"SUCCESS"

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

1803 - 1882

"To laugh often and much

to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children

To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends,

To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others,

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition,

To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.

This is to have succeeded."

update: Saturday Sept 7th, 2013 -

Kathy here.... thank you to my dear friend Angela and to daughter Joanne for her help in setting up and managing this caring bridge web page... I was quite overwhelmed at first with all of the medical and Dr. research and appointments that had to be done, so was a hard time to try to communicate and call those who care about me. Did we tell you that I had a medical team interviewed and selected within one week of diagnosis from the "bad word day"?

Thank you for all for your loving messages, words of encouragement and inspirational quotes and photos.. I have enough to post for a long long time, with more coming daily and getting entered in the "book, , I am saving and spreading them out to share with others over time...This has changed from a health care blog, to my personal page of inspiration.... both giving and receiving...

I love bring able to communicate updates and positive messages to all of you and I appreciate the supportive messages prayers and photos and inspirational quotes you are sharing... I think I am supplied well into the future to share your wonderful "words of wisdom" as I call them.... What a great vehicle for sharing. Please feel free to send messages and photos to my email, kathylovejarvis@gmail.com and I I will save and post along this journey and beyond......looks like I am a 'blogger' now... ha ha... Always said I didn't have time for that stuff.

As I said from the beginning, and it bears repeating, it was never "ME" it was "WE" from the start, Art is a very caring and supportive husband and partner with me on this journey. Our marriage is proving to be stronger than anyone knew.... we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in June, and are renewing our wedding vows in Hawaii this upcoming January 2014. We are looking forward to sharing many more travels, anniversaries and memories together....

We share humor and laughs EVERY day! as I said Humor is the best medicine.... Well at least for me, and Art and I share humor every day.

Thank you one and all,

with Love and Light,

Kathy

PS One of the most asked questions is "where did you get that cover picture of the silhouette picture of friends holding hands?"....

well, it came up on someone's Facebook one day on a post and I 'saved' right there and then to my "inspirational pictures" file months ago..... little did I know how apropos it would be....it became the perfect cover photo for caring bridge... so there you go....

I wish I knew who to give credit to, and I would!

Thanks for sharing each day with me,

Today is going to be a GOOD day !

In Love and Light,

Kathy

Intro to Caring Bridge my story....

I August 5th 2013, I was diagnosed with (GBM) Glioblastoma Multiforme, a malignant brain tumor. Art and I were faced with the very hard news and very scary words. My story is here to share with you all. From the first moment we heard the words, it was “WE” and never “ME”. Art is my partner, my husband and "My ROCK". We are facing this with positivity, light and Love from those who care about us.

Thank you for your love, your support. Keep sending your light our way.

In light and love,

Kathy

Journal entry by Kathy (Love) Jarvis

The Brain what an awesome instrument.
Kathy was diagnosed on August 5th 2013. She would have lived six years. She was a model patient. Nothing but smiles and cooperation. She had 46 days of radiation never sick, and joked about the band of hair She lost. She had one and a half years of Chemo no problem.  35 MRI"S (oh it's just another shunt). 20 Avastin treatments(shoot the juice to me Bruce) She died in my arms. an  honor I will always treasure. Kathy decided that there would be no funeral(I went to too many of them) She would be cremated and Her ashes to be scattered in the Pacific Ocean. Of course, I recommended Hawaii. But We found something that worked for us. Kathy was raised in Simi Valley. She went to Royal High school and Moorpark Collage. She was Ventura County. So Her ashes will be placed in the Pacific Ocean just outside of Ventura County. So someday ,maybe, Her ashes will wash back up on a Ventura beach.
I promise all that right now I am chocking up try to figure out a way to Truly Thank each and everyone of You for Your absolute love for Her. She righted my ship!
