Hello to family and friends! Thank you for your support in this journey. We ask that you please keep Ed in your thoughts and prayers throughout his healing. Ed began feeling ill on September, 20th and received fluids via IV at Urgent Care a few days later. On 9/25 he was admitted to the hospital to be treated for a possible infection. The following day his condition became unstable and he was not able to speak and his fever spiked. Later in the week, a spinal tap resulted in a diagnosis of Meningitis, and just a few days later we learned that Ed's infection was caused by West Nile Virus (WNV).

WNV does not have a cure, meaning that the virus will need to run its course, before Ed is healthy. Although Ed has a long road ahead of him, the medical staff at Mankato Mayo are optimistic that he will recover. Please view this site for continuous updates on progress!
