If you are reading this, you know I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer (invasive ductal carcinoma). I was officially diagnosed in August 1st.
My journey started in late June when I went to my yearly gynecologist appointment. During a routine breast exam, the nurse practitioner felt my left breast was heavier than the right breast. She didn’t feel any lumps but we decided to order a mammogram and ultrasound to be on the safe side. Both were inconclusive so their office ordered a bilateral breast MRI. I had that test done in Saginaw- Covenant. The very next day my primary physician office called and asked if I could get to their office in Pigeon to go over results of the MRI. That’s never a good thing.
The MRI showed a lot of red flags and my nurse practitioner said it looks like cancer. They already had an appointment scheduled for me the following Monday in Saginaw for a consult with a breast surgeon and for a biopsy.
August 1st, doctor office in Saginaw called me. All biopsy results were not in yet but they said I have breast cancer and it is in the lymph nodes.....
