Journal entry by Abby McCarrel —
Good morning, dear friends. I have that old familiar feeling of log leg. I am still very much better than the last hip replacement in terms of pain and mobility. I’m taking much less pain medication and getting around more than before. I am not overdoing it, for those of you who might be concerned about that. I simply am very grateful that my body is cooperating. I think it was a big help that I’m in better shape now than I was going into the first surgery. I had an amazing physical therapist to help me modify my regular exercise routine to incorporate more efficient physical therapy exercises. So, when I had it for my second
hip replacement, I was much stronger.
What still feels very strong is the love and support you are all sending me. I do not know how I would get through such an ordeal without feeling your strength and connection. Thank you as always for being on my team.
Blessings to all of you for the new year. May it be more than what we anticipate.
Love, Abby
