Journal entry by Linda Highfield

Dear Friends & Family,

We are delighted to share the news that Al had a good report from the surgeon and we are flying home tomorrow!!!  Al will start PT in 6-8 weeks.  It will take a bit but we expect a full recovery.

So alas we will be leaving the French Quarter after 3 weeks.  We will miss having Po’Boys around the corner on demand, French Truck Coffee, pralines from Southern Candy,  the overwhelming smell of pot on every block,  VERY LOUD hip hop rap music from passing cars,  raw oysters in abundance, Charmin toilet paper at Jeanne & Alan’s apartment, trips to Rouses for groceries,  random music artists performing in the street (so good),  seeing local friends and family....,BUT we cannot wait to see our family and friends in Louisville....

We loved having Roy here ... he returned home yesterday... was a good playmate for Al!!

Family will be picking us up in Cincinnati.... hope there is room for us and our stuff....

Thanks for all of the support while we have been on Al’s vacation.....

Happy Derby Season!!
