On Tuesday, March 24 we found a lump on Declan's side while changing him. The Pediatrician sent us to Children's and imaging confirmed our worst fears. Declan was diagnosed with Wilms' Tumors. He has a large mass on his right kidney and two smaller masses on his left. This particular cancer is malignant but also responds well to Chemotherapy. Declan will receive a port on Thursday, April 2 and begin chemo in efforts to shrink these tumors so that their remnants can be surgically removed. He will undergo 6 weeks of chemo at a time, followed by imaging to monitor the size of the tumors. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we begin to fight for the life of our 7.5 month old baby boy.
