My beautiful warrior is CANCER FREE!!! We received the results from Aaliyah's PET scan and there is no cancer in her body! This is incredible, almost unbelievable, news. Aaliyah broke down and flew in to my arms saying "Momma, I did it!"  There are no words to express how happy and relieved we are. If I'm honest, I'm still in shock over it. Her diagnosis was in February so her treatment really wasn't long compared to most cancers but it felt like an eternity. My girl fought with everything she had to beat this and SHE DID! No matter what was thrown her way, she took it with a smile and positivity. I never had any doubt that she would conquer this and come out the other side victorious. Hallelujah! GOD IS GOOD! 

Her scan did show a likely infection in her left lung which could have hung around through chemo due to her compromised immune system. The oncologist isn't concerned at this point and says it should resolve on its own. She will have a CT scan in a month and if the infection is gone, surgery to get her port removed will be scheduled.
