Agnes’s Story

Site created on June 19, 2021

We've created this site to keep family and friends up to date on Agnes's condition. In March 2021, Mom began to have a number of physical issues that doctors were puzzled by. She had a wide variety of lab work and ongoing non-invasive testing, but nothing concrete came to the surface. Testing continued, but mom was losing weight. In late May she was hospitalized for a number of days due to her gradual decline. She returned home for five days and then was readmitted to the hospital again on June 10. This time, she was more significantly declined and very weak. On June 17, Mom moved to a care facility and transitioned from aggressive and investigative care to comfort care.

Journal entry by Nancy Halland

Dear Family and Friends.  "I thank my God every time I remember you."  Philippians 1:3

Mom and her family have appreciated all the kind words and love shared with her through this time in her life.  She is getting stronger and doing quite well.   Mom is looking forward to moving out of the hospice room at Farmstead into an assisted living room down the hall!  This means getting to have her own furniture and belongings:)   She likes to walk with her walker whenever someone can accompany her.   Mom has taken part in many of the activities that Farmstead offers!   She has played Bingo, gone to a tea party, attended church, and gone on a bus ride, to name a few things.   But best of all, Mom enjoys when a family member or friend stops by for a visit😀   AND she loves to text so you can keep in touch with her that way!

Since Mom's health condition has seemed to plateau, we've decided not to continue updating this site on a weekly basis.  If things change we'll be sure to post an update.

Rob and I actually took Mom for a ride to see the flowers at her house this week so I'll close with a few pictures.   Love Nancy
