Journal entry by Melanie York —
So Adam met with his oncologist and they informed him this is actually a bone sarcoma. Not so great. He has lots of appointments coming up so we are taking them as they come. He has a CT scan of his chest tomorrow to be sure he doesn’t have lung cancer which means he can’t be at Maggie’s birthday party and my dad will miss it too because he has to have a ride. 😢 I’m sure Maggie won’t care since she’ll be having fun but it’s so frustrating.
Adam will be starting chemo soon with 5 weeks on and then a break, surgery to remove the parts of the tumor that they can, more chemo, and then a second surgery to get the rest if I’m remember everything correctly. It will be a 12 week cycle including the break times from chemo. Hopefully, they’ll be able to repair the bone after that but there are no promises.
Adam really appreciates any of the visits, phone calls, or written contact he gets from everyone. Thank you for your prayers and kind words. This is super stressful but it is awesome he has this wonderful support system.
