Heavenly Father, You are intimately aware of the struggle that Jay's experiencing -- the pain and the despair. You know the desire of his heart to be healed of that illness. We ask now for Your healing touch. We know that You are able and that just like in Bible times, You can heal Jay.

“We also understand that You will chose what is best for him. We pray that through this trial, We will draw close to You -- that You will be his comfort and strength. We pray that ultimately, whatever happens, You will be glorified through him. We pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.”

We have help here at Soldier Systens Center to ask for help from our Lord and Savior Jesus, he is Tom Kean.
The same folks with whom we believe can "make the difference", well, helped my boyhood pals walk away from serious threats from the "medicos". I pray the same for Jay.
The request for help from Natick started Wednesday 28 Sep and are continuing. I'll have another Medugoria Pilgrim "on-line" soon (another Ret. Fed Emp ) Ben Berry definitely has shown me he also makes the connection.
Jay is not and will not be alone during this test for him and his great family. Contine to remain strong,

My heart goes out to you and your family for all you are dealing with. I am a retired rehabilitation and long-term care nurse, so I am quite familiar with your situation. I want to encourage you to further consider resources through home health and/or a skilled nursing home. Even though you have met uncaring staff members, there are many caring and capable RNs, LPNs, and CNAs who could give excellent attention and care and relieve you of some of the responsibilities for day-to-day care. I have worked with many outstanding nurses in my area, and I am sure there are kind and capable persons in your area as well. Interview directors of nursing, define your needs, and evaluate their strong and weak points. My last 5 years was as a supervisor in a 155 bed skilled nursing home, and we had several residents whose needs were similar to your son's. We had a strong staff and they found satisfaction caring for challenging residents. We were also the first facility in our area to admit very sick AIDS patients, because we knew our staff was capable of dealing with that. You will find that there are others who can help in dealing with your son's needs. I have another suggestion for you as well. Consider his having a colostomy or ileostomy. Talk to your surgeon, a rehab. specialist, an ostomy/wound care nurse in your hospital. It will simplify bowel care and greatly decrease his risk of skin break-down. I have experienced this and have seen the beneficial results. Please seriously consider this step. My very best wishes to each of your family in meeting the challenges you face.

Jay, I want to thank you for contributing to the freedom I and my husband have today. I appreciate the sacrifices you have made. I thank you for your strength and courage. My father is a Vietnam Vet who served 3 tours and was the winner of 3 Purple Heart Medals. He was shipped back to Walter Reed with shrapnel pressing on his spine which paralyzed him for 18 months, in a wheelchair for 18 months and then onto crutches for another 18 months. He was also told at that time he would never be able to father children, however, my younger brother and I are living miracles disputing that fact :). I have witnessed the nightmares my father has on a regular basis. The "hitting the deck" whenever a vehicle backfires. The drinking and the many forms of abuse as well, I'm sad to say. All remnants of his time in Viet Nam. I still love my father very much and I am still proud of his service to his country. You are very fortunate to have such a wonderful set of parents. They both love you very much. I, on the other hand am not so fortunate to have such a wonderful family.
Here is just a tiny glimpse into my life. I've been shot at, molested, raped as well as beaten up by my ex-husband. Not all of these things were done by my ex though. My parents have disowned me. My younger brother is now in prison for the next 25 yrs. for killing his wife when he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He has no recollection of incident at all. My children hate me and want nothing to do with me. However, I have God, my husband and his very supportive family on my side. I have now truly found out what true love really is and I can only pray that I will someday be half of the woman your mother is. All this to say that I am living proof that God does work miracles. Again, Jay, I am very proud of you and I now salute you. Thank you so very much!
To Mom and Dad, Thank you for your sacrifices and for showing true love. May God continue to bless you as you have been a great blessing to the rest of us. I will keep you and Jay in my prayers.

May God Bless and Keep You,
Karen

I read your story in my newspaper today. As I read your daily routine, it took me back to the days my husband and I cared for our paralyzed 34-year-old son. Unless you live it every day, no one can really understand what you and Jay are dealing with. You are correct, no one loves your son like you do. We tried having outside help and it was just not the same as the care we gave him. Our son passed away 8 years ago--2 years after his paragliding accident. I want to thank Jay for his service to our country. And I pray for all of you to find the strength you need to carry on day after day. God bless you!

Jay you are my hero and I thank God for your courage and strength, and for the sacrafice you have made for me to live in a country as free as I live in. Mr and Mrs Briseno what an amazing testimony of love, loyalty and sacrafice your entire family demonstrates! May God touch Jay and completely restore him. I do believe ALL things are possible through Jesus Christ, for there is nothing too hard for Him. Your family is trully inspiring, to be thankful for the time you have together even though it may not be a perfect situation is a lesson we can all take to heart. May God keep you all in perfect health, may He make His face to shine upon you and keep you in all your ways until the day Jay can see, talk and walk again!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, Eva! I saw your story this Sunday, May 9, 2010, in our local Charleston Gazette-Mail newspaper.
I jumped at the chance to wave "hello" to a fellow REDSKIN Fan! Oh, yeah!! I was born and reared on Georgia Ave, NW, near Walter-Reed hospital in D.C. I have a 29 yr old son and a daughter-in-law currently serving in the USAF.
Even more endearing is the fact, dear Jay, that you and mom Eva are my brother and sister-in-Christ. I pray God's continued grace, love and power will allow you to overcome every obstacle, any hindrance, every disappointment that chisels at your faith. May you be blessed by your Creator who saved you, who sustains you, and who gives you the victory through his Son, who conquered death and the grave for us. To him be the glory for ever! I love you both!!

Thank you for sharing your story of your son, Jay, and the journey that all of you make every day. We often wonder why God gives some of us jobs like this, and others don't know what it is to really care for someone completely and entirely. Our family has had its successes and its losses in this war and other wars. We lost our family member in Afghanistan in 2001. Now there is a camp there named for him. We have other family that have come and gone in these wars, and our friends too. They are our family as well. God doesn't put anything in our lives that we can't carry. He also puts people in our lives to remind us of that. You are some of the people that God uses to remind the rest of us that the small burdens we fret over aren't worth the more than the trouble it takes to set that suitcase down and walk away from it on our own power. And God gave us you to show some of us just exactly what unconditional love really is and the dedication it takes to bring that to life. You pull the fabric of family knitting so tightly together and find strength in that. You are a blessing to others, whether it be those in need, or those who have and need only a reminder to set them back on the right path. God Bless your family, God Bless your endeavors to help other young men who come home from far away lands to a familiar home, and not be able to see it, hear it, walk in it, function in it the way he did before he left. Thank you again, for your courage, patience, and your caring in that you share your daily battles with us and allow us to see, maybe when it counts the most, the costs of the freedoms that we enjoy and the men and women who maintain those freedoms for us. God Bless the U.S.A, God Bless our Flag, our Military, our daily lives. God Bless you, God Bless Jay. Give him a hug from a very large family here who is grateful to him, and very proud to know his name and his story.

I read the story of how you are taking care of your son and I was moved to tears. Your commitment and love are incredible. In this world were so many people discard healthy children because it is inconvenient to care for them (look at the number of childeren in foster care) it is incredibly encouraging to see the depths of your loyalty, love and devotion. I am a 100% disabled veteran and I have not been in where your shoes have traveled but I received my injuries also on Active Duty in Vietnam Era, I deal with the trauma and knowledge that has lead me to where I am today, and as I always tell everyone, you have to keep on trucking with the spirit of thou Holy Father with you and he will guide you through the roughest spots in your life. As was spoken, you can walk a mile in your shoes and never see my footprints but they are there as I walk in the same shoes as you. My prayers are with you my brother.

Hi Joseph, Eva Marie, Jay(Briseno), Sherilyn & Malerie,
I have never forgotten about Briseno and I do continue to pray for his full recovery and for all of you. God can do anything…to include giving your son and brother back to you whole. My desire is to come to Tampa and visit him soon. Your son is a wonderful sweet young man and I just believe God is going to heal him. Stay encouraged and be blessed. I served with Briseno in Iraq and I feel honored to have met him. I will keep in touch and know I am only an e-mail or phone call away. 850 377-7279.

To The Brisano Family,
Thank you for the update of Jay. I am glad to hear he is making improvements, no matter how small. As you know, my son Jason has also been trying to come back from a TBI. His was not in the service, but happened when he was 5 years old. This past year he has made some improvements, but also had his downfalls. 2009 we are starting the year with a new surgery. Hopefully we will have some good news to report afterwards also.
God Bless Your family for staying together and staying by Jay's side through everything. You have done more than Jason's dad could handle, but I am vigilant in using you as an example and standing by through thick and thin, to keep Jason's spirits up and keep him moving toward independence and life!
Thanks for letting us into Jay's life by keeping us updated.

Hanga ako sa iyong katapangan, pag-mamahal at lakas ng loob. Kaya ipag-darasal ko na pagkalooban pa kayo ng Diyos ng marami nito.

Merry Christmas to Jay and his family. I've been in touch because of Fred Kawa in Brockton, MA telling us about Jay. How I understand those hours waiting in a hospital to hear Jay's condition.
We did the same, when my daughter, Lori, at age 39 years old died from cirrhosis of the liver. Her father died the same way in 1985 at 45 years old.
I'm completing two books about our lives behind closed doors living in an alcoholic family.
Visit my site, www.ahealingheart.net, I have sites for veterans on it because my dad, Albert L. Gramm, was a retired Brigadier General, who was one of the commanding officers for the 26th Yankee Division in WWII. He fought in Lorraine, Metz and the Battle of the Bulge.
This is why I feel for your whole family and admire the love you have for Jay. Every moment with our loved ones is cherished beyond words.
Jay's world may be struggling to communicate but not with the knowledge on how much he is loved.
Bless all of you!

Jay,
I wear a tattoo on my right arm with the fallen soldier memorial, and it says "all gave some, some gave all." This is for you and all my brothers that have been wounded or KIA in this politician's war. Also behind it flies our flag, which I will fight for, just like you, for the right reasons, because we are American soldiers. This is my third and final deployment, and I've been fortunate so far. I have read your story, and can say that you are not alone brother. Keep fighting, stay Army strong. Best wishes.

Kuya Joe, It's good to hear that Jay is doing well... We've been planning to visit there since last year but I was called from the waiting list kidney transplant on Dec. 12, 2006. This is significant from me since this is the day that God has given me my second life. This is a true miracle and God will always be with Jay because Jay had given people so much hope and courage to stay on. Remember that Jay and the the rest of the family will always in our prayers. I look forward to see him soon. God never gives you anything you can't cope with.

Although we have worked together and I knew you had Jay at home I never had heard his story so I thank you for sharing it with all of us. Your family is an inspriation and a confirmation that LOVE is the key ingredient that supports medical science. Without your persistence and dedication to your son, he would not have made the progress that you are seeing. The road ahead is still long and difficult but Jay has the best medicine possible at his side everyday.
Please let me know if we can support you in anyway to alleviate some of your worries.

Briseno family,

My faith for Jay's healing is very strong, I've been miraculously healed several times in the last 30 years, and am in great health, even as a senior citizen! I had mentioned before the miracles started 20 yrs ago, but after thinking about it, it was 30 when the adult miracles occurred, and many more as a small child. You know that God wants us totally whole and that is what my prayers for Jay are, nothing less than complete healing, because God desires nothing less than wholeness, so He alone will provide! FAITH - just remember always, "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1.

It is wonderful to hear of Jay's progress, I'm believing this is just the beginning, there will be so much more to come, and we will continue to pray!

God bless all of you, and may God rain down upon you His richest blessings and give you His peace that passes all understanding.

In His Love & Compassion I stand with you all!

Joseph and Family,

We grew up in a country (PHILIPPINES) where honor, commitment, love to God, Country, and family deeply rooted in our culture. We served and fulfilled our obligations as US servicemen and women. We all enjoy the freedom and independence handed to us Filipinos by this great nation "America". We honor them as Immigrants and became part of this great nation's history; ULTIMATE sacrifice to obtain and maintain everyday living without fear; and it is called FREEDOM.

Today, Fouth of July we honor Jay your son as the ultimate sacrifice for the true meaning of US Indepenence. On behalf of my family and friends to your family; WE THANK YOU THE BRISENOS AND WILL ALWAYS THINK OF YOUR FAMILY IN EACH DAY THAT WE ENJOY LIFE FREE OF FEAR.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.....the rest is history. God Bless you and your family, we will always pray for you and you son Jay.

Dear Jay,

On behalf of your father's high school class, Cavite National High School Class of 1976, I have posted a FREEDOM page honoring you son as our hero.

We have included your sisters photos of you that includes their testimonial of how much of a hero you are to them.

Your Freedom page also includes the 2005 PBS news hour video segment where the story tells how you and your family's love and faith which keeps all your hopes alive... It is now serving such a great inspiring example to us and we want to shout out to the world how great you are to have served and sacrificed so much for our freedoms we enjoy today. Thank you Jay. Healing powers of our sweet Jesus be with you always. We love you.

Jay has been in my mind and prayers since Tata shared the Jun 24 TAMPA article of Jay’s courageous story.

Joe, I will never forget that during the time my daughter’s own 2005 episodes with the adult sudden death syndrome which resulted with Jenylyn getting the pacemaker/diffibulator implant… two years ago Jenylyn went thru that surgery and recovered well since. Two years ago, you Joe assured us your prayers included Jenylyn. Two years ago Joe, you gave no indication what was going on with your own family. I realize now that as you helped me thru my own family crisis – that for the last four years the Briseno family crisis continues on with such inspiring hope, courage, faith, and love for family.

I will always be grateful for your prayers for Jenylyn Joseph... I will always keep our courageous hero Jay in my prayers.

Love, Jocelyn

Jay and Family:

Sorry I haven't been in touch lately - so little time to do everything I have to do!

I'm currently in Australia at the moment (June 13-July 6) and will come to see the family once I return.

I am so glad to hear that Jay is doing so much better. Hopefully the small setbacks will be easily overcome - I know my man Jay will do even better.

Jay: if there's something you'd like from Australia, please let me know. My regular email is race_fa@hotmail.com, and I should have access to email sporadically through the end of my stay here.

My unit is currently in training with Australian forces, US Army, Navy, and Marines in Operation Talisman Sabre, near Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. It should be a lot of fun, though the weather is not that great right now - really rainy and cold (it's now winter down here!)

Hope to see everyone soon!

HI Jay,
Fred Kawa from Whitman, MA sent me your website. It came in the right time as four published authors, along with myself, are sending books over to our troops in Iraq tomorrow from the Lakeville Public Library. So far, we have over thirties authors who have joined us. Each of us are sending 10-25 of our books and they will be autographed.
We want our troops to know that people back home are thinking of them. Maybe reading the books will bring them laughter and help develop imaginations to take them away from the war even if it's for a short time.
We are so proud of you Jay and all our military forces. I will keep you in my prayers.

You were my art student at MPHS and excelled in art as I am sure you excelled in the armed forces. You were a wonderful student; one of my best. Thank you for all you have sacrificed. If there was one thing I could have the power to do right now it would be restore your health. We speak of you fondly at the high school to this day. May God be with you and your family.

Dear Jay,
I am also an employee of Northrop Grumman and am so very proud to work for a company who supports our troops in every way. My son is on his second tour, first in Iraq and now in Afghanistan and I know the hardship that you and your family have had to endure and want you to know that I am praying for you and all of our military on and off the battlefield. One of the things that I would like for you to always keep in the back of your mind "Every day in every way I am getting better and better". Never give in and never give up. God is always with you each and every day in every way. I love you and most of all God loves you.

Dear Jay and Family,
It is an honor to "meet" you in these pages and pictures so lovingly posted by your family. Your courage and determination are inspiring. I was guided to your site and story by Anna Frese, sister of Eric Edmundson. Sgt. Eric Edmundson is my niece's husband. Your father visited with Eric and TeamERIC, as his support team has been knighted, while he was at Walter Reed. Your service to your country could not be greater. Your story and the messages of love and support show that your strength of character is inherited, solid and steadfast. Please continue to progress in gaining strength of body to match. It is obvious that you are a tough young man, a stalwart soldier, and a much-loved young man.
Best wishes in your recovery.

Jay, You are one of many who deserve a pat on the back. Without you and others, we would not have our freedom. I wish you all the best and pray that you will be healed, if not physically, then mentally. I have no idea how horrific it was or is over there, but I am sure it is hard to deal with. Hey Jay! I'm glad to hear that you finally got that van. I'm sorry that I wasn't around to go for a ride with you though. I'm here in Kuwait now. Things are colder here than I thought they'd be. I get on the internet everyonce in awhile so I hope to keep up with your progress. I've found out recently that my stay down here before I head up north to Iraq will be longer than I originally thought. In a way thats good but I also don't like that I won't be doing vehicle recovery while I'm here, but I'm dealing with it. Well i gotta go I'll try to write more later. Take care my friend

Wow. You have been through a lot since the last posting. I'm glad to see that the American Legion is attempting to help you and your family since the VA won't. Sounds like the renovations are going to be pretty nice. The "elevator" will be nice for you to get around more. Won't it be nice to take a real shower? I'm glad to hear that you are doing better. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I will be home again hopefully for Thanksgiving, if not Christmas, possibly earlier depending on when I have ankle surgery. I recently read the LA Times story on SPC Briseño and was compelled to contact the LA Times reporter who wrote the story. I'm ashamed to say that I had no idea there was a badly wounded soldier in my own neighborhood and that I had to find out about it from a newspaper all the way across the country. I am thankful that the reported was kind enough to put me in touch with the Briseño family after reading the LA Times story.

As 2nd Vice Commander of the (Robert V. McMaugh Memorial) American Legion Post 10 in Manassas, it is my duty and obligation to contact the Briseño family and offer whatever assistance SPC Briseño and his family may need. The American Legion will do everything in its power to fill the needs of a fallen patriot (that happens to be my email name in Welsh, by the way!). From VA benefits issues to special personal needs, Post 10 will find a way to make things happen for this honorable young man. The disgraceful treatment of SPC Briseño at the hands of the VA cannot be ignored after the sacrifices he has made and the struggles his family must endure.

I myself was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and returned in June 2003 and will be redeployed in early 2005. I know fully well the dangers of combat as well as the support from back home, and through the American Legion, I am committed to continue that support whether I am in garrison or on the battlefield.

Please feel free to contact me at any time; I would greatly welcome the opportunity to meet SPC Briseño and his family as I live right in Old Town Manassas. I can be contacted at 703-376-2837 (work), 703-850-2061 (cell), and at American Legion Post 10 in Manassas at 703-369-4900 and by email at gwladgarwr@hotmail.com.

To SPC Briseño: there isn't much I can say except to thank you for your service to your country and your bravery in a most difficult situation. As a Marine and a proud Legionnaire, I am committed to do what I can to see that you receive the care and resources to which you are more than entitled.

Best wishes to the entire Briseño family.

Sfc Humphries, I just want you to know my Blessings and prayers go out to you and your family. I took care of alot of soldier's in Baghdad, who sadly were alot like Jay. I alway's wondered what happened to these Hero's after they got back with their families. Now I can see what little after care the VA renders to our soldier's once the chain of command and General's say great job to any injured soldiers. Keep your spirits high and if there is anything you need from this clinic to help alliviate some of the stress in your families daily live's, let me know. I just want to make a difference by helping to open some door's than the run around your family has encountered. God Bless You and your Family.

Dear Jay:

I read your story in the L.A. Times last Sunday and it broke my heart. How can we Americans ever thank you enough for your sacrifice? May the Lord surround you with His deep love all the days ahead.

I talked to your Dad this morning about Joni & Friends, a Christian organization which provides support to people with your disability. Joni E. Tada, the founder, is also a quadriplegic whose deep faith in the Lord makes it possible for her to help others. I hope that they can be of assistance to you and your family. In the meantime, I will keep you and your dear ones in my daily prayers. Remember that the Lord's grace is sufficient for you and His power is perfected in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Words of Widsom

A family altar can alter a family.

A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.

Don't put a question mark where God put a period.

Don't wait for six strong men to take you to church.

Exercise daily ... walk with the Lord!

Give God what's right, not what's left!

Give Satan an inch and he'll be a ruler.

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

God grades on the cross, not the curve.

God loves everyone, but probably prefers
"fruits of the spirit" over "religious nuts"

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

Having truth decay? Brush up on your Bible!

He who angers you, controls you!

He who is good at making excuses is seldom good for anything else.

He who kneels before God can stand before anyone!

Kindness is difficult to give away because it keeps coming back.

Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory capacity.

Never give the devil a ride! He will always want to drive!

Nothing ruins the truth like stretching it.

Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.

"Pray" is a four letter word that you can say anywhere.

Prayer - Don't give God instructions - just report for duty!

The Will of God will never take you
where the Grace of God will not protect you.

This Church is "Prayer Conditioned"!

To be almost saved is to be totally lost.

WARNING: Exposure to the Son may prevent burning!

Watch your step carefully! Everyone else does!

We don't change the message, the Message changes us.

We set the sail; God makes the wind.

We're too blessed to be depressed.

Wisdom has two parts:
1. Having a lot to say
2. Not saying it

Worry is the darkroom in which "negatives" are developed.

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the coffee...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, " I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things-your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions-- things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else-the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal."

Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Someone used to say that what's important in life are not the things that happen to us, but what we do with the things that happen to us. Jay's family is turning what happened to him into a lesson of love, hope and belief. This is so beautiful, I wish everyone could face things this way, supporting each other, showing love and comprehension instead of becoming rebel and hateful. The world would be such a better place... Congratulations for what you are doing and I wish you strenght. You are all enlightened people, I'm sure the best is reserved for you.

Aye Jay!! Honestly I hate writing E-mails and letters but, for you I will do anything. I'm so sorry I didn't contact you sooner but, my dad just passed away at the same time I found out about you. I've been praying for you since then.
I came to see you the other day. I just finished my tour in Iraq. I was over there for a whole year and away from home for 14 months. Your dad was nice enough to talk to me and help me keep you company. That day I saw you I couldn't stop thinking about my dad. If you ever need anything just let me know. I'm moving to North Carolina on Friday. I'll try to come back and see you before I go. Take care of yourself. I'm glad to see your still fighting.
Your friend,

Jay, I'm so glad that with each time I see you, you improve immensly. The smile that you gave us when you tasted the first real food in seven months was the best thing that I have seen since you left the U.S. I had never seen such a beautiful smile over something as simple as ice cream. Some on up there really likes you. May God keep you safe and help you recover quickly. I am stationed with a friend of yours (Jacqueline Gonzalez), she told of your tragedy and I was deeply moved. I want to wish you a speedy recovery and let you and your family know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I want to personally thank you for all that you have done for our great nation and to inform you that the sacrifices you and your family have had to make during these trouble times are not forgotten by your fellow soldiers. Most citzens in the USA can not imagine what it takes to be an American soldier and the hardships that are so common with the the job, we do it not for fame nor money but for patriotism and honor that we have for our nation and those who live in our boundries and those who gave the unltimate sacrafice to defend this nation to preserve the freedoms we have today. Take comfort in the fact that I and many other Americans thankful for all you have done for us. Once again you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you a speedy recovery and hope one day I will be able to introduce myself to you. I would be honored. God Speed.

To Joe, Ate Eva, Jay, Sherilyn & Malerie,

It's hard for us to write how we feel about what happen to Jay, but deep within, we are hurting same as all of you who care so much for him.

We hope all of you remember some phrases from "Footprints in the Sand"...

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

God Bless and keep in mind that there's always a special Angel watching over Jay's shoulder.

I wanted to tell you that my family and I are praying for his speedy and full recovery. Please tell him that we are keeping him in our thoughts. Jay, thank you for your sacrifice to this country. It is because of people like you and my fiance (Will Haines, 3rd Ranger Batt.) that I am able to sleep soundly in my bed at night. Thank you for what you have done. We are so proud of you.
