In September 21, Madison was found unresponsive in her dorm room at St. Norbert by one of her suite mates. She was taken by ambulance to Aurora Baycare. They determined she had suffered a stroke from a blood clot in her brain and needed surgery to remove it. The surgery was successful however the doctor said the left side of her brain suffered a lot of damage.
