All my words fall short

I got nothing new

How could I express

All my gratitude?

I could sing these songs

As I often do

But every song must end

And You never do

So I throw up my hands

And praise You again and again

'Cause all that I have is a hallelujah

Hallelujah

And I know it's not much

But I've nothing else fit for a King

Except for a heart singing hallelujah

Hallelujah

Excerpt of “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake

Today I wanted to tell you why I’m grateful.

I’m thankful for all the love and support that Aaron and I have received since receiving his cancer diagnosis

I’m thankful for all the prayers that people have prayed for him, me and the girls during this hard time

I’m thankful for all the meals and gift cards that you have blessed our family with. They were so helpful in our time of need

I’m thankful for our neighbors coming to our aide and doing yard work/mowing our lawn/bringing us other gifts to show us support and solidarity in this. They reminded us that we aren’t alone

I’m thankful for my amazing coworkers that let me take random days off to get Aaron to chemo and doctors’ appointment. My job has been sooo supportive and the people there have made me love it that much more!

I’m thankful for a church family that has surrounded us with loving arms. They reached out and helped us in any way they could, making sure that we never felt alone.

I’m thankful for an amazing counselor at my daughters’ school that would check in on the girls and make sure that they were coping with everything ok.

I’m thankful for my Mom and Dad and my Aunt Barbara and Uncle Jeff for taking time out of their lives to come and help Aaron get to chemo treatments. I could never repay you for all the help you have given me.

I’m thankful for my sister Alison who not only did the caring bridge page for me but she also randomly brought us yummy treats. :)  (it pays to have a sister only an hour away)

I’m thankful to Aaron (my brother) and Stephanie (my sister) for helping out with the girls and just being super supportive of us during this time. Trying to help out whenever they could in whatever way they could.

Lastly, I’m thankful for a God who sees me. Sees me in my hurt. Sees me in my pain. Yet, He doesn’t keep me there. In that hurt and pain, He transforms me. He deepens my faith and He shows me that He is a good Father and that He is the God who heals yesterday and today.

I would like to formally announce that Aaron is finally cancer free. He had his CT scan on Wednesday and every trace of his tumor is completely gone! I can’t thank the Lord enough for this news. There are no words to express my gratitude to Him so I’m just going to say “Hallelujah”.
