I have exciting news!

I've been selected to be a model for "ART Bra Austin 2023."  It's a charity event benefiting Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC).  BCRC helped our family so much during our fight & this is a major fundraiser for them held every year.  I just got my fundraising page set up, so if you feel so inclined, check it out!

In other news, life continues at its crazy pace for the Marek household.  The kids are all older, Ayla turned 6 in October, Brandon 9 in December, Xander will be 11 in March & Willow is 2.5!  Between sports, school, "normal" sicknesses, and regaining some semblance of our "lives before" the last half of 2022 flew by!

All scans done in October came back clear & I had a scar revision surgery the day before Thanksgiving.  I have healed quickly and am close to 100%.  I have had to find a new Oncologist, as Dr Bala retired at the end of the year.  Many tears were shed at my last appointment with her.  I received my first (and last) hug and realized after leaving that I have STILL never seen her face in real life.  I'm not sure I'd recognize her if we passed in the store.  Finding a new oncologist also meant saying goodbye to the nurses on the chemo floor, as my new doctor is in a different location.  I have yet to meet with my new doctor, Dr Hellerstat, but she is one of the most recommended in the area by fellow survivors & Dr Potter (plastics) assures me I'll be in excellent hands.

I am set to see "everyone" this month .  I am currently set to be seen every 3 months, but that will stretch as long as everything continues to be clear!

Finally I have to pass along some not so great news.  2023 decided to start with a curve ball.  Rob was let go from his job on Jan 3 (his first day back from Christmas) and so he is on the hunt for a new opportunity.  Thankfully he is recieving pay & insurance through the end of January as severance, but as I'm sure you can already guess, we can't afford to be without insurance for long.  Prayers & connections would be very appreciated.
