Aaron ’s Story

Site created on September 11, 2022

I have been overwhelmed with messages so we are using this to keep family and friends updated in one place. I am still in shock that this is happening and concerned about all the kids, who are processing things on so many different levels. Thank you all for your love and support. Please know that we appreciate it, even if I am unable to respond to your messages. ❤️

On Wednesday night, September 7, Aaron was found unresponsive by Marquette University Police & EMS after my dad and I used the Life360 app to track his location. His blood sugar was below 20 and based on his last known contact with anyone, he could have been down up to 10 hours. He was taken to Froedtert Hospital and has remained unresponsive and on life support since.

Doctors believe he may have had a seizure that caused him to collapse and lose consciousness. He has continued to have unexplained seizures and has been maintained in a medically induced coma to help stop them.

The information we have gotten over the past few days has changed rapidly, but there are still more questions than answers. The MRI shows brain injury, but doctors cannot assess the extent of the damage until they can get him off sedation. They cannot get him off sedation until they can stop the seizures. And they cannot stop the seizures until they can figure out what’s causing them.

We appreciate everyone’s love and support. This has been incredibly emotional and difficult. We are blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.
