Adrian has suffered with Epilepsy Seizures since birth. This has been a struggle for Adrian, his 2 sisters and other family members. Adrian seizures have gotten worse throughout his life hes had Pet Scan, EEG, Lab work, MRI and with no resolution. He's been treated and trailed with all sorts of medications, that enable him to just sleep. He is a vibrate, happy 3 year old who loves his life when he's awake. Adrian has those kind eyes that break your heart to see him go through this. He speech is limited to 8-10 words, limited to what he eats because the texture food he chokes on.
They started as Focal Seizures for couple years taking all sorts of medications that would enable him and just sleep. Now this past 1 year they become Generalize and going to Grand mal seizures. Adrian has been in and out of the hospital on all sorts of trial medications, tests after tests, pokes after pokes. He has just suffered so much in his 3 years of life.
When he is awake he is up playing with other kids. But his motor skills, speech skill prevent him to interact with children his age. Adrian state of mind is like a 1 year old due to these seizures. What makes him happy are the smallest things we take for granted such as: smelling the grass, seeing ants, birds chirping, playing with water, or just sitting outside and looking at the sky.
So today i am praying when he reaches the Mayo Clinic they can help him they are Adrian last hope in life. Adrian been to so many doctors, hospitals and no one cant seem to find what the actual problem is.
Financially, its been so hard for parents as mom can not work because Adrian gets these seizures more frequent and unresponsive. She also cares for her 2 daughters 8 months and 6 years old. Adrian father has to work 12 hour days 7 days a week just to support the bare necessities. He goes to work with no sleep so he can help his wife out, while she sleeps. Medical bills just keep pouring in even though he has medicaid there are medications that are not covered. The expenses of traveling to take him to every possible doctor or hospital to help him. At times parents need to borrow money from others because its just no enough what Adrian father makes. The government wont help this family because they feel making $ 35,000 a year for 5 is to much money. Now we all know that is not enough when you have medical bills, rent, food, clothing etc to provide. Adrian and his sister barely see their father because hes always working, sometimes he will do side jobs winter, below zero, hot no matter what condition it is outside hes out there looking to make money so he can provide for his family.
There's so much i can continue to say and never ends, so hoping and praying someone can help this family in anyway possible would be so appreciated. I would do anything for my grandson.
