Journal

Friday, November 4, 2005 9:25 AM CST

Hi everyone. I am so sorry it has been so long since I posted anything. We have been extremely busy since August. Kaitlyn was sick for the month of September, which made us have to keep rescheduling her surgery to have her port removed. We finally had the surgery last week on Oct. 26th. She got a sinus infection in September right before the first surgery date and had to be put on antibiotics for the first time in over 10 months (that was a record for us!!!!) She could not shake the infection and was on antibiotics for the whole month of September. By then between our schedule and the doctors schedule, we could not have the surgery until Oct. 26th. She did really well for the surgery. She was really sore and in pain for the first 2 days after surgery, but by late Saturday afternoon, she was beginning to get back to her old self. We took the big bandage off on Sunday evening and now she only has the steri-strips left and they are slowing coming loose. The incision looks really well. She also got to keep her port-a-cath. The doctor asked the morning of surgery if she wanted it and we said yes. He gave it to me after surgery (all cleaned up) in a container. We are going to do our science project about it. We have a Science Fair in March. So we will be showing how it works and telling what it was used for and why.
We have also had the Devil working against us for the month of October. Our store was robbed, thankfully, even tho Andrew was there alone, he was NOT hurt. Then he wrecked his car on the way to school a week after that. How he was not hurt is beyond me??? I can only say that God has been watching out for us. He will take care of us, in all circumstances.
Andrew is doing really well in school. He has a 3.0 GPA and has been accepted at two colleges. We are hoping to be able to get some scholarships. Please be praying for us on this.
Kaitlyn is doing well in school also. She has a high B-average in all of her classes. The new math we are using has been a tremendous help to us both. She is really doing so much better this year.
Neil and I are still getting thru each day. Thankfully. We are still thanking God that he is looking out for us and is keeping us safe.
We thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. Sorry again that it had been so long since my last post. I will definitely do better from now on. Please just always bear with me.

Love, Hugs, & Prayers,

Xan & family
