Hey, Rhonda. Thank you so much for coming out on Saturday. It was so good to see you and your family. I can't believe how tall Bailey is! You'll be looking up to her sometime in the near future. I hope that Sydney had a good time. She looked so cute with the butterflies. Tell her that I said thank you for singing her song and that I love her too. So, how are the new puppies working out? You are one brave soul! Well, I guess I will go for now. Tell everyone at the clinic that I said hello.

Much love,

ROMEO......ROMEO.....

It just made my day to read your update! Thank you!!! I am so happy that Bailey is in drama! OH how I would LOVE to be a fly on the wall on those nights where she is practicing her lines and Sydney is helping. You will be AWESOME Miss. Bailey!!! I would love to come see you on stage some night. You will be the best student yet to walk through the doors of ANY knoxville school. Oh how we are sooo Blessed with our girls. There is Bailey paving the way, putting the Dudley name out in showbiz and our Sweet Sydney will be next taking her place on stage. Those people don't know what will hit them. The DUDLEY TRIO!! I am so happy for your family. I can only imagine the FUN that you girls are having. You are a hoot to be around and your are such a great MOM to those girls. Can you see the smile on my face from Maryville? There is NOTHING those girls can't do and they know it. I am so sorry that we missed you at clinic. We go tomorrow, Laura wants "to be fired" haha so she don't have to go. If only it was that easy. Rhonda, you have seen so much more than I have and you are such an inspiration to me. Thank you for your humor and Courage by letting everyone see how truley precious life is through your eyes. You touch my heart everytime you write an update. We will live life one day at a time and love and cherish every laugh, cry and catfight that we are so blessed to have for another day. Your precious Family is always on our prayers! We love you girls more than you will ever know. GO Bailey GO!!! GO Sydney GO!!!!

Hi,
I wanted to make you aware (maybe again) about the Cure Childhood Cancer petition! The GREAT news is that CureSearch, LIVESTRONG and Alex’s Lemonade Stands have ALL written about the Petition on their websites! And TX Children’s and DUKE have both allowed us to setup paper versions inside the hospitals! WE ARE MAKING HEADWAY and are at over 11,000 signatures! But we need your help again. If you can please make your readers aware, email it around again, and give just a little publicity, I think we can make this happen!
Thanks again,

We are praying for CLEAN scans!!!
We will also pray that you find a resolution to Ballie's blood pressure & that it's nothing serious. I know how much things like that can worry you. We will never take health for granted, will we?
I know Sydney will have sooo much fun at camp. It's awesome that Ballie will get to go this year. Siblings go thru so much also & they truly deserve some time at camp w/ their peers. Maybe she can talk Brittany into going next year.
Sending up many prayers and looking forward to reading the good news,

Rhonda, this is amazing...again, our inspiration, the lovely Miss Sydney! Katie scans in two weeks in Vermont...I'm nervous, but hopeful. That will be the end of the study and if it is good news, then I know Patient #1 on the Phase II was successful and it gives more children a chance! I can't believe our parallel lives are no more...now our girls will just be a week or so off from their treatment. Katie finished chemo this week, and it wasn't bad. Take care!

Howdy Miss. Rhonda-We have been thinking of you all. We had a CT at the hospital this morning but I knew it would be way too early for you all to be there (if you were going to be there at all). We are thinking of you guys. I am so sorry to hear about Victoria. Though we did not know her personally it never seems right when I child passes away. God has His own plan so...
Well, we love you all. I saw a Hannah Montana wig on sale at Claire's and thought about Sydney. Almost bought it too but I left my job at the bank and so now I am a stay at home mommy with no money. (Eh, who needs money anyway???) So maybe we can get together one day soon and hang. Love ya girlie!!

Rhonda, you are so right. You reminded me of how much you have already "paid it forward." Katie progressed so badly while just on nifurtimox, we were really regretting our decision. But then, your guestbook messages started popping up, and other parents were e-mailing and calling, and we just took a big gulp and pressed forward...and things are better again. Take care.

I came across your site tonight from Austin Melgar's caring bridge...what a surprise it was to see that your sweet Sydney's first symptoms were the same as my son's were! He began having strange eye movements and body jerks at 15 months. It was OMS as well, and finding a diagnosis was near impossible. There simply is not much known or written about this rare disease. I will continue to follow your families path-what a blessing your girls are!

Hey guys!! It was really good seeing Sydney at clinic today! Laura always looks for her and when she don't see you all there she worries about her. I wish you could know what an inspiration Sydney is to Laura. She really looks up to Sydney. We think she is the coolest kids at clinic! What a beautiful styling girl she is. Laura's hair is getting thinner and thinner and she don't care anymore thanks to Sydney she is alright with it. Man are we blessed Rhonda! Laura said the prayers at supper for the first in a long time. It was beautiful and Sydney was first on the list to get better. We love you guys and we hope to see you all soon, you always make our visits better. We go back on Wednesday and then a stay overnight, Than I think we have to go thur-fri for more chemo and than home health comes for the weekend. Love and Prayers your way!

Rhonda and Sydney,
It was so good to see you all again in clinic. I'm sorry that I didn't get a picture of the girls. Laura was feeling so bad that I didn't have my head on straight, but that is normal for me now days! I loved the hair! Man are we blessed to have such precious RED HEADS!!! I read your journal entry and I didn't know what trouble you had. I'm telling you what I guess I would have been sent to jail because my kids are everything to me and sometimes I put my foot in my mouth, alot. I would have called that Dr. until he got his fannie down there to help out. You know these precious Angels have to go through so much that it makes me so mad when people are like that. Hey I may live in Maryville but if you need me, call me and we will woop some butt together if we have to! haha Sydney is to special to us, even if we don't get to see you all very much. She is a little Hero to us, what a very special little girl. You know she is going to be someone very important some day, who know maybe she will be the next president, runnung right beside Hilery Clinton! She could do it too! Well I am sitting up watching Laura sleep, there are some nights no matter how tired I am, I just can't sleep. You know that story I am sure. Well hope to see you all soon and we are praying for you all!

Rhonda, we've had similar situations at our ER in the town where we live (our treating hospital in SC is 1 1/2 hours away). They glare at me when I say we will NOT be sitting with other people, and send us around a corner - like that is going to help. We had one good experience, and I almost ruined it because I had a bad attitude (I was just waiting for the rudeness to begin). Anyway, I hate it that you both had to go through all that. I certainly never expect to be treated like royalty all the time, but if I'm telling someone in the ER that it is life threatening to have my child around sick people, I want to be heard - not told to sit my hysterical butt down! Are you going back to Vermont any time soon? We'll be there mid-April. Thanks for always checking on US!!!

We came across your page from Victoria Houston's carepage. We share something very in common with your family. Our daughter was diagnosed in Nov. 2006 with ganglioneuroblastoma stage 3. Chloe was 3 years old at the time. Chloe's tumor was the size of a softball, she has undergone many tests, chemo, major surgery to remove the tumor and more chemo. We found out in March of last year she was NED, and continues so far to stay that way, she will have her next MIBG in May. We will pray for your sweet little girl, she is absolutely adorable. Chloe's carepage is www.carepages.com under chloehightower, feel free to visit.

I hope you are doing good. I hate to hear that this will be a stressful week for you. I have been praying for you all day. Please tell your Mom that she is such an insperation to me. She would go to the end of the world and back for you, so many people would because you have won so many peoples hearts. You are just precious and I pray for you all the time. God answeres our prayers, it may not be when we want it, ( or maybe I get impatient sometimes) but we just have to have faith. I Love you and Laura thanks the world of you, she talks about you everyday and prays for you at breakfast, lunch and dinner and bedtime too!!!! We hope to get to see you again soon. Stay strong and keep in singing, the world is such a better place when you sing for us!! God Bless you and your family!

Lucky you, going back to Vermont! I've been talking to Dr. Sholler every day - she's the best. Katie's biopsy was fine - not sure where Sydney's is going to be, but Katie's was on her head, and it is healing nicely. Our surgeon was Dr. Sartorelli - nice guy. Had an issue about using her central line for anesthesia with the anesthesiology resident - but the regular doc was fine with it. Anyway, good luck, we will be waiting for the results and hopefully will have ours soon!

To dance for us next year. Josh & Brittany were recovering
From what I think was the flu, so we couldn’t risk

This sounds like a step in the right direction.

My name is Angie and I go to Childrens hospital with you. We were waiting in line at the christmas party this year and talked. Sydney is amazing, we have seen her several times at the hospital and she is usually bouncing around singing for people when we have seen her. I never realized how much she has been thriugh until I recently recieved a Reaching Out letter from the hospital and I went to the internet and watched her video! WOW it was GREAT! I can relate to you so much. 11 years ago we lost our first daughter to many birth defects. All I wanted is to be a mom and I prayed for that chance. I got it and we eventually had a beautiful baby girl. I always said I would be happy with one but just like you I had one more beautiful baby girl. I didn't want Emily, my oldest to feel alone in life and Laura is her best friend. I too know what you go through about asking myself is it my fault. I had to have another baby, but how could I live without her. She is usually always happy, or she was before she was diagnosed with Leukemia November 6, 2007. It is so hard to watch your 5 year old go through something like this. I just HATE CANCER! we have lost so many people in my family to this mean desease. Our first little girl died 3 days before christmas and when we were told Laura had cancer in November all I could think is here we go again. Sydney is so precious and I wish you all good luck. You are in our prayers and always of our minds. I couldn't make it without God there to pick me up, and I will pray for you strength too. While we were in the Hospital for the first time I was up all night worrying and a song came to me, It is "God will make this trial a blessing". I don't understand why and I ask why alot and I will never understand why these precious little angels have to go through so much, Lord knows we would take their place any day to spare them the hurting. Thank you for your journal, it has really helped me alot. God bless you! Hope to see you all soon!

Good Morning: I came over from Will Lacy's site; my nephew Max Mikulak also battles this sucky disease with a courage and strength that is beyond what my mind can comprehend. As I watch my sister and her husband I can see where that strength comes from--God chooses only the very special as parents for our little NB Warriors. It will not win!!!!!!

I believe in my heart that MagicWater will bring the awareness to Children's cancer that it deserves.

My prayers and God's blessings to you!

Rhonda,

You do not know me, but I am a good friend of Tiffany Rose and read your message on her carepage about Sydney and what she has been through and is going through now. I was so touched by Sydney's story that I visited her CaringBridge site to see if there were any updates, what she had been through recently, where she is headed, etc.

I read several of your posts and realized what an angel God has given you. I cannot fathom the thought of after all that she endured, still being able to tell you that it was all going to be okay. Children are so special and can see many things we adults are blind to. They seem to be more hopeful when things take a turn for the worse and always manage to keep smiling. My heart goes out to you and your family as I cannot imagine what all you are experiencing and the thousands of thoughts that run through your mind each day. Remember, there is always a bigger picture that we cannot see that only God knows and I pray that His will is revealed to you very soon.

I am praying for Sydney that she will be comforted and have the strength she needs, for your family that God will calm your fears and anxieties, and for the doctors and medical staff that they would have wisdom and insight on how to treat Sydney. Good luck and keep us posted!

Love and prayers,

Ashley White

How heart breaking this time in your lives must be, know that even when the sky is gray God knows your sorrows, your every moment and what is in the coming days, believe and trust in him, give him all your worries, all your pain and he will help you. Never give up this is just a short time of trial before you are in that heavenly place where you and your family will be free of all pains. We love you all and will pray that the Lord will bring peace into your hearts. Syd is such a sweet sweet child and what a wonderful blessing to your life. I pray that God will be with you and your family though every step. God Bless.

I came across this site looking for more treatment options for myself. I am actually one of the few who have been dignosed with neuroblastoma later in life at 18 and have been fighting it for six years. I know the agony and frustration that comes with each piece of bad news, but you will get through it because there is no other choice. When I was in the hospital one of my friends said " cancer can take many things, but as long as it doesn't take your spirit it hasn't won". I believe no truer words were ever spoken. She was eight and had the wisdom of an eighty year old.
Even though we do not know one another, we are all connected and I will pray for you and your family.

Hi Sydney, Rhonda & Baillie,

Abigail and I send our love to little Sydney. It is a blessing to us to see someone who has survived cancer and chemo and is thriving again. Abi has only two more treatments after this one and I can't wait to be in your shoes! I am writing this from the ETCH Family Resource Center as we were supposed to be here for her 7th chemo, but are stuck with a port infection instead. Her first port infection, but not what I expected to be here for!! You're so right about never feeling normal again! LOL

Anyway, I just wanted to write you and say hey and I hope we do see you again in clinic, but not for anything serious for either child! Our love to you all.

Well my loves, it is almost 2:00 in the morning and I was just thinking of all of you. I miss you guys like crazy. I need my SIS!!! Rhonda and Mike, I am soooo proud of you! You are wonderful parents. I see this when I look at Baillie and Sydney. Baillie is the best big sister in the world. Watching her protect and care for Sydney made me want to be a better person. That is a very selfless act for such a young child...be proud!! And as for Sydney, well what can I say? She is just a princess, I could ask for nothing more. Are her fingernails still pretty? Don't forget, Mommy promised her a dress-up trunk! Watching Baillie and Sydney play with balloons, sparklers, and eating those marshmallows did my heart good. And I promise you if we pay attention, Sydney is trying to teach all of us something...I know that even when I feel a LITTLE sick or down, I waste my day away moping and feeling sorry for myself. To see that sweet angel running and playing, laughing and just being Syd, that is what it is all about. She is going to enjoy her day, a day that we can never get back, no matter what. I just hate to think about how many days I have lost and can never get back by just the little things that amount to nothing. Thank you Sydney, Baillie, Mike, and Rhonda for being an inspiration for me, and I know many others.
Tell my girls that Aunt Missy loves them, and I am proud of them both.
You are a beautiful family and I am glad that you are a part of mine!!!

Hey again,
I know when Kaity had really bad skin from "craputane" we would NEVER use soap, even between the doses of accutane (no soap), and we would always put lots of vaseline on her lips. Hoping Sydney's skin doesn't get too bad, but then I guess at least you know it's in her system and it gives us more confidence it's doing what it's sposed to.

Hi, when my little girl was on accutane we covered the pill in honey, laid her back in our arms and placed the pill on the back of her tongue, it then slid down and she would sit up and have a drink, then we would repeat the process for each pill.
We tried squeezing the contents into hot milk etc but it was always very tricky and with young kids it's hard to get them to drink something that doesn't look right.
Good luck

Hello. My name is Kayanna. I'm 22 and live in Nashville, TN. A friend of mine, Mandi Acklen, is a nurse at Vanderbuilt. I heard the story about the pink hair, and let me tell you, that's the most awesome thing I've heard. Ever. It just made my day. A 4 year old, wanting nothing more than pink hair. I mean, of all things: ice cream, toys, things 4 year olds are into, but pink hair?!! I just love it. I hope you dye your hair all sorts of pink! And please, post some pictures. I know you have been to the play ground.I am also

I think that's the name of it. They made holes in Josh's
where the radiation could go stright to the tumor site.

Hi Sydney & Mommy, I love your secret picture & all the
rest.I bet when you go to RMH Dr. F. will say to walk
around RMH once a day. That will be fun, because while
you are walking you can walk right over to the play
ground. Josh had to walk in Dec. when it was freezing
cold, but that didn't stop him from going to the play
ground. Hang in there sweet girl & mommy, your time is
ticking down, and guess what your hair is going to be
begin to grow back, but I think you look beautiful bald.

I will see (e-mail)you when you get to RMH. I can never
say enough for RMH. I don't know what family would do if
they didn't have a place like this to stay while doing
their treatments. Josh's family is now saving tabs for

awaiting your am cell counts ....

Dr. Kim
nashville, Tn usa - Wednesday, March 23, 2005 8:21 PM CST
Hi Sydney & All, Mommy post is what I have been wanting
to read. Your little stem cells went straight back to
your bone marrow (3/15)where they have been hanging
out until they mature, to become red cells, white
cells, platelets and other components that make
up your blood so they can be released into your
bloodsteam.
This is what we want to read your counts are
beginning to go up so the cells can flow through
your bloodsteam.Just to think this is just day
+ 8.Your days are counting down, you have almost
got the hard part behind you. When you get your
2nd. set of stem cells after radiation, it's a
piece of cake.
The bad part is you will get to go home with that
sweet smell of corn.Butwho cares, it's the
preservative that was used to keep the stem cells
alive while they were frozen, as the perservative
finds it's way out of your body they give off an
odor.Your family will love the smell, just to know
the little stem cells have begin to grow.
Grow cells Grow. Josh's team is counting down with
you to day + 14. I think you can do it.

"Miss Stem Cell Queen Sydney ", It was great news to
read mommy's update that you did so good getting your
stem cell back. If you can use that wash for your mouth
it will be a great help. Josh's mouth was so sore he
couldn't talk for a few days. We had a time getting him
to use the mouth wash. If you could just close your eyes
and bear the bad taste it will help some from being so
sore & more places coming in your mouth & throat. After
you get through this transplant you can look back & say
there's nothing you can't do. It will make you, Baillie

I have been sending up prayers all day for you. The new

Just wanted to let you know that you all are in my prayers & my Mom & Dad(Hooch and Geneva Adkins)request prayer for Sydney & you guys every time they go to church. If you knew my Dad personally, you would know he is a talker & I mean the type of person who will talk to people in stores & restaurants that he doesn't even know. My Mom says his conversations lately always end up coming around to "Pray for little Sydney" & then he tells them all about her & you guys. As much as my Dad talks to people, I'd bet that people from her to China know Sydney. She's probably celebrity status by now. I know that a lot of people are for sure praying for her because my Dad was asking my uncle & aunt Alex & Violet Evans who live in Huntington, WV to pray for Sydney & your family & my uncle Alex already knew that Sydney lived in Knoxville, TN because someone at his church in Huntington had requested prayer for her that weekend before my Dad had ever mentioned anything about Sydney. Prayer works like a hotline right up to God & lots of people are keeping the lines hot for you guys. Keep praying & fighting. You guys will win this thing. All my prayers & thoughts to you.
