/16 and hit her head very hard.  She was taken to the hospital and has received wonderful care by so many amazing nurses and doctors.  Her brain has swelling and she had a very long seizure.  She has been pretty unresponsive since the seizure and is not doing well.  Her wonderful team at the hospital, many who know her and love her, have done all they can and we have decided to put her on hospice.  She will be going back to her assisted living, where they adore her, and receive hospice care to keep her comfortable.  She is not able to talk, but I will read her any comments placed here.

You know my mom and she would want me to tell you all THANK YOU for being so special in her life.  She has enjoyed every minute, as you know she rarely ever complained!  I will post any updates here.  With our world today of COVID, visiting will be very limited.  Thank you all so much for all of your prayers and positive thoughts.

Journal entry by Megan Connelly

Shortly after I posted Thursday’s post, mom passed peacefully. I was holding her hand the entire time.  Thanks again everyone for your love and support.
