Journal

Good morning everyone. Thank you for your patience in waiting for an update. I know all of you have been praying for us and it is truly making a difference.
Here’s the rundown for those just joining the story:
(This is written by Megan FYI)
Last Thursday night Abbie began experiencing severe contractions and by early Monday morning, the decision was made to fly her to Wichita to make sure she would be near the NICU if she ended up delivering. She is currently 28weeks, so the main goal is to keep her pregnant for as long as possible. Monday was the hardest day trying to transition into a new place. Being on Magnesium for 12hrs (to slow contractions) really made Abbie sick and her migraine spike. After she was taken off the magnesium things began to improve. Yesterday she was stabilized enough to be moved from the labor and delivery floor to another room on the 4th floor. It is in Abbie’s best interest to be discharged from the hospital so she isn’t exposed to COVID-19. She is still dealing with extreme nausea so we are working on setting up a continued regimen of weekly fluids and doctor exams at a specialty clinic outside of the hospital. The plan right now is to be discharged tomorrow and Abbie will go and stay with Marty’s brother and his family so she will be in the Wichita area when she does go into labor. Her doctor is encouraging her to “stay boring and become a couch potato.” With that being said, we hope not to have to update you for several more weeks until she has her baby. We are so grateful for everyone’s continued prayers and for everyone’s generosity in making our stay in Wichita so easy.
