After a lot of back and forth he is being discharged today! The doctor said that with the way that his heart is functioning at the 25%-30%, the bypass would not do him any good compared to just putting in a stent. Out of the many blockages only one of them is salvageable for a stent to be placed.
From here on out, he will now be on a few different medications that will keep things pumping and stable to help him live a normal life. He will not be able to work until at least after the stent is placed (3weeks) and at that point he probably won’t be doing much of his usual tile laying.
This will be a huge lifestyle change for him including diet change and not being able to drink alcohol anymore. It will all take some getting used to but he is very motivated to get better and to stay away from the bypass surgery. We will post updates as we have them.
