Thank you Art for taking such good care of my friend. No words can express the heartfelt thanks for all your love and support, especially over the last six years. Our memories of her will help to keep her close in heart. She will be deeply missed. Kathy was indeed- A CLASS ACT! ...in every way...on every day! I am honored to call her my friend!

Can’t find the proper words to say how sad I am! She was strong for everyone around her, while I’m sure we all prayed for a miracle!! It’s just not fair! My heart goes out to you , Art, and your entire family. Kathy was my friend and a great lady!!!!!! Love Ellen

Like Mary Poppins, "practically perfect in every way."
Thank you Art for all you gave to my sister, all the happiness, the warmth, and security in life. I will never forget our younger times when we'd head to Ventura beach for the day. So much fun and so many bologna sandwiches (yuk). I watched her grow up as my 3.5 yr senior and do all of the big kid things I knew I wanted to do. She was my big sis and I adored her. The very next time I travel through Ventura I plan to make it a point to swim with her and be sure to be there at sunset, the time when we'd all pack up and head home to Simi.
You're a great guy Art and thank you so much for being at her side. I am so happy to have spent time with her 2 short weeks ago.

I was introduced to Kathy several years ago through June Simmons who had known her for quite a while. As I got to know her I thought is she always so gracious, is she always so warm and upbeat, yes she was. Always! Her talent, her ability to create a beautiful welcoming serene environment, her art (and her Art!!) were beautiful and truly created by an artist.
Her passing is hard to comprehend but her love and warmth will always be present. One can’t help but think of Kathy and smile.

Thank you for your posts, Art. She certainly was a model patient, and a model everything, really. Just as you have been a model husband and soul mate. In this time of great loss, I am reminded of Stuart Scott and his long battle with cancer. His words: “When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.”
You and Kathy certainly exemplified that and are mentors to all of us who have known you.

Thank you for your loving words, Art. Kathy was a dear friend who was always a bright light, full of cheer and warmth. I feel blessed that Gwen and I got to visit with Kathy just two weeks ago. She was so darling and chatty, and as designers, we of course talked about all the beautiful things she had done to your lovely home, both inside and out--all the details about solid doors, moldings, color palettes, and the like --just like we were on a job together! Thank you, Art, for being such a loving support to Kathy throughout her journey. Sending my love and prayers. God bless you.

Thank you, Art for this powerful summary, and for the wonderful love you gave to Kathy. As Angela said, it was especially meaningful to those of us who are in another city, and couldn't be there in person. We mourn with you on Kathy's passing, and also celebrate the exceptional human she was. She enriched all our lives, and set an example of how to live. Thank you for helping all of us in this journey...

Kathy was a special gift to us all. A true angel who is now in heaven. I'm so thankful, Art, that Kathy found such a wonderful husband in you. I have a lump in my throat and a smile on my face as I think about the great times we shared at Camp Warner and for many years after. Sending much love across the miles during this difficult time... XXXOOO
