I know my fight has just begun, but I have never been so in awe of my army. On January 24th, I felt a lump in my breast in the shower. That turned into an office exam, which quickly became a mammogram, then an ultrasound, biopsy, MRI, pet scan and finally a diagnosis of Metastatic Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (breast cancer in the breast and lymph nodes). The pet scan showed that it had not spread past my lymph nodes, which most definitely was welcome news. I have a bilateral mastectomy on March 2nd and will start 6 months of chemo in April followed by radiation. Since I have been diagnosed, I have been I have been floored by the kindness, love and generosity of my tribe. I apologize for all the friend's and family that have seen me ugly cry this past month, but it is out of an overwhelming gratitude for you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that has made me feel like a cancer warrior princess. I feel like I can take this on because you are by my side
