Holiday Update: After a quiet Christmas with just the three of us enjoying cheese fondu, steak, and lobster, we are heading to UCLA Medical Center. Abby has labs and transplant clinic early tomorrow morning. So far her kidney numbers are fabulous and she has infinitely more energy. The team continues to adjust her meds to try to achieve the perfect balance of immunosuppression and overall health.
My focus is just keeping her healthy! We avoid crowds and those who might be sick. COVID, flu and other illnesses could definitely impact Abby’s progress. So while she’s had all vaccines and boosters recommended (as have we), Abby primarily hangs out at home. She’s bored to death and is anxious to see movies and go to events. She has her books and many streaming services but she misses talking to folks outside of her parents.
Prayers continue to be greatly needed and appreciated as we travel and navigate life. We hope you all had a beautiful Christmas and will have a blessed 2023. ❤️
