Results are in!

MRI from last week is showing a very small portion of the tumour remaining. There is a long thin portion of the tumour remaining close to the brain stem. This was what our neurologist suspected based on how the surgery went. He knew he had to leave a small portion remaining because any time he tried to remove it her heart rate and blood pressure increased. He did not think it was worth it to remove it all together.

He says he’s seen it before where residual tumour like this has dissolved over time and he’s seen it where it grows larger again. He says sometimes it grows back a little but then stops growing all together. There is a 10-15% chance it will regrow back.

Thankfully, he said where it is it would be fairly easy to operate on, if need be.

She will continue her MRI scans every three months and hopefully over the next year if there is no change will then go to 6 month scans and then one day to only one scan a year.

We are so thankfully that everything looks well overall. He is happy with her progress and healing. We are slightly disappointed knowing there’s some residual tumour remaining but overall we’re celebrating!

I’m hoping MRI results will become less scary over time. But for now, we’re going to focus on the present and for all we have to be thankful for. Adalyn is healthy and back to her old self, with a stronger spirit than ever. This is a part of her story that she’ll take with her the rest of her life and I know, God will use it for His good!

This is likely the last post we’ll make regarding Adalyns health journey. Feel free to reach out directly if you ever have any questions or know someone else going through this.

We thank you all so incredibly much from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, love, food, gifts and support. We have been completely amazed by our community these last 3.5 months and couldn’t be more thankful for each and every one of you.

Thank you for being here 🤍
