Tuesday, September 5, 2017 3:54 PM CDT All I know to do is lean into His arms and ask all of you reading to pray. I have some catching up to do with you. My last lower scope did not go exactly as we had hoped. My doctor had to be pretty aggressive removing polyps around my rectal cuff and also took a biopsy from my pouch. The recovery took about 2 weeks and had me nervous in the beginning because the way I was feeling was reminiscent of the time many years ago that I hemorrhage 5 units of blood. So needless to say, I did some praying. The pathology came back and the polyp that was removed from my pouch was pre-cancerous which is not good at all. That scope was done in July and I am having another scope on Thursday. Yes, Thursday. The reason is because my pouch is literally covered with polyps. For me with my disease at any point any or all of these polyps can become cancer. So on Thursday my doctor will put me to sleep again, this time for a longer period of time, and try to remove all of the polyps. Now for the emotions, the concerns, the worries and the need for prayers. There are always risks with any procedure, we have all heard the list of possible risks before having something done medically. With this procedure I always have concerns about the safety and viability of my pouch. This time my doctor has already let me know there will be a similar recovery and discomfort as last time. So prayers and praise and worship are what I am filling time with. On Wednesday I will be on clear liquids and then drink that nasty dreaded drink to get ready for Thursday. So if you happen to think about me between now and then and even in the coming weeks any and all prayers are so greatly appreciated. If you would like to leave me a note or any words of encouragement on my guest book I would love that also.
