My son was just diagnosed with rhabdomyoscarcoma days before Christmas. He is on day 4 of chemo. You're story has inspired us. Michael is 14 and has a twin brother Sean. What you said about the fact that it is not your job to heal your son but to love him, really hit home for me. We will pray for your son's continued health andsleep him as a source of inspiration for us all. Thank you and God Bless!

Dear Connor and family:

I just happened upon your page and your story provides hope and inspiration. Our dear friend's 16 year old daughter has been diagnosed for the 2nd time with rhapdomysarcoma. After 14 months of extensive chemo and many weeks of radiation and finishing up with clean scans, you can imagine the worst news to hear was that its back. Please provide your positive thoughts and optimism to this family who is in such despair. Our town has rallied for this family before and we will do it again.

Prayers and Love to you and your family.

Hi Connor and family
I am really glad that you beat it the second time.My daughter Sophie (now 19) was diagnosed with undifferentiated rabdo in June 2007 just before her 18th birthday. After twelve months of chemo and radiation she was cleared. She had four months of remission packed with fun and before it came back. She is now having a second treatment followed by more intensive radiation. She is a fighter too and will beat it a second time like you!!

Walstead family, I was so very sad to hear about Lois. She was a great friend to me, she helped me out so many times in the toughest parts of my life. She would always tell me that for some reason she felt really close to me and she felt as if God was pulling her twards me. She was always there for me and helped me through the loss of my son Sean. I fell terrible that I wasn't there in her time of need, and never got to tell her goodbye. Lois is a unique person and a true angel, I will miss her terribly. She made a huge impact in my life, and without her, I could not have made it. If there is anything I can do for any of you, please let me know.

Hi Laura and family,
I have been checking your caringbridge about every week, but our hearts have been so heavy with concerns for friends here also suffering from cancer that it has been hard to write. First, we are so thrilled for Connor's freshman year. I know Jenna would be jealous that he can start driving so young.
My dear neighbor lost her fight for life on May 4th- exactly one year to the date of receiving her diagnosis. I had driven her to her last radiation treatment 2 days before Easter. She had been to NJ for Easter and flew to Florida 10 days before she died. She fought so hard. Our other great concern is for my best friend's daughter, Kathy. Just 3 weeks ago they discovered a very aggressive breast cancer. There was some concern that it had already spread to the liver and they had cancelled surgery. A second opinion by the radiologist is that the spots on the liver are cysts so at this moment in time, she is undergoing surgery in Boston. She has a teenage daughter graduating from high school on June 3rd and a 14 year old set of twins borns prematurely who have ongoing medical needs. Sorry for so much gabbing- love, Aunt Betsey

Hi guys! Haven't checked in on ya in a while, but am I glad we did! Awesome news! We have prayed every night for Connor to "fully recover" and here you are! We will keep the other children who are battling cancer in our prayers. God has been pressing on my heart lately that "you know, Robin, easy doesn't always equal good, and hard doesn't always equal bad". The world always wants us to believe that easy=good and hard=bad, but it's just not so. But you guys already know that! Bless you all in this wonderful new year! Hope we get to see you soon.
