Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Today we need as many prayers as possible.
As many of you know, my mom Annabelle, has been suffering for the last 6 to 8 weeks with arthritis in both knees.  The last xray showed it as being chondrocalcinosis, which is crystalization within the joints of the knee which causes very bad inflammation around the tissue. Very painful.
Being the beautiful and loving person she is, she continued to put herself together every day to go be by our dads side while he was in ICU due to his stroke and is now in rehab recovering as quickly as he can to come home to her.
At about 2am this morning my mom took a bad fall and broke both of her femur bones. As she sat in pain waiting for the medics to arrive she prayed for God's help. She also prayed that she needed to be with dad at this time. She was in so much pain and I felt so helpless, it was a scary moment. I am grateful to our God for my brother Jeff,  who offered to stay the night just in case something like this would happen. Jeff, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I know mom feels the same.
The medics came and had to call for a second team to help. They determined the situation was serious enough to have air lifted by helicopter from Penn Highlands to Altoona UPMC. She is in the trauma unit waiting for surgery.  ALL the staff are amazed by her strength and quiet manner as she lays in bed answering all their questions repeatedly. She is amazing!!!
Jeff and I drove here which took about 1 and 1/2 hours and I was never so glad to see her!!!
I can tell you she is now as comfortable as she can be and has not complained once!!
The staff is doing everything they can and are very kind and sympathetic to mom.
I will keep you all updated.
Please pray for her and keep her in your thoughts. Much love to all.
