We got Alec’s chimerism results today!! He’s 99% donor cells!
Overall he’s doing good but he is having some bothersome symptoms but nothing too emergent. He’s been having achy joints and muscles more prominent at night time, he’s been a little more short of breath recently, and he’s not been sleeping very well either. Which really sucks. He can get to sleep fine he just can’t stay asleep. No amount of chamomile or lavender is enough to get him through the night. He’s hesitant about taking sleeping aides because some of them have crazy side effects. Plus his doctor has been working on taking meds off his list so Alec doesn’t want to be tacking them on. We have been very limited on what we can even do in the rain because we can’t really go to public places and we can’t walk outside without getting soaked :/ so a lot of our time is spent at the hotel and at COH for appointments. We have been getting a lot of walking though because we started playing Pokémon go again. He’s been pretty active and his doc thinks the achy joint and muscles could be from excersise. He’s gonna run a PFT for his lungs and we are also gonna talk to Alec’s social worker for CBT because both Alec and his doctor believe he has PTSD from just everything that has happened this past year and a half. The PTSD could be contributing to his shortness of breath.
