I came across Chris' caringbridge site while exploring the site after the diagnosis of ALL of a friend 's child. He looks so TALL and handsome in the picture. I think about Chris often. He was such a joy to have in class and such a friend to all in his class at OES. Summer is almost here! Have a great one. Fondly, Mrs. Blackmon. 3C Oakbrook Elementary ...retired

Linda: I saw you at your grandmother's repast and the time before that was when you were a little tyke and played with my grandaughter. Love, love the new picture. About time we saw the controlling force behind your son's life. Talk about you often to many people. You set an example far beyond anyone's espectations. When I parallel your life with my grandaughter's (who is also awesome) she's on an unending vaction. In her favor she's a school teacher who has always worked 2 jobs at a time. You 2 have set some high goals for young people, but not too many follow your examples. Kudos to you girl!!!!

Christopher,

I have to thank you for coming out for the duck hunt. If it is possible, I think I had more fun that you did, and I never saw you without a smile on your face.

Lucas, (my six year old) asks about you and wants to hang out again.

You are a very special child, and I am sure that the lord has great things planned for you.

God bless.

Hello Christopher! It was a genuine pleasure to meet you this past Saturday at the Youth Duck Hunt. You have breathed new life into everyone there that day. My son Parker (10) now has you on his prayer list- He had to see your photos again last night before he went to bed- I think you are HIS hero! I know you are one of mine! There has been lots of talk about YOU on our duck hunting website, you have the ability to capture the hearts and minds of so many by simply being yourself. I wish you well my friend, I hope we cross paths in life again someday. God bless you and may he hold you in the palm of his hand and grant peace and comfort to all of those around you.

Normal life is truly a blessing, as are both Chris and Breanna. If I could only put into words how much joy they bring to my life and how much it's meant to me to be their godmother and friend! In some ways, I can't believe it's almost been 5 years. In others, it seems like it never happened. Praise the Lord that Chris is a happy, healthy 6 year old who can read and write and add two digit numbers! Wow! Life is truly beautiful!!

I just read all about your beautiful boy!!
We are fighting a battle too.
We have been so exhausted.
Our 4 yr old gifl just had surgery. She has been fighting infection for almost 9 weeks with a ruptured apendix. I have slept at the hospital 14 days in the past could weeks.
Our 6 yr old Brandon has Lipoma (a brain tumor), Absence of the spectrum pellucidum, Sensory Integration, he also has Agenesis of the corpus callosum (no brain message center). Brandon also has a small pituitary gland and been diagnosed with Autism, but that is the least of his disabilities. He has all the Development Delays in gross and fine motor, communication and language delays, socialization delays - all associated with his diagnoses.
We found out when he was 2, he is now 6. It is hard too look at your baby and know what is in there for all these years.
On Aug 25 we found out his tumor IS GROWING. Brandon does not qualify for Gamma Knife surgery his tumor is in the center of his brain and it is too large. His tumor is SLOW growing so surgery is not soon, so we cherish each day with him as a gift from god.
We have HUGE medical bills all past due. We have a huge mortgage we dont know how we will pay, and with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming we dont think we will be able to have for our children because of the finances.
My husband started a business painting lines in parking lots, he is very good and has did some very big good jobs, but business is been almost zero and we really need some, so if you know any property managers or business owners please send them this way so we can get some business and we can work to pay our debts.
If you have any ideas or places we can go to get help, please email me back. We will keep your family in our prayers.
We ask you for prayer and too pass us around.
Thank you so much!!!

Man, just reading about this little guy puts tears in my eyes. It is amazing how little people have so much integrity and strength. I can only imagine how hard this has been for him and his mother, sister and grandmother. Sometimes you want to question the Lord about why he would let this happen but after hearing about Chris' story and his life thus far inspires people like me to be a better person and to stop complaining about a simple headache--you learn to count the blessings that the Lord gives you. I just pray that it will be in God's will to heal this young life and may his glory and love be sent to Chris for the times to come. And, Lord please watch after his mother and grandmother during these hard times.

Praise God. 4 years. It's a marvelous wonder and a miracle (if you ask a few folks). Glad I have been educated and been able to stand back and learn from you and your mom's examples of pushing through even when you probably are too exhausted to do so. Other choices could have been made but you have chosen love and righteousness and courage as your vehicles through life. An intentional love of a parent is a miracle, really.
And good. Get rid of those blasted tonsils. The younger, the better. Ice Cream for Bree, ice cream for Bree.
Have a good weekend.

Hate to celebrate over Bree being sick again, but at least now they'll take those tonsils out! I may be in the same boat...pretty sure I have tonsillitis again myself...will find out this afternoon.

My memories of that day 4 years ago are so deeply ingrained my mind that I can see exactly where everyone was standing in that room when the doctor said the word "neuroblastoma". I remember holding your daughter while we all cried and wondered what would happen. And now, 4 years later, my wonderful godson is almost 6... Miracle of miracles...he's still here, alive, happy...and he puts a smile on the face of all who know him. What a wonderful gift Christopher is to all of us!

See you tonight! Love and hugs to both kiddos.

Linda,

You are a REAL testimony to strength that comes supernaturally. When you are weary and burned out you just pick up and do it again. Thank you for your example. It truly, encourages myself and others in their moments of need.

2 Corinthians, Chapter 1:3-4 comes to my mind.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. (NIV)

I'm nowhere near where I hope to be spiritually someday but your situation gives me the opportunity to pray, learn and search the true resource outside myself and I thank you.

Linda, we were in the same places at different times. We flew out of Charlotte on Tuesday - but at 8:00 a.m. We got to LaGuardia late for our flight to Vermont, then they all ended up being canceled. We spent the night with Shirley Staples from the listserve - it was a blast. We were already packed for ice/cold weather, too! These South Carolinians can handle anything right! Katie has progressed, but we are doing the treatment here in Vermont and hoping for the best. Can't wait to hear about Chris's great scans! Couldn't remember if Chris still had his port, figured I'l post this just in case he does.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today announced a nationwide recall of all lots of heparin and saline pre-filled flush syringes manufactured by AM2 PAT, Inc., of Angier, N.C. Two lots have been found to be contaminated with Serratia marcescens, a bacterium that can cause serious injury or death.

These syringes are manufactured by AM2 PAT under the brand names Sierra Pre-filled, Inc. and B. Braun. They are sold in fill sizes of 3mL, 5mL and 10mL and syringe sizes of 6mL and 12mL.

Consumers and health care facilities with any of the recalled, pre-filled Heparin Lock or Normal Saline IV Flush syringes should stop using the product immediately. Health care facilities should immediately quarantine the products in their inventory and return them to their distributor. Individual consumers should return them to the location from which they were received, such as a pharmacy or hospital. They should also let their health care providers know that they have been exposed to syringes recalled by FDA.

The recall affects all lots of these products. The FDA received information that Heparin Lock Flush syringes from Lot 070926H and Normal Saline IV syringes from Lot 070917A have been found to be contaminated with Serratia marcescens, and have resulted in patient infections. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed growth of Serratia marcescens from unopened heparin syringes. http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2008/NEW01785.html

Linda, Augie had ton of ear infections until he got tubes. We haven't had one in over a year. Def worth it in my opinion. He has to put wax plugs in when he takes a bath so he doesn't get water in there but the the little aggravation is worth no continual antibiotics, fevers etc. Glad the kids are well in general. Have a great Thanksgiving !

May you continue to be strengthened and encouraged through the Word, prayer, people and circumstances. God chose a great mother, grandmother and granddad for Chris and Bree. He doesn't make mistakes or allow things to happen for no reason. God is healing the kids as I type. Continue to rest in that assurance. When you are weary and burned out may you be infused with the energy of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

So I took the kids to the grocery store this weekend and they saw all the pumpkins...that reminded them of Halloween last year, so they started talking about making jack o lanterns. I told them we'd do that again this year. Chris wants to make a scary one and Bree wants to make a smiling one with a family... :)

Wow, what an exciting first few days of school! Your kindergarten class sounds very much like Taylor's last year. He had a square rug too, he sat on an orange square. I know once you all get settled into a routine that you will love school! Taylor had a hard time with 1st grade in the beginning, but now that he has 2 weeks under his belt he is doing good.
Well, I will check back soon to see what the rest of the first week of school was like!
Love to all,

Hello Chris and Family,
The Bible says, that Jesus bored our infirmaties. That means that through the blood of Jesus we are healed from every type of illness. So, you all just believe and we will pray and the power of healing will wipe away your infirmaties and dry the tears off your families eyes. We serve a MIGHTY GOD and we thank him in advance for your healing. Stand still and see his salvation. God Bless!!!!!

I would look into singulair for Christopher. Taylor has been on it for years and it doesn't do a lot for his sinus issues, but it has shown some good things for NB kids. There is a link on Taylor's page that has the study if you want to check it out. We showed the study to Taylor's Dr's and they upped his dose from the normal kids dose of 5mls, to 10!!!
I am glad to hear the good news from the visit for both kids! I am praying all continues to go well!

Linda,
Your mom keeps us posted about the "grandbabies" and your updates compliment her musings.
What a divine appt. that was in Dallas. How COOL! Hope you had a good time.
This morning the Lord impressed upon me, what a blessing it is that you have been able to enjoy and love up on your kid's so much more than you might have thought or been able to do had CHRISTopher never had Neuroblastoma. That is a good thing. Quality of time is a good thing. From afar, it appears you spend most of your waking hours nurturing and having fun with C and B and that is a good thing.
On the scale of eternity, this life is but a vapor and y'all are living it to the utmost. Thanks for the witness.
God continue to embrace the Kees and Bridgewaters.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to stop by and send happy wishes and thoughts for 2007. Also, I wanted to wish Breanna a happy birthday. Just when I think Susanna is a really big girl, I look at how tiny her hand is and I'm reminded that she's still so small.
Tell Chris he's still in our prayers!

Hey CHRISTopher.
I'll bet your excited about CHRISTmas. Who wouldn't be? It is Jesus' birthday. The cool thing about that is we get to open His presents and He lets us take care of them for Him.
Jesus rocks!!! Well, I guess you know that since He is so close to you all the time.
Can't wait to meet you, podner.
Give Breanna and mom lots of hugs. They sure need them (it's a girl thing, though boys like them sometimes too).

Linda,

Jarrett started K5 this year. I remember feeling the same way you do right now about Christopher going to school. Only I though Jarrett would be the one terrorizing the other children. However, Jarrett loves school! He is a little behind and needs extra help due to his hearing loss, but he LOVES school. The teachers love him and have sent home only good reports. If only he could be so well behaved at home! Good luck with school and the scans.

CHRISTopher,
You got to watch the Lion King on Broadway. That is so cool!!! I talk to your grandma often and am so glad you get to do the things you do. You are more of a Hero than YOUR hero's. Thank you for the inspiration to face my insignificant challenges. The Lord doesn't give you more than you can handle but sometimes its more than Thomas the Train can pull.
Your daily life continues to be lifted up to God by many people.

I have just today learned of your website and am so happy to be able to visit with you, even if just on-line. I am your greataunt, Nancy Bridgwater. Uncle Wesley was my husband, your Pawpaw's oldest brother. I live in Galveston, Texas, right across the street from the Gulf of Mexico. There are shrimp boats, sail boats and jumping fish (even dolphin) to watch. You would love it. I would love it if you could visit me here sometime.
Linda, my e-mail address is: nbh2o@aol.com
Please send me a note with mailing address so we can be in touch. You are family and we want to be involved and of help. I am sorry it has taken us this long to reach you.
Hoping to hear from you very soon.
Love and prayers,
Aunt Nancy

Hey buddy...you just hang in there, ok? I know these antibody treatments aren't fun, but I also know that you're a super-brave kid and that you're doing a great job! I love you and I can't wait until you get home! :)

YAY on the clean scans! What wonderful news!! Its just started, but that news made my week! I couldn't be happier for you guys!

As for the dryer lint in your ear...keep stuff like that coming!! :) We mothers love a good mystery every now and then! Reminds me of the time our dog Kozmo threw up rubber bands, paper clips and what looked to be M&M shells. Its been nearly 5 years since it happened, but occasionally I think of it and become baffled all over again. We had no rubber bands, paper clips OR M&M's in the house at the time of the incident. ????

You guys have a great week. All of you remain in our prayers and we're thrilled to hear the wonderful news!

Hey Linda and Chris
That is a cute picture you have on the site. He kind of looks like a big version of Cooper. All the boys start to take on similar characteristics. We hope you have a good week and you have a safe trip to NY. What day are you in clinic this week? We still have a coloring book for Chris that you may be able to use on your flight. We will continue to pray for clean scans and we hope the pains are just something temporary.

Linda,
Praise God for you. I thank the Lord for the strength He is providing you and your family. You are in a difficult place to say the least. You are grieving: Chris's cancer, the change in lifestyle and a ton of other things. I understand that you don't have ANY downtime to sort through and heal before another situation pops up. All of us on the outside can give great advice but we aren't walking in your shoes. Rest assured we ARE walking beside you and you are being prayed for by countless CHRISTian's. And remember there is no end to our Spirits, we are eternal, regardless the path we chose. All of our suffering and pain will not even be a memory one day. You know this but a friendly reminder from another can help you refocus if but for a moment. Please continue to share your tears and joy with us. It helps us know in what area(s) to pray for you.
May you continue to be shown favor.

You're right, there are people that have it worse. But, you guys have it pretty darn bad too and it's definitely alright to feel sorry for YOURSELVES sometimes instead of just others. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. I'll will give you a call when I get off before I head up there, so let me know if you need anything. Praying for you guys every day. It is so crazy to hear what you all go through when we are just 40 feet away and the crap that we both go through is crazy. I was just thinking about the blood donors the other day and your right we just take it for granted, but really THANK YOU DONORS!!!!! Chris I really can't believe what the Dr's are saying about your counts because I have seen you the last couple of days and you aren't short on energy. You keep me laughing, don't change a thing. See you tomorrow. Our prayers for all of you continue. Our children are true blessings.

That kid is a nut! I can just imagine the kind of trouble he's going to get in during school!! I can't believe he was so unconcerned with having the thing stuck in his ear! It made me laugh. His counts, however, did NOT make me laugh. This round of chemo HAS to be strong enough for MSK! I was going to call today, but I have a monster sore throat so I'm trying to stay off the phone...maybe later on. For now, give Chris hugs for me and tell his neutrophils (sp?) to come on and grow already!! Love to all :) PS~I emailed Cyndy yesterday, so hopefully we'll have some news soon.

Good Morning Cowboy,
It was so nice seeing you yesterday. Playing baseball with your mon, and allowing me to take your photo with my new cowboy hat on.
On your web page your mom always has nice stories to tell us about you and after yesterday so do I.
When I arrived at your room I told your mon that I had just a few minutes because I had to pick up Janet from work as my car was in the shop and soon to be in a junk yard. After I was there for 5 or 10 minutes your mom had to go check on some food for you. A few minutes after she walked out the room you started telling me to leave and I did not know why. I asked if I could stay until your mom returned and you said no, I had to leave now. Just as I left your room Linda returned and asked Christopher why Mr. Ron had to leave and you said , "To go pick up Janet and I could not be late."
Being with you Cowboy I could have been an hour late and not have cared. But with your help I was not to late.

DURING THIS EASTER SEASON WE ALL KNOW THAT GOD SENT DOWN TO US HIS SON, "JESUS" AND IT WAS FOR MORE THAT JUST TO DIE FOR US "BUT TO TEACH". AND CHRISTOPHER, YOU HAVE SO MUCH TO TEACH THIS DUMB COWBOY IT WILL TAKE YOU 100 YEARS.
And Christopher as I have said before, MAY GOD BLESS US ALL WITH YOUR ABILITY TO SMILL AND THE WISDOM OF A THREE YEAR OLD.

Bye for now and see you as soon as I can.
Your Friend, Cowboy Ron

Hi Cowboy Christopher,
Pease remind your Grandmother with her bad foot she is not to try and ride your new horse! We donot wont her to fall off and have to go to the doctor to have her foot worked on again. The horse is just for you and Breanna to ride until Grandmother's foot gets better then she can ride it.
Also Cowboy Sheriff Christopher, you and some of the other cowboys and cowgirls at the MUSC Children's Hospital need to form a posse to go out and round up all the bad bugs in the world that are harming kids and have a big roundup and send them to jail so they will not be able to harm anyone ever again.
My friend, HAVE A BLESSED NIGHT.

Thanks for sharing the egg story, Linda. We are going to have our own little girl (Braedon (Bray-dun)) as soon as my wife says "It's time to go to the hospital." This certainly helps me prepare. Who knew little girls were capable of doing anything but wrapping daddy around their little fingers? Helpful stuff.
CHRISTopher, you are part of our prayer life now. Rest in the assurance that a lot of people are loving up on you. Look forward to meeting you sometime in the near future. That is going to be nice.

The egg story is so funny...my boy loves eggs and constantly gets into them. I have to hide them now in my fridge. He ended up getting them all over the other day, but my dog licked them up before I could get to them and then he got them all over MIL's white carpet when we were at her house because he wanted Grandma to make him eggs. Kids are fun.

I hope the chemo goes well. We will be checking in on you and will pray for Chris. Trenton is my mess maker and he is the same age as Chris. Best of luck and hope that the time flies while you are in the hospital and that Chris handles the chemo like the champ he has been through all of this.

Linda,
Susanna saw Christopher's picture and asked who he was. I told her that he was a handsome big boy (to which she agreed and kissed the screen!) but that he was sick, so we were checking up on him. She said, "Mommy. Boy pook? Boy pook on bed?" She had a stomach virus last week and puked on the bed. I couldn't answer. All I could think was how I wished he had *just* pooked on the bed. She's asking me where the "coot booey" is, so I'm going to wrap up and go to Chris' pictures for her to see. I just wanted to let you know that we're praying for him tonight, as always.

PS We resized the pic to be small, so hopefully it will downsize soon so it won't take forever for your guestbook to load. If it does, feel free to delete our entry. Susanna told me to "send booey pitas" which means "send boy pictures" LOL

those kids are hilarious! and so incredibly smart!!! i can't believe Breanna using flattery with your dad to get what she wants (ACTUALLY...I can :)). And by the way, where did that "big boy hamburger" thing come from? They both say it all the time! I'm not the least bit surprised that Chris understands so much. I'm sure it doesn't make giving him the shots any easier, but at least now he knows that you're hurting him to help him. I'm glad they're doing well. I miss you guys. Hope to see you in a few weeks! Hi Christopher, This is Mr. Ron
Thanks for telling me that I could come and see you at the Hospital today. To bad the Old Ed Sullivan Show is not on TV any longer. You could have been one of the stare acts. On the marquee could have been, "Christopher and the flying I.V. Pole." You will not believe this dare devil act. But o yes they will because I have it on film.
And thanks for letting me have lunch with you and your mom. That was fun also. Until next time may God Bless us all with your smile. Hope everyone has a nice night.
Bye for now, Mr. Ron

Hi Linda, Christopher, Bree and Granny Susan. It's me Annie. I am so grateful to hear that our prayers are all being answered. The prayer I hope that will be answered is you feel no pain, and that Mommy and Granny stay strong if you have to feel anything uncomfortable. Linda you are blessed with trials that will make not only you stronger, but all of that are behind you. My only other prayer that I hope will be answered is that you call on us, as your friends, your brothers and sisters in Christ, your co-workers, and even those caring strangers in this guest book to hlep you with what ever we can. We love you and Christopher, and Bree. Yeah we love you too Granny. Just ask, don't be scared, we are here for you, just ask.

Hi Christopher, this is Mr. Ron again.
I missed not seeing you today. I saw your Mom and Grandmother when I brought the photos out from the night that you left on the train to go to New York. I hope your day went well.
In my last not to you I said how I was helped by Saint Jude when I was younger. He has to be very good Saint to put up with me. So, for that reason I'm going to add the prayer to him so that if anyone would like to use it that could.
So here it is: A Prayer To Saint Jude.
GLORIOUS SAINT JUDE, WITH FAITH IN YOUR GOODNESS, WE ASK YOUR HELP TODAY. AS ONE OF CHRIST'S CHOSEN APOSTLES, YOU REMAIN A PILLAR AND FOUNDATION OF HIS CHURCH ON EARTH. YOU ARE COUNTED, WE KNOW, AMOUNG THE ELDERS WHO ALWAYS STAND BEFORE GOD'S THRONE. FROM YOUR PLACED OF GLORY WE KNOW YOU DO NOT FORGET THE NEEDS AND DIFFICULTIES OF CHRIST'S LITTLE ONES HERE, STILL STRUGGLING, LIKE ME, ON THE WAY HOME TO GOD. PLEASE INTERCEDE FOR US ALL, GRACIOUS SAINT JUDE, AND BE WITH US IN OUR DAILY TOIL AND IN ALL OUR NECESSITIES. IN CHRIST NAME, WE APPEAL TO YOU AGAIN TODAY. AMEN.
BLESSED APOSTLE, SAINT JUDE, WE CALL UPON YOU FOR HELP IN HOPE AND UTMOST CONFIDENCE. SAINT JUDE, RENOWNED HELP OF THE HOPELESS, COME TO OUR AID IN THIS TIME OF DISTRESS. SAINT JUDE, COUSIN OF OUR LORD, OBTAIN FROM OUR SAVIOR THE FAVORS WE NOW NEED AND SEEK.
PLEASE HELP CHRISTOPHER AND ALL THE OTHER CHILDREN IN THIS WORLD.
WE NEED TO BOMBARD OUR LORD WITH SO MANY REQUEST FOR THE CHILDREN THAT HE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM JUST TO GET US OFF HIS BACK.
May God Bless Us All And Keep Us In His Arms.
And Christopher have a Blessed Night.

Hi Christopher, This is your bigmouth friend Mr. Ron,
You have been in my prayers everyday . Know you will have a good train ride home with Thomas the train. Take lots of photos so that we all can see where you were at. When I was born they thought I would not live but I fooled them now for almost 68 years. And one of the people that helped me was St. Jude. I have been asking him everyday to look out for you as he did me. Have a safe trip home. Give your mom a hug for us. Will see you as soon as I can after your home.

Me again Christopher,
Before I have my 5 grandchildren come here and visit you I would like to add another note. This note speeks about a heart. Not the heart that makes our body work, but the one that makes our soul work. This heart has lots of rooms. It has rooms for Love of God, Love of Family, Love of Country, and Love of Friends. And by the grace of God these rooms are the same size.
And when I said that you took my heart it was not my entire heart, but a room. And when I said that I would like to be the photographer for your wedding I hope also to be the photographer for my grandchildren.
So bye again from your big mouth friend with Love. Mr. Ron

Good Morning Christopher,
Last night when I sent you my little letter I had made some notes on what to say but some dust or something jumped into my eyes and I left this part off.
We who have healthy children and grandchildren need more insurance. And we need to pass this on.
We have insurance on our homes, not because we think we are going to have a fire.
We have car insurance and not because we think we are going to be in a wreck today.
and we have healty insurance when we are healthy. But now I see we need more insurance.
We need "CAREINGBRIDGE INSURANCE" AND "CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT INSURANCE",
so that if we have a fire they will be there to give us a hand. It could be just talking with each other on careingbridge, or finding the cures we need.
"MAY GOD BLESS US ALL AND KEEP US IN HIS ARMS"
Also Chris tell your grandmother I will bring more pictures to her at work today.
Bye for now, Love your friend "Mr. Ron"

Ron Maguire, 1105 Wayfarer Lane <fotobyron@knology.net>
Charleston, SC 29412 - Friday, January 20, 2006 5:57 AM CST
Hi Christopher,
I would like to ask you to talk to your Grandmother and Mom for me, and tell them the following; Before I retired from SPAWAR and I would have a problem with my computer your grandmother would come and get me going. I would tell her, Susan, I.O.U. something for that.
Then when I had a problems with my home computer, guess what? Yes, your sly grandmother Susan would come to my home and fix it. And again I would say I.O.U. Susan.
Well your grandmother does not play fair. Days before your Christmas, Dec 18, 2005, your grandmother called in her I.O.U'S, and with that request I am now more in debt to your family for allowing me the privilage and honor of photographing you and your family. That Christmas day that I first met you and you said; Mr. Ron, would you take my picture with Thomas the train and again when you asked; Mr. Ron, would you take my picture on my bike, yes I took your pictures but you took my heart.
Some people wake up every morning and start complaining about everything. But you smile and ask to have your pictures taken. I only pray that God will give me the time here on earth to photograph your wedding and in that way I may be able to repay my I.O.U'S.
MAY GOD BLESS US ALL WITH YOUR POWER TO SAY, "WOULD YOU TAKE MY PICTURE."
Sincerely your friend Mr. Ron

Linda,
Hang in there! Children are resilient. Make sure you take care of yourself, so you can stay with Christopher. When my husband had a stem cell transplant, I would wear a blue mask when I went anywhere...work, the store...for months. A lot of strange looks, but it was worth it. I also went through a lot of hand washing followed with antibacterial waterless soap. Your mom can atest to that.

I am so sorry to hear of Christopher's relapse. I had not heard that until today. I will certainly have you all in prayer. Do not listen to stats, they are only for the text books!! There is a 17 year old girl we met in New York when we did 3F8. She had NB at age 3 and did chemo only. She relapsed at 13 and did chemo, stem cell transplant, accutane, 3f8, the stuff that is standard now. Anyway, last I heard from her she was still doing great and NED! There is always hope.
May 2006 bring you a cure and great joy...

I'm not sure how I found your website, I check on it every now and then. Right now you're living my worst nightmare and I'm so sorry. My daughter also has NB. We had our treatment at Sloan, and they treat a lot of relapsed kids. The have a few new clinical trials open for relapsed neuroblastoma. Please call Dr. Kushner, he was very quick to call us back when we were diagnosed, about this time last year. If there's anything I can help with please e-mail me. We did some travelling with Corporate Angels and stayed at the Ronald Macdonald. Good luck. I'll be checking and of course praying a cure also.

Since I am unable to login to update, I will post the update here. Chris came through surgery with flying colors! He is in Pediatric ICU for the night and was asking for a glass of sweet tea while he was still in the recovery room. They put on "Finding Nemo" so he could watch a movie while he rests. You go on and be that petulant child asking God for a cure. I promise you, you're not the only one who's storming heaven on Chris's behalf...and on behalf of all NB kids.... Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers daily. I am so sorry to hear about the spot on his head. My son was diagnosed with NB May 2004 and passed away July 2005. We met a child that his tumor was on his head only. There was never anything else in his body. They went in and were able to remove all the tissue that the cancer had taken over. It was very large to begin with. It was right above his left ear. He is now in remission and has been since Feb 14th. I believe the Doctors will be able to take care of your son and he will be NED. May God walk along with you in this time of pain and worry.
God Bless You

Hello from Pennsylvania,

I am doing the prescan NED dance for you. Really, I want to wish you lots of luck on scans. Always a scarey time for us parents. Extra prayers coming your way for continued NED.
I am by no means an expert....I understand the scan thing related to excessive radiation exposure with scans but I don't know which is better. Was Chris MIBG positive at diagnosis? I just think that MIBG is more specific to NB.
Jared's primary tumor was not MIBG positive at dx and our doctor still does MIBG scans. We also do CT at my request due to not being MIBG positive and I am afraid the MIBG scan may miss something. Just my thinking.

Love the idea of the Nemo bed. Glad it worked to get her in her bed. Bet she loves it. It sounds neat.

Keeping Chris and you all in my prayers for scans. Take care.

Christopher looks so great. hope you all had a happy halloween. I check in on Christopher just about every week. My grandson Tanner Gilbert was DX with neuroblastoma at 7 1/2 months old and has just gotten off treatment on Nov 3rd. He went thru numerous doses of chemo then a surgery to remove his Tumor last year in October and was considered NED at that time. He still had to go thru 2 stem cell transplants one in Nov of 2004 and another in Jan of 2005, the reason for thsi is because he is N-myc amplified. He also did 15 rounds of radiation and 6 months of Accutane. Through all this he was such a trooper, he had scans done in July and they came back clean, ahd again this past October and still NED. We feel we have been very blessed and to think his doctors didn't think he would make it to his 1st birthday, but here he is 2 years old as of October 30th. So just to let everyone know out there that even when you think everything is going bad there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Oh no, not ants!!!!! Poor you and Christopher. At least one of you were saved, since they were carried. She probably was looking at you all as if you were crazy. I would have loved to see the ants in your pants dance too. but only as an observer and not as a participant. Ha ha. Guess it could've been worse. Have a great week and thank you for sharing that story. It is funny.

Sounds like you had a CRAZY weekend! Poor Breanna...Chris has a room and Nee Nee's and at Uncle Stephen's, but what about Breanna? Ha ha...I was thinking today...can't believe she'll be TWO in January. They're both growing up too fast. I miss you guys so so much and can't wait to see you...sometime. You're all in my prayers, as always. Love and hugs to everyone! :)

Hi, thanks for signing the guestbook. I am glad to have found this site. I am glad that your little guy is NED and will be sending prayers for it remain that way. I am still waiting on daddy and Taylor to get home from scans. Scans are done, but Dr. is tied up. Anyway.....
AS for the potty training, uurgh! Taylor was 3 1/2 when he finally got it. He was beginng to get it at 2 1/2, but we started going to NYC for 3F8 and that was too hard, so we stopped. He started back to preschool last summer and within a week he was trained. Now if I can get Logan out of diapers it will be a great day!
Again, thanks for stopping by. I will be sure to bookmark you guys and stop in again.
Love and prayers,
Kim Watts

Hope you are all doing well. It does bite when your air goes on the fritz in the summer. Hope you are all cool and comfortable, even christopher in his pajamas. That is funny.
Will keep you extended family in Texas in our prayers too. Hope all is going well for them. This year has been a bad one for weather storms.
Take care and thank you for stopping by Jared's page.

Linda,
Good stuff. I agree with Agnes. You articulate yourself well through your writing and paint pictures for us.
Spoke with your mom the other day and she is SO proud of Chris and Breanna. Glad they are out and about and enjoying private day care.
And thanks for sharing the "don't hit yourself" game. As an only child was not "blessed" to play the game with a sibling.
Will keep checking this site and saying a flash prayer for the family as you are placed on my heart.

Dear CHRISTopher,
You are the apple of God's eye. He is loving up on you as He soothes and heals you during this wretched season of your life. This is not what you would have asked for but this desert walk will strengthen you for future battles and victories. To those who have been following your life and praying for you, it is obvious that angels keep you.
Praise God for you, Briana, Linda and Josh. We will keep lifting ALL of you up to the Lord.

Linda, I've been following Chris' treatment from all the e-mails between you, Sue, and your Grandmother. Want you to know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers and wish you all the best. Your strength is remarkable and it, along with your family and friend's love will help Chris greatly. Love you and miss you... Aunt Margaret

To Chris and his family - My sister, Nancy Tant, works at SPAWAR with Christopher's grandmother, and she sent me (and others) info about Chris and your website. Please know that there are people all across the country who are thinking of you, praying for you, and sending you best wishes for peace and complete recovery. Stay strong, and remember to take good care of YOURSELVES, too! God bless.
