Ok Kody, I hate to hear that you were so upset on your first day of school. Sammi was the same way when she went to her first day of Pre-K. She just didn't want to go and I felt SO guilty about leaving her on the bus that day. But like your Mom, I got a call later on in the day telling me that Sammi was doing great and was enjoying her day. I hope your school days get easier for you, hon. You'll realize it isn't so bad.

Horseback riding sounds like tons of fun. Can you believe that I've NEVER been on a horse? I would love to try it one of these days, though. Any chance of us seeing some pictures of you on your horse? I bet you look absolutely adorable.

Kassi, hon, I hope you have a terrific year in Pre-K. What a big girl you are. And dance school too? Wow. Sounds like lots of fun.

Kody and Family-
I have looked at your sites before and can't believe how similar our lives have been. I also had twins(2003)-identical girls, Chloe and Ainsley-Chloe was born with hemimeg. Their pictures look so much like the pictures of your twins (in development.) She had a hemispherotomy at UCLA and are now dealing with rehabilitation, looking at a Hope from Horses program. You are a couple of years ahead of us and I would really like to get in touch with you. Also, you have much more definitive information than I have heard, but we live on the west coast and we may be a couple of years behind which is what I have been noticing. Kody looks absolutely wonderful and is such an inspiration for those of us looking for other families out there that know about this condition. Chloe was the only hemimeg case they had seen at the children's hospital closest to us where she was born. She has been the show monkey here for a while. May God bless your days as He has been. hope thing sare going well. my daughter was having rare seizures from a rare genetic disorder called,CDG. she wa sin hospital for 5 months trying to stop these cyanotic seizures(she would stop breathing&go blue/black.) it was horrible. she has been stable now for 3 yrs and is on lots of meds to help her with it. i'm glad your little guy is doing better. take care

So grateful that his surgery went well. I do hope that the pain stays under control, and that the muscle spasms leave!
It is hard on everyone when you have to share a room. I couldn't imagine leaving my little one at the hospital alone, no matter how young or old they are. No wonder the baby was crying.

Oh boy... What a bummer about the surgery. I can't imagine how it feels to see that sweet little guy who is so happy and know what he has to endure. Sometimes life is just not fair, but you are right, I know God will pull you all through this just fine. Jakes eye surgery is Monday and I am feeling very sad about it. It is just cosmetic surgery, but he still has to go through it and when they don't understand it makes it so much harder. Things all seem to work out it the end. I look forward to meeting you...

My name is Victoria Zicafoose. I too have a little girl Sarah who also needed brain surgery. She was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms at 4 month and had a right hemi at 8 months. She is on this website too.
She is doing super now. Sarah also has a twin Hannah.
I have thru e-mail spoke with grandma.. Randiscan. She is a sweet lady. I am glad we got in touch. It is good to know that that there is support out there and we are not alone.
Your son Kody is sooo handsome... so very handsome and he looks so strong and I am sure he is such a loving and wonderful guy. I hope some day our kids can me... that we all can meet. His sister is such a beautiful girl too.

That picture of you sleeping in your highchair is just too precious. Sammi never liked sleeping at night either, but she'd fall asleep in odd places just like you. I can't get over how much you two are alike.

Those kisses you're giving sound too precious! I bet everyone you give one too loves it. What a sweet, loveable little boy you are.

I wonder if you're having sleep/night terrors at night, which is why you wake up screaming so early in the morning. Every once in awhile Sammi will wake up out of a deep sleep and just start crying her eyes out for no reason. As soon as I go in there and rub her head for a little bit, she falls back to sleep and never remembers waking up in the middle of the night.

I know how hard all of these doctor visits are I go through them with my daughter and my 18 month old grandson Breydin (I call him "My Angel"). When we're not at the doctors we have 6 therapists coming to the house weekly. But everytime I hold "My Angel" and see him smile all the rest just doesn't seem to matter.

Hey Kody, You did have quite an Adventure. I am glad you were good. I am sure your mom and grandma are super happy you were good. Shunts are a pain but worth putting up with, you would not be quite the same without it. It can be scary with a shunt. I am glad you had it checked out. Did they check to see how much tube you have left for growth. Hey maybe you had a little kink in it and it got better. What ever the reason....aren't you glad they checked it out. I am glad they are taking such good care of you at school. You are super lucky to have a great school. I hope you are working hard at standing and stepping too. I do miss you...enjoy school and home....say HI to your mom and grandma. Thanks for the update...I am glad it had a happy ending I read as fast as I could to get to the end.

I might have to go to the ER tonight. David and Denise were fooling around and David put a wooden cylinder on his finger and Denise shoved it on. Now it is stuck!!!! We have tried every thing. We are waiting for his Dad to come home. He took Jacky to horseback riding...I am hoping he can cut it off....and save the finger or we will have to go to the hospital. UGH!...so far his circulation looks OK. TAke care and love Mary : )

Randi, Danielle is being watched by an endocranologist. (Please excuse my poor spelling) She is tiny and always has been. She will be going on growth hormones as soon as the insurance company gives the OK. It's possible the hypothalmous was affected during surgery which could have an affect on his growth. At least thats what they tell me about Danielle. I'm so glad to hear the he is scooting around. I hope Kassandra is feeling better and you get the asthma under control.
