Yesterday was disappointing. Since late February Alan has not been feeling at his best.  The scans in March showed his lymph nodes in his neck have begun to grow.  Dr. Ravi at MD Anderson decided that Alan should stay on immunotherapy because he believed that Alan was still NED.  After six weeks the scans showed a significant growth in the lymph nodes and an increase in the scalp size.  Dr. Ravi still felt that immunotherapy was the best choice and thought that six more weeks wait was in order to see if Alan's immune system would kick in and fight off cancer.  

Dr. Powers decided a PET scan was in order.  The scan did show the scalp had returned to normal; however, the cancer is growing.  He and Dr. Ravi spoke and now we have to wait on our insurance to approve the new chemotherapy drug.

This is heartbreaking; however, we know the Lord has us in His hands!
