Greetings! It’s very cold out here in the Washington DC area and so does our Washington Redskins which are no longer in the playoffs race this year, oh well maybe next year again!

Wow, it’s now over a year since the last time I updated Jay’s web site, time flies very fast. Well, we are very sorry for not providing up to date information on Jay’s condition to our friends and relatives.

Well, since Christmas is around the corner, this is our gift to you, Jay’s current medical condition and plan for next year.

Anyway, for the last twelve months or so there were so many ups and down transition in Jay’s life and in the Briseno’s life as well.

One great transition was when Jay came home from the rehabilitation in James Haley Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tampa, Florida in May 2007. He was able to eat (puree) any food thru his mouth 2x every day, his cognitive was getting better, weaning-off the ventilator and speaking valve training continues at home…it was up, up, up for him.

During this past year, we have experienced extensive stress. In the Fall, Jay started having multiple seizures everyday, insomnia “up to four days without having any sleep”, he quits eating, weaning-off the ventilator and speaking valve training stopped, infections after infections, and his cognitive reduce tremendously down, countless trips to emergency room, and many other medical issue take place. Difficulties and worries may have contributed to a sense of hopelessness and stress. But we must not anguish!

At one point, Jay was taken to Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington DC. It was a hard experience to us because it brought back bad memories; refresh old sour wounds, and flashback when Jay was freshly injured and fighting for his life in June 2003.

The bad memories continues in the waiting room, other family members like us wait long hours patiently for a doctor’s update and also give us a go signal to visit our love ones in the room. It’s almost the same scenario back in June/July 2003, family members and friends spend long hours waiting tirelessly to see their love ones, praying, and hoping for the best. Thanks to God, everything went well with Jay; he was released from the hospital to go home.

Just recently we made a decision a plan to take Jay back to Tampa, Florida. It’s time for a skilled doctor and Specialist to see Jay again, hopefully Tampa will able to give him back the quality of life he has lost this year. In March 2009, we plan to take Jay back to James Haley Medical Center in Tampa, Florida for another rehab.

Jay still has a long way to go to make a full recovery, but he has also progressed more than doctors ever thought possible since he was injured. Jay remains a C-3 quadriplegic who is paralyzed from his chin down. He cannot eat, move, speak, see, or breathe on his own. Although Jay is conscious, his ability to communicate is severely limited – he can only blink, smile or grimace in response to voices, sound, and other noises.

Our Christmas message to you is…

If you wake up this morning with more health than illness, can breathe on your own, can log-on to your PC, can sing or listen to Christmas carols…you are more blessed than the millions who will not survive this week.

If you can read this message, you are more blessed more than two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

On the first Christmas, the Son of God was born in Bethlehem, but today, this Christmas, he desires to be born in our hearts.

Lastly, we will close by just wishing everyone a blessed Merry Christmas, a happy New Year and thank you for supporting the Briseno family “Joseph, Eva Marie, Jay, Sherilyn and Malerie.

Greetings! The heat is slowly going away in the Washington, D.C. area, cool air is making its slow entrance which reminds us that winter is around the corner, and my Washington Redskins still have a chance to make the playoffs this year! Regardless of this year outcome for the Redskins season, they still deserve one big hooah!

This is a short update on Jay's positive progress and thanks to God no more setbacks.

Last Friday, 11/02/07, Jay visited the Washington, D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center for routine appointments.

One by one, doctors and specialist took their time to examine our Jay, and overall results, Jay is doing very well.

To our friends who are endlessly supporting us with love and prayers, we cannot thank you enough for your thoughtfulness as we deal with this thorny period in our family’s life. Your support, love and prayers are deeply appreciated.

I have been actively member of Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, if you wish to help our Jay, many disabled veterans, and many people who have paralysis or other diseases, please join and become an active member of the foundation, here is the website http://www.christopherreeve.org/

Good Morning America (GMA) shows Reeve children work for a cure, mentioned Jay's name, to view the video, see link below.

Rap singer Eminem sing the song title ‘Lose yourself’, the lyrics reminds me of the decisions I made for the last four years, the lyrics goes like this…

Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted-One moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?

On Veterans Day, the Briseno family would like to share with you to reflect some memorable moments of over four years giving care of our Jay, five different hospitals, met numerous wounded warriors/family members like us, and countless 911 calls from home.

This is how the war impacted our lives and many other lives. When a soldier gets injured in the war, the family of that soldier also suffers.

...to think of my Jay

I would like to ask everyone in the room to close their eyes.
I would like to ask you all to imagine yourselves next to a hospital bed…
and then imagine that in that bed there is a Soldier…

Imagine that this Soldier cannot see…
Imagine that this Soldier cannot walk…
Imagine that this Soldier cannot speak…
Imagine that this Soldier cannot feed himself…
Imagine that this Soldier cannot bathe himself…
Imagine that this Soldier has one leg…
Imagine that this Soldier has no legs…
Imagine that this Soldier is missing an arm…,
and imagine that this Soldier has a brain injury.

Now…imagine that this Soldier is your Husband, or your Wife, or your Son, or your Daughter…
Imagine that your Soldier has been through numerous surgeries…
and imagine that your Soldier continues rehabilitation as days, months, and now…even years, pass through the calendar.
Imagine that you have become your Soldier’s primary caregiver…
and it is you who has become the greatest advocate of your Soldier’s recovery.

Now…imagine that the funds your bank account ran out six months ago…
Imagine that you needed to quit your job to assist your loved one with his or her daily tasks…
Imagine that you are now behind on your house payment and cannot afford the utility bills…
Imagine that you have exhausted all government programs to assist you.

This is an unnecessary burden for wounded Soldiers and their families to carry.
While these caregivers are providing treatment for their loved ones, they are often forced to accept heavy expenses over the long term.
But they accept these expenses to ensure the continued recovery and rehabilitation of their Soldier.

I ask one small favor, if I may, and that is for you to think of my Jay, and remember that nothing is impossible.
When this event is over, and it is weeks, months, years down the road, I ask that you think of my Jay.

When you hit that dead-end, when you feel like the breakthrough will never come – think of my Jay, and of our family, to remind you that nothing is impossible and everything is possible.

The poem I created for my Jay.

With Jay by Our Side

With Jay by our side, in the basement together we endured pain, joy, grief, and felt the presence of the Holy Spirit abiding with us.
We rest next to a bed with tubes and wires invading our Jay
as monitors watch his motionless sleep.
We will desperately pray for him, re-position his arms and legs, re-arrange pillows, layer blankets on top of him to keep him warm,
and share the morning's peace at the foot of his bed.
And when we kiss him good night, we will hold him a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that we will thank God for, our Jay and ask Him for nothing, except one more day..............

With Jay by our side, early each morning,
long before the roosters wake,
our Jay instinctively makes sounds, saying hi, to tell us that he is awake.
His daily voyage always leads to suctioning fluid from his lungs,
and is followed by thanking God that our Jay had a pleasant evening.
With Jay by our side, we think we know what he’s been asking for;
we think we know what he’s been trying to say. We think we know when our Jay is in pain, discomfort, or wants to be turned. Mom, Dad, and sisters go through similar pains as we wrestle back to sleep.

It's now 3:00 a.m. and we find ourselves fighting for rest.
This arrangement leaves us tired, arms sore, at times with pounding headaches, legs trembling, and sleep beyond our reach. We lie silently in the morning calm as tears fill our eyes
and we consider how truly blessed our lives are
with our Jay by our side.

With Jay by our side, we promised him we would never leave him. Beside his bed is Mom, joyful to be asleep, and Dad not very far.
And our Jay should always know, wherever he may go,
No matter where he is, we will never be far away.

If we find ourselves next to a stone that speaks of our Jay,
We will heartfully beg to reset the clock
to when our side of the bed was not our own.

To realize the value of one millisecond,
ask the Brisenos who live with Jay by our side.
We treasure every moment that we have!
And we treasure it all the more because we shared it with someone very special —
special enough to spend your time with.
And to remember in so doing that time waits for no one.
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift.

That's why we call it the Present and thank God that in it we have Jay by our side!

In heartfelt Love – Dad

Greetings! The heat is on!!! Washington Redskins beat the Titans for the pre-season game opener.

Before I start with Jay’s update, on behalf of the Briseno family, I would like to say a special thank you to Marilynn Marchione of the Associated Press for a magnificent, superb, and moving article she wrote about us when Jay was in Tampa, Florida, for rehabilitation. The article touched a lot of people’s hearts and brought us many new friends all over the US and some from other countries like Germany and the Virgin Islands.

To our new and old friends who sent us letters, greeting cards, loads of love, and prayers, we cannot thank you enough for your kindness as we deal with this difficult period in our family’s life. Your support, love and prayers are greatly appreciated.

Our sincere gratitude to our high school’s alumni (mom 1975/dad 1976 Cavite National High School, Cavite City, Philippines) for their notable support for creating a special website, ‘Freedom Page’ tribute for Jay. Gentry & Joyce Saria (1976 alumni,) thank you so much for taking the time to create a 'Freedom Page' for Jay. If you wish to view Jay’s Freedom Page, please copy & paste http://www.geocities.com/kabatch76/jay.html or click link below. We are also grateful for the inspirational Christian CDs sent to Jay by Mr. Renee Prudente (1975 alumni); you guys are awesome!!!

In addition, we would also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. John Collins (Illinois) of ‘Gifts from Home Organization’ and their avid readers of ‘Love N Leftovers’ column by Alice Collins; Soldiers’ Angels Organization; Families of the Wounded Fund, Inc.; VFW; American Legion; and Virginia Elks Lodge for their support.

Now it’s Jay’s update! Recently, we received many letters requesting to get to know a little bit more about Jay.

Here is some background about my son. Joseph (Jay) Briseno, Jr, US Army, Specialist Fourth Class, joined the Army Reserve when he was only 17 years old, a senior high school, not old enough to buy beer but old enough to die for his country, with a dream to become a Forensic Scientist. During his high school years, he always liked watching the Discovery Channel, CSI TV shows, Friends, and the Simpsons. He was into sports (basketball, football, cross country running, and track). He liked to dance and listened to rock music. Growing up, he never gave us any problems and always took responsibility for his own actions.

In late 2002, his unit Civil Affairs base in Riverdale, Maryland, was activated to support the ‘Operation Enduring Freedom’. March 2003, we celebrated his 20th bday with members of his unit. We brought a birthday cake for him as everyone joined together to sing “happy birthday” to him. I remember my last conversation with Jay before he boarded the bus, he said to not to worry about him, he will be back; just take care of mom and his sisters.

We followed Jay to Fort Bragg, until the last moment he was loaded in the airplane heading to war in Iraq. In June 27th, 2003, I received a call from the ‘Casualty Reporting Office’ informing me that Jay had been shot in the back of his head. At that time, they could not tell me how bad his injury was, but the hardest part of all was when I delivered the message to my wife and two daughters about the incident. The next thing I knew, we were on our way to Landstuhl, Germany, to meet up with Jay. From Germany, we all left together to Walter Reed Army hospital in Washington, DC. I remember seeing so many wounded warriors, so many young heroes, who gave their lives for our freedom.

It’s been four years now since the incident. He has been to Tampa, Florida, twice for rehab. In the near future, we hope to move to Tampa, Florida, near the James Haley Veterans Medical Center. We believe that the Veteran Medical Center in Tampa has all the specialists who can provide the highest quality care for our son’s injuries and medical needs without having to go far from home.

In June 2007, Jay was hospitalized at the Veterans Medical Center in Washington DC, for an obstruction in his stomach. It was very hard for all of us to watch him as the doctor inserted the NG tube through his nostril. At night, a slight movement of his head would awaken Jay and the expression on his face was discomfort because of the NG tube in his body.

Jay was not given any food but IV fluid for one week and from that, he lost a lot of weight. Since the hospitalization, he has been gradually gaining his weight back. He continues the daily exercise on his Moto Med Bike; he’s been eating and sleeping well, and hasn’t had more setbacks, thanks to God!

Last month, LTG Honore (who helps cleaned up New Orleans after Katrina) visited Jay. He presented Jay a letter of appreciation and a presidential coin from President Bush. It’s always an honor to have LTG Honore in our home. He has now visited Jay two times.

Jay was also visited by one of the Washington Redskins hogettes, hooah!

Thank you again for your generous support, kind words, and prayers for us.

Hello, I am very sorry for not making any updates lately, but here is a good update about Jay and the progress he had made with his Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury rehabilitation at James A. Haley Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center Tampa, Florida from Feb 22, 2007 to May 27, 2007.

Finally we are home again!!! Due to medical reasons, Jay’s discharged dates were postponed several times. Jay was discharged on Memorial Day weekend. Jay and the rest of the family are just happy to be home again…home of the Washington Redskins.

Tampa VA sent Jay home with several new equipments to help him stay healthy, stronger, and hopefully to get him off the ventilator. We will be using all the new equipment accordingly, but due to limited space in our house (first floor), we may not be able to fully utilize all the equipment, but as always we will do our best.

He has shown several improvements since arriving on Feb 22, 2007 in Tampa. His ventilator frequency breathing setting is now set to 5 from 6. During one of the weaning sessions, Jay practically breathed on his own for 1.5 hours.

He is now home with a new Laptop Ventilator (LTV) 900 so we can continue the weaning process at home. Many thanks to Chuck Gutierrez who took the time to educate, train, and prepare us when we get home to Virginia.

Another progress he has made is his neck muscles are now stronger. He is able to hold his head without any support while exercising on his Motor Med Bike (MMB). The MMB strengthens his legs and arms muscles hoping to help his diaphragm muscles to become stronger also. Our goal is to have him do one hour bike exercise each day…hooah!!!

Jay also has a standing table. The purpose of this table is to make his bones stronger and also helps the diaphragm muscles get stronger too.

Jay now eats two meals (pureed food) a day versus only one meal per day before we went to Tampa. His appetite increased tremendously.

Some step back news; he was diagnosed with Osteoporosis, he failed the swallow test (to drink liquid), and has a hairline fracture on his right ankle.

Due to Jay’s medical conditions and needs, as a family we wish to be relocated in Tampa where all the specialists for his medical setting and wish to build one level home that fits his medical requirements. Plus he has improved tremendously down there because of the outstanding specialists in the Tampa VA.

If you wish to help, or make a difference, and to make our wish come true for our son, our soldier, our hero, you may contact us via email at Jays_journey@hotmail.com

Dear Friends and Relatives – Wow! It’s been months since the last time we updated this website. We are very sorry for the late updates…but we have exciting news for you about Jay.

Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center has helped us to find Jay an institution that specialized with his injuries, and they recommended Tampa.

In July, we went to the Haley Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tampa, Florida for Jay’s extensive rehabilitation.

In Tampa, the doctors, nurses, therapists and staff were all caring people. We were so grateful and pleased with their support and medical services.

One of many reasons why we went to Tampa was to wean Jay off the ventilator. The Respiratory Therapist team tried everything they can to get him off or partially off the ventilator. Unfortunately, his spinal cord was so severely damaged he was not even a good candidate for the diaphragm pacemaker or electrical nerve stimulator at the time.

Chuck – we know how much you want Jay off the ventilator, thank you so much for everything. We miss you, and especially Jay, misses you so much.

Due to the severeness of his injury, most of his quality of life was taken away. But when we met Karyn the Speech Pathologist, she taught Jay how to swallow again.

Everyday she encouraged Jay not to give up; she took her time teaching Jay how to swallow. The first few days of swallowing, it would take Jay 10-15 seconds for one effort to swallow. But with Karyn’s determination to help Jay, her will and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, after about a month of swallow training, Jay was ready to take the swallow test.

The day of the swallow test; my wife and I were outside the testing room, waiting patiently and praying. The testing room was quiet for about 15 minutes, all of a sudden we heard people cheering in the room. When the testing room door opened everyone rushed to congratulate us. Jay passed the swallow test with flying colors. Jay can now eat anything (pureed).

Karyn, with each swallow Jay makes, we are thinking of you and we thank you.

Everyday Physical Therapists, Rachel and Tammy, would do range of motion with his limbs and neck, his joints are now more flexible than ever.

Rachel, your perseverance and believing in him, has taught him how to use the Environmental Control Unit (ECU) by blinking his eyes, smiling, or grimacing. It resolves that he has a purpose in life. In addition, your kindness and sweetness always brought a smile to Jay.

Dr. Beasley (Dentist) thank you so much for a wonderful job restoring Jay’s missing teeth. Ms. Mary Mosley thanks so much for assisting Dr. Beasley.

Haley’s House and Haley Veterans Affairs Medical Center provided us the place to stay while Jay was in the hospital receiving medical treatment. Mary Ellen, thank you so much for your help, your endless time helping wounded warriors and family members is greatly appreciated

Family Support Group meets every Saturday; the program is so unique than any other VA program has; the program is solely created for wounded warriors family members only.

When we get together, we shared our daily lives experience to other family members; some lives are harder than the others, but most importantly we have one thing in common: someone in their family is a wounded warrior, it could be the mother, father, brother, sister, husband, wife, bf or gf.

Sometimes their shares of experiences are so intense, painful and agonizing. We all cried together and consult each other. We are able to relate our feelings and feel each others pain.

Family Support Group members, you guys are special people, you’re courage is immeasurable.

Colonel Fryer, you have our sincere appreciation for your outstanding leadership, as an advocate for Jay, as a friend and sister in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart Medal award ceremony in August made an extraordinary day for us and Jay. As always, you were there for us to listen with our pain, our grief and joy. You will always be in our prayers.

Dr. Scott, Dr. Merritt, and Dr. Pope: we cannot thank you enough. Your professionalism and leadership are second to none.

******

Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation kindly, wholeheartedly, and generously donated a driveway for Jay. The new driveway is being used when we transport him out of the basement to the vehicle, unlike before, it were dangerous pushing the wheelchair up the hill on the grass, unsafe, and wheelchair can get tilted easily.

In addition, the new driveway is another means for Jay to use to stay outdoors and enjoy the nature.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation, Mr. Rocky Mitchell, President and staff, thank you so much for your support, compassion, and empathy.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation and the Briseno family are extending our invitation to all our friends and relatives to join us the dedication of the driveway on December 10, 2005 at 1100 am. Please send us an email if you are able to attend.

******

About a month ago, I was hired by Northrup Grumman thru Operation IMPACT. My family and I are so grateful with the employment opportunity given to me and to be part of this great organization.

Our life may never be the same again, but our gratitude with Northrup Grumman organization, Operation IMPACT and Mission Assurance helped us take a giant step to a brighter future.

Debbie – thank you for a wonderful note, kind words and prayers you written in the guest book.

******

Even it’s most painful moments and most difficult times can lead us to greater growth, learning, love, and oneness with God if we let them. Be thankful for all the blessings God gives you in this life.

Dear Friends and Relatives,

Finally, the snow and ice are gone, winter clothes are back in the attic until next winter comes again, but before we think about the next winter, let’s enjoy the Spring and Summer season once again.

In the late part of March 2005, Jay had pulmonary episodes that made him go back to the Washington, D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center to get the Tracheostomy changed.

In the early part of April 2005, Jay had another pulmonary episode that made him go to the Prince William Hospital (Emergency Room) in Manassas, Virginia, 2 times in the same day. That was a very rough two weeks for Jay. He is now ok and stable at home.

The rally in Washington, D.C. turned out great! On April 12th, 2005, wheelchair activists, family members and other supporters met “Spring Into Action”.

Our message:
With the establishment of a clinical trial network and adequate funding, curing paralysis is now a realistic goal.

The Christopher Reeve Foundation, who is lead by Dana Reeve - widow of Christopher Reeve and Chairman of the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation- supported and made an appearance in the rally with the following.

· Hillary Clinton - Senator
· Marc Buoniconti – Ambassador of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis;
· Justin Richardson – 24-year-old who traveled to Israel for the Proneuron ProCord treatment just a few days after his spinal cord injury;
· Rep. James R. Langevin – Congressman from Rhode Island who was rendered quadriplegic at age 16 from a gunshot wound while taking part in a police youth program;
· Dr. Wise Young – pre-eminent neuroscientist in the field of spinal cord injury.

In the morning, I (Joseph) met with Congressman Wolf and in the afternoon with Senator Kerry and discussed our goals:

1. Passage of the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Act;
2. Allocation of $300 million over 3 years to establish a Clinical Trial Network in the U.S.;
3. Commitments from the National Institute of Health and other federal agencies to place a higher priority on spinal cord injury research.

We, the Briseno Family (Joseph, Eva Marie, Jay, Sherilyn and Malerie) are urging your support to eliminate permanent paralysis due to spinal cord injury.

Please support and pass legislation that, for a modest investment, will ultimately save the federal government hundreds of billions of dollars in long-term costs of care for paralyzed individuals.

Please support legislation that will end the needless suffering of several hundred thousands of our citizens, especially Jay, our son, our soldier, our hero.

For more information, please login to www.cureparalysisnow.org

Today, April 18, 2005, the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) notified us that Jays story will be televised this week in the Newshour with Jim Lehrer.

PBS cannot tell us the specific day it will be shown on tv, please check your PBS channel for local listing schedule or you can go to the website www.PBS.org.

Here in Virginia, PBS is channel 26, News Hour with Jim Lehrer, 7-8 PM Monday to Friday.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your daily prayers.

First of all, we thank God for another year he has given Jay with us, it’s another milestone, and we are hoping many more years to come.

There comes a time when words just can't say "THANK YOU" enough to everyone who joined with us to celebrate Jay’s 22nd birthday. We couldn't believe the efficiency and kindness you have done for us.... We opened the adorable birthday cards and presents and couldn't believe all the kind words and generosity.

The celebration went very well. Jay entertained guests for over a period of two hours with no signs of being distress, thanks to God! Overall, Jay was very happy.

General Blackledge, Commanding General of 352nd Civil Affairs Command, presented Jay the following awards; Purple Heart Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Warrior Citizen Award, and The Honorable Order of Cincinnatus.

He also received the National Defense Medal from Jasper Mallari, U.S. Navy; Major Carlisle, U.S. Army, Civil Affairs, ran the Marine Corps Marathon dedicated for Jay, presented him the Marine Corps Marathon Medal; LTC (Chaplain) Long, U.S. Army, Civil Affairs, gave Jay a Bible, and Dr. McDade (Manassas Park High School, Principal) give Jay the Manassas Park High School State Championship T-shirts (Football and Wrestling).

You made Jay’s birthday celebration just perfect and we DO THANK YOU ALL.

March 17th, 2005

Jay has shown signs of respiratory distress; he was taken to the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center to be examined. The prognosis: there was an air leakage onto the TRACH cuff. The Respiratory Specialist and ENT doctor replaced the TRACH.

He was released from the hospital the same day.

March 18th, 2005

Early in the morning, Jay started getting distressed again but much worse than yesterday. We were advised by the Washington, D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center Respiratory Specialist to take Jay to the nearest hospital. 911 were called in and Jay was taken to the Prince William Hospital in Manassas.

The Respiratory Therapist saw him, added about 5-10cc of air onto the cuff, and tightened the collar tube holder and a chest X-ray was done also. He was released to go home around 1400 hours.

Around 1600 hours, Jay’s distress has came back, much worse than the two previous episodes. The ventilator machine shows low pressure, which means ‘EMERGENCY’. We called 911 again, he was taken back to the Prince William Hospital; at this time the ENT suspected that there was something wrong with the TRACH. The new TRACH was in placed and observed for two hours, he was released around 0300 hours next morning.

March 24th, 2005

Public Broadcasting System (PBS) filmed and made a documentary on Jay. We will notify everybody when it will be aired.

Presently, he is doing well, no more signs of distress. In a short period of time, several trips to the emergency room, we are hoping all Tracheotomy issues should have been corrected by now.

As you all know, he enjoys watching TV shows ‘Friends’ and ‘American Idol’. At this time Jay is pulling for Mr. Bo Bice after Travis Tucker of Manassas got voted out two weeks ago.

Mr. Bruno Amato’s mother Olivia is not doing well, she is 75 years old, we are asking everyone to pray for her. Mr. Amato is a good friend of the Briseno family.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your daily prayers.

Dear Friends and Relatives,

Hello 2005, goodbye 2004 and January is almost gone. We would like to say thank you very much for everyone who sent us greeting cards, gifts, kind words and prayers during the holiday season.

Thank you to all OP MALE angels/stars for taking the time to write to Jay and sending countless kind words and encouragement.

We would like to share this poem to everyone, which was written by one of the OP MALE angels/stars for Jay.

TRUE HEROES

What is a true hero?
Is it an actor on the stage?
Or a person on a screen?
Or could it be real human being?

True heroes are the ones
That may don’t ever see
The ones that are serving
And fighting for liberty.

They are often forgot about
While we go about our day
While they defend our country
And get shot at everyday.

They live in little tents
And sometimes on the ground
While we complain that it’s too hot
With a/c in our house.

They go and go many hours straight
With rarely taking a break
When some of us get really mad
When we have to work an hour late.

These heroes are the ones
That really deserve our praise.

So if someone asks what a hero is
I hope you’ll proudly say
A hero is our military
Who protect the USA.

**********

As you all know, Jay is going to back to the Washington, D.C. Veteran Affairs Hospital on January 26, 2005 for two weeks. The Pulmonologist will attempt to wean Jay off the ventilator. The Speech Pathologist will give him a swallow test and train him to use the new communication device that will enhance his communication skills. The Eye Specialist will also test Jay’s vision. Please pray for Jay’s progress.

The attending Pulmonologist Physician would be Dr. Samuel Spagnolo. He cared for Pope John Paul II after a gunshot wound. He also cared for the late President Ronald Reagan at GWU Hospital.

**********

January 24th, 2005

Father Holmes of All Saints Church anointed Jay and pray for his progress while he is in the hospital.

Deacon O’connell of All Saints Church continues to come to our home to bring Holy Communion for Jay every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

The Manassas Park Superintendent, Manassas Park High School Principal and Jay’s four former high school teachers came and presented Jay a “Manassas Park High School State Football Champion 2004” shirt and the Manassas Park High School DVD (the state football championship game).

**********

We are planning to celebrate Jay’s 22d birthday on March 19, 2005. It will be held at the Manassas Park High School Conference Room, time 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

This is an open invitation to all our friends and relatives, please let us know by email or phone if you are planning to attend Jay’s birthday celebration as soon as possible.

Thank you very much Dr. McDade (Principal) for letting us use your high school conference room.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

Dear Friends and Relatives,

As the holiday's fast approach, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

We wish you all the gifts of PEACE and HAPPINESS throughout the Holiday Season…and always.

We can never thank you enough for all the support and prayers. We receive letters, greeting cards, phone calls and emails from all over the world.

“GOD BLESS US ALL”

**********

On Dec 16th 2004, Jay was taken to the Veterans Affairs hospital in Washington, D.C. for respiratory problems; he was wheezing for over a week. He was diagnosed with a slight case of Bronchitis and was given an antibiotic medicine. He also had an inflammation of tissue in his throat. The EENT doctor ordered a new TRACH and replaced the old one. He is now doing well; we just need to be extra careful when we turn or suction him. He watched the winning game of the Redskins over the weekend.

**********

The All Saints Catholic Church choir, who was lead by Father Hudgins and Deacon Ted, came to our house and sang Christmas carols for us. Thank you very much All Saints Church and the choir.

Deacon O’connell continues to bring Holy Communion for Jay every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

**********

Honorable Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Anthony Principi, visited us. We felt honored of his visitation.

We believe Mr. Principi will do his best to make the Veterans Affairs system better for our veterans before he leaves the office.

**********

November 2004

Mr. & Mrs. Philip Rogers of Manassas, Virginia donated the Toyota Sienna 2004 with fully equipped for handicap accessibility and motorized wheelchair for Jay.

Jay can now go to church to attend the mass, visit his friends, and no more waiting of 6-8 hours for the ambulance to take him home.

Mr. & Mrs. Rogers, we cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity.

Congressman Frank Wolf and Brother Randy West were also took an instrumental part of finding the vehicle for Jay.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

Dear Friends & relatives,

For the last few days, many things happened in our lives, specifically in Jay’s life.

******

October 29, 2004

Jay made a quick run to the Veterans Affairs Hospital for Trach and PEG tube changes. The ambulance picked him up at 1000 hours and we were home by 1500 hours. Everything went well.

By 1630 hours, the CNN crews came to our house and did an interview, because Major James Carlisle, a member of Jay’s Unit(Civil Affairs) is dedicating his run for Jay in the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday. We are overwhelmed, speechless and moved by Major Carlisle’s good gesture for Jay. It’s an honor for Jay.

CNN will view the interview on Sunday at 1800 hours CNN nationwide.

******

October 29, 2004

At 1030 hours, Congressman Frank Wolf, Manassas Park Vice Mayor, American Legion, VFW, Mr. Randy West and Mr. Walter P. Kitonis III - Progeny Systems - President/CEO held a meeting in our house and the topic was how come up with a solution of providing an adaptable van for Jay.

Mr. Randy West brought good news to the meeting that a family in Florida is donating a Toyota Sienna accessible van. He said, the van would be here in Manassas Park by Thursday next week, praises God!

We were touched and speechless, again its the private citizen who provided us the help that the Veterans Affairs could not do.

Jay can now go to church to attend mass, visit his friends; he does not have to wait 6-8 hours for the ambulance to take him home from the Prince William Hospital.

Mr. Roger Stradley of USACARES organization also reached out to us and they are ready to provide Jay an adaptable van.

Again, I am sorry for not making updates on Jay’s website lately.

For the past few days, Jay is doing well except last Saturday (10/02). We had to take Jay to the Prince William Hospital because the ventilator machine alarm kept going off. He was calm, the sat was 98 and the heart rate was 65-70. In less than two hours, Jay was treated and went home.

We are in a process of doing multiple projects in the house for Jay. We are going to renovate the bathroom so he can start taking a real shower (enough of that bed bath), adding two windows in the basement and two doors in the garage, concrete patio with screen cover, concrete walkway with guardrails from the basement to the driveway, and wheel-a-vator from the basement to the first floor of the house (this will be used during an inclement weather and as an alternate fire exit).

******

Today, Congressman Frank Wolf, visited Jay in our home.

******

Our Son, Our Soldier, Our Hero

Our son, Jay, was only 17 years old and a senior in high school when he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves to earn money for college. He was not old enough to sign a legal document.

Our soldier, Jay, was only 20 years old when he was sent to war in Iraq to fight for our country; not old enough to buy a beer; but old enough to face our enemies and to die for our country.

Our hero, Jay, has risked and sacrificed his life to defend and preserve our freedom.

Our heartfelt sincere appreciation to the people, who called over the phone or send us letter because they read, saw or heard Jay’s story. Much thanks and gratitude to all those that remember Jay in their daily prayers.

Hello dear friends and relatives. We apologize for not making any updates on Jay’s website lately.

As many of you know that Jay has been exposed to the media. We were interviewed by the National Public Radio Station. If you wish to hear the radio interview on Jay, here is the link http://marketplace.publicradio.org/morning_report/2004/07/22_mmr.html

LA Times published his story and many other local newspapers nationwide. CNN came and did an interviewed as well.

Our objective for exposing Jay to the public is to find a Physician or hospital who specializes in this type of injury and hopefully be able to help Jay progress, and to educate the public about how bad the Veterans Administration treated us while he was hospitalized in Richmond, Virginia.

Jay is doing very well for the last few months just passed by. He did not have an episode, thanks God! He’s been sitting up on the wheel chair for over an hour everyday, our sub goal for him is be able to sit up 4-6 hours so he can go to the church, shopping and many more. He is maintaining his ideal weight of 145-150 lbs., no bedsores.

He now enjoys watching TV show ‘Friends’ and his favorite character is Rachel, but he thinks Joey is the funniest among them all. He also follows the Olympic basketball dream team, which is doing marginal this year and of course he watches his favorite NFL team, Washington Redskins, pre-season games.

Our heartfelt sincere appreciation to the people, who called over the phone or send us letter because they read, saw or heard Jay’s story. Much thanks and gratitude to all those that remember Jay in their daily prayers.

Hello, early morning on June 6, Jay had multiple seizures that each seizure lasted less than five minutes. 911 was called to take him to Prince William Hospital (PWH) in Manassas, Virginia. He was given several tests i.e. CT Scan, EKG, and blood/urine work. Blood test results were that the sodium level in his body was low; it was suspected that was the reason of seizures. Through the IV, it pumped Sodium Chloride to his body right away and stayed overnight in the hospital for observation. In addition, small amount of infection in his urine was also found, anti biotic was prescribed, this may have caused of seizure also. The following day, a second blood work was done, sodium level in his body is now ok. Jay was discharged from the hospital on June 7th at 1400 hours.

Once a week for four weeks, we will have a blood and urine work making sure his sodium level is maintaining accordingly and infection is gone, afterwards, once a month blood work will continue.

To PWH doctors, nurses and staff, you guys are wonderful, your support and understanding is greatly appreciated.

Reminder: On June 27, 2004 will be a year from Jay’s incident. Please stop for a moment and say a special thanksgiving prayer for Jay’s miracle recovery and always include him in your prayers. He came along way…

Hello my dear friends and family. We are sorry for not updating Jay’s journal lately; Comcast Internet has had a power outage in our area.

We have good news we want to share with you. Jay was at the Washington, DC Veterans Hospital on May 24-26 for check up. One of many good things happened was that the ventilator machine were changed to a smaller and lighter one. His breath rate per minute in the ventilator was changed from 10 to 9, this is progress! The trach was also changed with a speaking valve in it; it means we can hear his voice now when his talking. Chest x-ray looked very good, diaphragm appears healthy and in good shape. Speech Pathologist also went to see him, hopefully, soon he get swallow test, which means he can start eating real food. PEG tube was also replaced with much better quality.

Last month, Sherilyn and Malerie bought William Hung CD, Jay likes the CD and he sings along with William.

We are grateful with the Doctors and staff in the Washington DC Veterans Hospital specially Dr. Fish, Mr. Tillman, Mr. Worthey and MICU Nurses & Staff.

Jackie we are sorry to hear about your mom’s infection. We hope she is feeling well now and the infection has been cured. Please let your family know to call us if there is something we can do to help, ok.

CPT Solice thanks for visiting Jay at the hospital. Jay’s former JROTC instructor CAPT Porter came today (June 1st), thanks for visiting Jay!

Belated happy Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and advance Happy Father’s to all the fathers out there.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

Finally, our five days of stay in Richmond VAMC has brought you some good news. First of all, let us thank our dear Lord Jesus Christ for the entire blessing he has given us during our stay in Richmond VAMC and traveling to and from the hospital.

On April 14th 2004, the external catheter was permanently removed from Jay’s body; it means he is now much less vulnerable to get infection (UTI). His bladder is working fine and he can now urinate on his own. This is just one step towards Jay’s miracle recovery. I can remember few months back doctors told us, due to Jay’s spinal cord injury, he must have a catheter attached to his body for the rest of his life, once again Jay has proven to them, with complete trust and faith to our Lord Jesus Christ, nothing is impossible to him.

Secondly, We were trained to use this piece of equipment called IST Words Plus to enhance his communication skills. Our first goal with him is to master ‘YES’ and ‘NO’ answer, once he masters the yes or no answer to the question, the next step is infinity, it means it’s easier to attach other equipment or device to it, and be able turn on or off any appliances by himself.

Happy belated Easter to all.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

Hello again friends and relatives. Unfortunately, we have another not so good news we would like to share with you. Last Thursday, Jay had another episode. 911 was called in and he was taken to the Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Virginia and was released from the hospital same day.

We thought Jay was having a seizure. It was the second time it has happened since he has been home last December 18, 03. His eyes were rapidly blinking, lips were crooked and heart rate spiked up as high as 139. This episode lasted for about 2 to 3 minutes, as soon as the ambulance arrived, he was already calmed and seemed ok, and however, we wanted him to get checked out by the doctor making sure he was ok. He was given several tests (i.e. MRI, ECG, blood and urine test). The results were all ok, no signs of seizures, heart attack or stroke.

As you all know, Jay is schedule to go back to McGuire VAMC on April 12, 2004; we will ask his doctor to do an in depth testing of his heart and neuro.

Presently, he is calm, stable and has been resting well.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

On March 1st, 2004, it was around 1730 hours when the visitors beginning to arrived. At exactly 1800 hours Mass was started, followed by Major Coleman’s prayer. After the prayer, everyone gathered around Jay and sang a birthday song for him. Everyone had a chance to greet Jay a happy birthday. Jay handled the situation very well and cheerful. At first we were worried how was he going to react to the crowd, it may irritated him. We prayed and hoping he will do well. Jay did very well, he has demonstrated to us over and over that he can handle it with flying colors, and he did! Job well done my son!

First of all we would like to thank our Lord Jesus Christ for giving Jay a chance to celebrate his 21st birthday with us, and many more years to come. Second, we would like to thank a million times to our priest Parishioner Father Bob Cilinski and Deacon O’Connell for a wonderful and gracious Mass held for Jay; and relatives (Uncle Robert, Auntie Yoly, Ryan, Auntie Bessie, Nery, Kevin, Ken, Beth, Don and Grandma Hermie) who helped out to make this day a very special day for Jay.

We are also thankful to the following that attended and celebrated this special day with us members of 352d Civil Affairs Command Col Stout, Col and Mrs. Zanin, LTC Webster, and Major Coleman. Col Donovan not present but sang a birthday song over the phone for Jay. Dr. Roser; Mrs. O’Connell; Kelly Brock; Lily and her 2 sons; Justin (Maxim); Bert and Marlynn Maraan; Freddy Singson; Jay’s friends who took their time to be with him; Charleeta, Quan, Nam, Chris, Jasper (sister and uncle with him), Debbie, Elmer and Jomer; Jay’s adoptive Aunties (not present but made an effort to greet and say a prayer for Jay over the phone) from Richmond, Virginia Carol, Linda and Grace Sharp; and our neighbors. Our apology if we miss to mention someone.

We are also grateful to our relatives and friends (specially Jackie Gonzales and family) who cannot be present but their love, support and prayers are most needed at all times.

Thank you very much for all the presents, flowers, balloons, cards, most of all your love, support, and prayer for Jay. Your persistence support are greatly appreciated, we just cannot do it alone without your support.

Col Stout (Jay’s Commanding Officer) has presented Jay a coin for ‘AWARDED FOR EXCELLENCE’ presented by the Commanding General of 352nd Civil Affairs Command.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

Hello friends and family. Jay has been doing very well for the past few days. His neck muscle is getting stronger everyday.

CPT Solice from 352nd Civil Affairs Command came and brought birthday presents for Jay. CPT Solice, thank you very much for all the presents you brought for Jay. I have been reading the book to him, he likes it and I found it very inspirational also.

Today, I called Shepherd Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and I also spoke with Dr. Silver, Jays Neuro-Doctor in McGuire Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. It looks like Jay has to go back to McGuire Hospital for more re-evaluation then probably he will be heading off to Shepherd in Atlanta.

Last week, Charleeta came to see Jay and she brought 2 wonderful pictures of Jay, one picture his head was full of shaving cream, it looks like he’s about to shave his head off, and the 2nd picture after shaving his head off. Charleeta’s visitations would always bring joy to Jay, because her strong sense of humor makes him smile. She also sings, dances and tells funny stories to him. When Jay was in Richmond, she made an album for Jay with lots of encouragement messages, pictures, love, thoughts and prayers. She is one true friend of Jay and an instrumental for his recovery. Charleeta, the Briseno family loves you very much and you are welcome to see him anytime you wish.

March 1, 2004- Jay is turning 21 years old. Father Bob Cilinski is coming to our house to have a special mass at 6:00 PM. Friends and relatives are all invited to come, please give us a call if you are coming.

If you cannot attend the mass on March 1, 2004 at 6:00 PM, please stop for a moment and say a special prayer for Jay’s birthday, recovery and always include him in your prayers.

"Our Son! Our Hero! Our Soldier!"

The average age of the military man is 20 years.

He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old
enough to die for his country.

He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father's; but he has never collected unemployment either.

He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away.

He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and 155mm Howitzers.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk.

He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark.

He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity.

He is self-sufficient. He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle.

He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts. If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food.

He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands. He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death then he should have in his short lifetime.

He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies, and helped to create them.

He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away' those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom.

Beardless or not, he is not a boy.

He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship, understanding, love and prayers.

Remember Jay, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood.

When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and safe trip back home. Prayers are much needed at this time.

This week Jackie Gonzales (Jay’s friend) was home for a 3-day weekend from Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She and Kathy Gonzales (Jackie’s mom) visited Jay and brought a Valentine balloon and Godiva Chocolate ice cream. I (Dad) spoon-fed him the ice cream. It’s the first real food he has tasted for the last 7 months. He enjoys the ice cream so much; nobody could take away the smile on his face. Thank you very much for taking the time visiting Jay, for the balloons, ice cream and most of all, your love and prayers.

Also, Colonel Stout (Jay’s Commanding Officer) and Major Coleman (Executive Officer) visited Jay. Both of them were very pleased of Jay’s progress. His Unit has scheduled to have a family support picnic on July 4, 2004; and we are planning to attend the picnic with Jay.

Jay did very well this week, for the last 2 days he started sitting up again for 2 hours in his chair. Also, his neck muscle is much stronger now, he can now move his head towards his left, right, and can look up. There are new simple commands that he can consistently follow.

His Neurologist Doctor is asking us to bring him back to Richmond Veterans Hospital for more re-evaluation.

Jay is turning 21 years old on March 1, 2004. We have a private mass for his birthday, friends and relatives are welcome to attend, it will be held at All Saints Church in Manassas, time is tba.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

Yesterday around 1800 hours, Jay had another episode. I (Dad) noticed that Jay was making unusual grimaces; it appears to me that he was having a seizure, it lasted about 2 minutes.
I called 911, and then he was taken to the emergency room in Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Virginia. The following tests were taken at the hospital: blood, urine and CT Scan. The blood test results were good; CT Scan was not showing any new damage and urine test came out with UTI. Doctor prescribed an anti-biotic for 5 days; afterwards, he was discharged around 0030 hours to go home in Manassas Park, Virginia.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

Dear American People,

Help! Help! Help!

Please call your Senators, Congressmen, Department of Defense and the White House, Jay needs your help!

Jay is presently in McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond and ready to go home in Manassas Park, Virginia. However, we just found out today, according to Dr. Sheldon Markowitz, Chief of Staff, McGuire Veteran Hospital, that they will not be able to provide Jay nursing care when he goes home, when in fact Jay's medical condition requires all these services.

On June 27th, 2003, Jay was shot on the back of his head during the Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq and he sustained a Spinal Cord Injury and Anoxic Brain Injury making him ventilator-dependent. He also requires PEG tube feedings.

Our father, son, daugther, brother and sister are out there getting shot at and killed almost everyday fighting for our freedom. Our Government cannot even provide sufficient medical care for our troops when they get injured. What a shame!!!

In Christ,
Briseno Family

Finally!!! Jay is now home again. Our travel from Richmond to Manassas Park went smooth in spite of the bad weather. Once again, our sincere appreciation goes out to the nurses who took care of Jay, Respiratory Therapists, Dr. Ha, Dr. Silver, and Dr. Cooper that took care of Jay while he was at the hospital in Richmond. Also, many thanks to Chaplain Wagner; Chaplain Volunteers, Carol, Linda and John; In Christ Group Prayers Dr. & Mr. Marcelino, Grace Sharp and Gwen; Bible Study Group Lynn & husband, Rod and many other people who love Jay and believe in Christ, please continue to pray for Jay’s recovery.

It’s now Saturday, we still don’t have a nurse nor do we know when a nurse will be available for Jay; it’s only us-- Dad, Mom, Sherilyn, Malerie, and Grandma Hermie who take turns watching him and Our Lord Jesus Christ watching us all the time.

Please help us to find RN’s or LPN’s with ventilator experience to care for Jay. Have them contact us for details.

As far as the Neurological standpoint, he is doing very well also. He may be a good candidate now for extensive rehab in Shepard Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

Yesterday, two soldiers from his unit Civil Affairs Command visited Jay and brought a huge Valentine Card with many warm thoughts, greetings, love, support and prayer. Thank you very much for everything. They were happy to see Jay’s progress, he was making conversation with them, reminiscing and laughing about the good old days when they were in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Jays is doing very well. I think time has come for the Speech Therapist to see him.

Well, we still don’t have a nurse nor do we know when a nurse will be available for Jay.

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for Jay’s recovery and always include him in your prayers.

There is nothing attached.... This can be very powerful.... Just send this to all the people in your address book

Dear Friends and relatives,

The past few days were very hard for all of us. Yesterday morning, mom discovered that our Princess (Parakeet) passed away. I assumed she died of old age. Princess has been with us for over 10 years. Jay loves Princess so much, at this time, we decided not let him know that Princess is now gone, it will make him very upset. Please say a prayer for our Princess.

Updates on Jay conditions!! Jay is doing very well; he is well rested, calm, cheerful and handsome as he can be. He is much more interactive with people and able to communicate to anyone if he is in pain or in an uncomfortable position.

Finally!!! The bleeding has stop, no fever, and the infection is much more under control, however, the medication for the infection will continue for a few more days. Doctors want to make sure all the bugs are gone.

To Prince William Hospital Doctors, Nurses and staff, your care, love and prayers give Jay and us the extra strength that no matter how hard the situation it seems, GOD is always with us and he will take care of us. GOD has a special plan for Jay.

Please continue to pray for Jay's recovery and safe trip back home. Prayers are much needed at this time.

In Christ,
Briseno Family
