hello,
Christopher went to boston to follow up with the eye specialist, he has horners syndrome in his right eye. There is nothing they can do for it. He can use his glasses if they are helpful for him. His eye does strain sometimes when he is in school especially. That is when the headaches come in. We also went for the bloodwork for celiac disease. That came back normal wich is excellent news. We wouldn't want to have to switch his diet around. He is still eating his chicken nuggets and french fries. I buy them in bulk. It is getting harder and harder to get him to eat something different. Chris is going for his mri on nov. 29 we are praying for clear scans!!!!! after that test comes back we will be going to see the oncologist for his follow up. Chris has been very busy with all his activities. He just received his belt loops in cub scouts, He also has two badges that he earned. On Thursdays he goes to journalism, On mondays he goes to basketball. He is a very busy young man. He keeps me going. I love every minute of it. Well I will update again soon.

Christopher is doing well. He has come home from camp. He really enjoyed himself there. He went fishing and also swimming. He has an award for swimming that he left at camp by accident. He was also part of a talent show. His part was to eat a piece of toast with no hands. That must of been fun to watch. He also showed me something they did at camp called the oreo challenge.. take the oreo apart and lick it, stick it on your forehead and wiggle your face till it falls in your mouth. Interesting???? well they do some fun stuff at camp. He loves going to the hole in the wall gang camp. He is already looking forward to next summer. Chris is enjoying his summer with no school. He did really well on his report card. We are going to go to lazer tag. They give him a free game for his card. In september we are hoping he goes to the charter school. He might have to start the year in the school he has been in until there is an opening. Chris went to six flags with his dad and went on the scream ride. CRAZY... Mom has a hard time with those rides. He will go byhimself he doesn't care. Christopher is a thrill seeker all the way. He even wants to came on the sky scrapper with me. You go about 1200 ft. in the air a bungee down and swing over the park. He really likes that stuff. The older he is getting the more daring he gets. I will be posting more pics soon. We are going to boston for urology and gastro. in july for a check up on the same day. That doesn't happen to often. He is almost off treatment for 4 years. We can't wait till the 5 year mark. We are going to celebrate with him. He will be 9 in sept. When he is 5 yrs. out he will be 10!!!!!! Keep praying every day that the beast does not come back. Hello,
Christopher is doing well. He will be going to Boston for a MRI scan on Thurs. We are going to take the train there. Christopher loves to take the train. He doesn't like to take the time off of school. He loves school. Chris made the Honor Roll for 2nd term. He is still in karate, in June he will be promoted to 2nd green. April 28th he starts baseball he is on the Bulls team. We are very busy. This summer Christopher is going to his Grandparents house for 2 weeks in Florida. He is flying alone. That scares me but he loves it. He went last year and didn't mind it at all. They give him all the soda he wants.... Mommy doesn't do that. He has been asking for diet soda, which has no sugar in it. Christopher was daring this week and tried to ride his friends mini bike, he didn't do so well. He fell off of it and hurt his hand. I had to tell him that you have to be very careful on motorized bikes. He was thinking that it's like a bicycle. The most important part was to ask permission from Mom first.. Which he didn't. He knows now unfortunatly had to happen that way. He is a boy and I'm sure he will be getting more daring than ever as he gets older. When we hear results from test I will post them. Thank You for your support and prayers.

Hello,
HAPPY HOLIDAY'S to all. Christopher is doing o.k. right now. He is at his Dad's house for a long weekend. We will be going to the clinic on the 8th of Dec. for a check up. We also have to go to the dentist for a filling on Christopher's tooth. He isn't going to like that very much. He will be o.k. I just have to keep telling him he is a big boy and he can do it. I always reward him after having a hard time in doctors offices. I feel really bad that he has to go often. He really thinks he is better and doesn't understand we need to do testing to be sure nothing comes back. He is doing so well in his walking and running around. He got a new pair of sneakers he was so happy that he can go really fast in them. Christopher is doing well in school. "knock on wood" no sicknesses yet... He enjoys school so much. He loves to go to school. You can't tell him he needs to miss a day, he will get upset that he can't go. Well when I get some info on results from Christopher's CT scan I will post them. Thank You to all for your support and prayers.

Saturday, November 20, 2004 2:36 PM CST

Hello,
We had to take an unexpected trip to Boston on Friday. Christopher was at school on Thursday and had an accident, this is not a normal thing for Christopher. He is fully ptty-trained. He was acting in a stange way. We took him to the Doctors and they had to do some test to rule things out. He did have a urine test to see for infection and that was o.k. They also took his counts those too were good. He had his sugar checked and that to was good. We then went to get an x-ray of his abdomen. That x-ray showed that he is really backed up. The Oncoligist put him on Miralax for chronic constapation. We are contacting the Surgeon on Monday. We need to find out if this is caused from the surgery he had to resect the tumor. At the time of surgery Christopher did not end up needing the colostomy bag. He seems to have been doing well with it but, now there is a concern about this. We are hoping that this will be constapation only and nothing more. Christopher is not happy about wearing the pull-ups in school, because he is a big boy now and he is better. He really doesn't understand that the medicine to clean him out is making him go uncontrolably. In order to go to school it has to contained. We are trying for him not to miss too much school this year. He really want to go to kidnagarten in sept. when he is 6. He has been doing so well with everything now we have this minor set back. We will get through this safe and sound. I just worry for Christopher. He doesn't ever complain of pain. He is so happy and enjoys every day of his life to the fullest. We love him and he will be o.k. Well thank you for all your support and prayers. I will upate again ehen I have more info. Christopher is at his dad's house this weekend. He will be home Sun. night.

Love,
Christopher and Lisa

Hello,
Christopher is doing really well right now. He has been very excited about his birthday party on Sat. We rented a spongebob bouncer for him, we are going to have water play and plenty of games to play. The weather is supposed to be beautiful out in the 80's.
On Sunday night Christopher got to meet the Legendary wrestler Mick Foley. They had a benifit for Christopher. He also got a picture taken with him. He enjoyed himself. Christopher was even in the papers again. I'm going to try to put it on the page.
Christopher has been enjoying himself. He has been riding his bike. He now stand up while pedeling his bike. It makes me so nervous but, I have to let him do it. He is so determined to do something.
We took a trip to the mall recently, and Christopher wanted to try this set up they had. It was a harnest around you. You jump off an air mattress and in the air flipping around and jumping really really high. He also loved doing that.
Christopher also can't wait to start school on the 8th. He enjoys school and likes to play with his friends. Most important he loves to learn. He is so smart. He is determined to go on a school bus instead of me bringing him.
We leave to go to Florida on the 19th of Sept. Christopher is excited. We will be there for a week. I can't wait either. I want to see my son have the most wonderful time he's had in a year. It is his week to enjoy himself and enjoy watching him smile and have fun like a 5 year old. boy. We will take lots of pictures.
In my closing there is a 50 mile bike ride that the Hospital does for fundraising, if you are interested in sponsoring Steve in the ride please e-mail me A.S.A.P. the ride will be held on Sept.11. Thank You much and I will update again Thanks, Lisa and Christopher.

Hello,
Christopher is doing well now. He had gotton that horrible bug going around this week. He is feeling fine now. Mommy and Steve also cought the bug. Well now the bug is out and hope it stays out. We went to the clinic on Thursday for the MRI. It was a long one very extensive. Christopher had slept through the whole test without moving. We were so very proud of him. Christopher will win his battle with Cancer!!! We also talked to the Oncology Doctor about following up sooner than what the protocol calls for. We are watching to make sure that the " scar tissue" they say is possibly there, does not grow. That would not be good. We are praying and hoping that his MRI comes out clean. We are waiting patiently for the results. Christopher is spending the weekend with his Dad. He will come home on Sunday. Christopher is getting more excited about his birthday party on the 4th of Sept. He deserves to have something nice and party for all the fighting he has had to do. We try to make him as happy as he can be everyday. There is no problem with that, he is always smiling, laghing or telling jokes. Christopher will be starting school on the 8th of Sept.
Christopher is going to receive his wish to go to Disney world in Florida on Sept. 19-25. He is excited about going. We will take lots of pictures. This time is for Christopher to put all the medical stuff aside and to enjoy being a 5 year old. in Disney world seeing and doing whats he really wants. Christopher will have a smile on his face.
On Sept.11 we will be going to the cycle for life bike ride for the floating hospital for children. The money is used for the Child life Sevices for the clinic. This will be held in Marblehead Ma. 50 mile bike ride. Steve has been training to ride in the ride. Also Christopher's Dad and a couple of friends along with many others raising money for the children at the hospital. We have been taking sponsors for the ride. If you are interested in sponsoring Steve's ride e mail Listmeyou2@wmconnect.com. Thank You to everyone who has sponsored already. Thank You also for praying for my son and I will update when I have results from the MRI.

I'm also going to pick up a spongebob piniatta and fill it with goodies. Christopher's favorite games he wants to play at his party are musical chairs, and pin the tail on the donkey. What an awsome day that will be 5 years old. Boy time flies by.
On Sept. 8, Christopher will start school. He is ready to go. I am just really nervous, I worry hoping he doesn't get sick. He will be fine. Christopher is going on the 3rd year in preschool. Hello,
Christopher had a really good weekend at his Dad's house. He was really excited to go with his Dad. Christopher went to the zoo with his brother and had a good time. When he came home on Sunday, I took him to a parade that the city had for Fall River Celebrates America. It is an anual thing that they do. Christopher also went to the carnival he had alot of fun on the rides. He went on the giant slide, dragon roller coaster, flying dino, the fire engine and of course the train. He was so very happy. Christopher said I love to be in the city. He would rather be here than in Boston. He hasn't really been able to go and do much during treatment because of counts or he wasn't feeling hot. Now he is ready to roll. He doesn't need his GCSF shot which is really exciting. Sometimes he kids around and says " MoM you forgot my needle in my leg" than he will say just kidding. Christopher gets a laugh out of it. It is really hot today so we decided to go over a friends house to play. He enjoyed playing with Hunter and Savanah. They are 15 mo. old twins. Christopher enjoys other children. He just can't wait to go to school in Sept. He picked out a spider man lunch bag for school. We are due back to the clinic on the 19th of Aug. for counts and we also have an MRI and a chest x-ray. We are praying that the MRI is clear!!!!! Christopher has been through so much like many other little ones battling Cancer. They are all so very strong and I have to thank my son for also helping me stay strong through this battle also. He is a fighter and will keep on fighting. Thank You all for your support. Be sure to leave a hello in our guestbook. Christopher loves to get his mail.

Thursday, August 5, 2004 9:25 PM CDT

Hello,
We came home from the clinic today. Christopher's counts were good his HCT. 32.2 - Plt. 110,000 - WBC 4,200. The good news is NO MORE GCSF SHOTS. Horray Christopher!!!!
I met with the Doc. today. Christopher's Bone Scan came out CLEAR... His CT Scan showed an abnormality in the soft-tissue and muscle in his right leg. They noticed a tiny size unidentifiable spot in his right leg between the knee and the ankle. We are due for an MRI on Aug.19th. We will see if it stays the same size, goes away or gets bigger which we really don't want. We will keep positive through this. Right now he is doing well. There are no complaints from him. Christopher went down to the carnival in the city, he had a great time on the rides. He really loved every minute of it. Well this weekend Christopher will be going to his Dad's house. We finally have a good week. He is excited. Please keep Christopher on your prayer list. Christopher has fought a tough battle to destroy this beast called CANCER. He will beat it just like Christopher says. All that he has been through he really is a strong boy. He enjoys every day that he has to the fullest. Christopher is excited about starting school in Sept. He wants me to let him go on the Bus. Well that will be a tough time for me. My little boy is going to be 5 years old on Sept.3 time really passes by. Well I gotta go for now. Thank You all for your support and prayers.

Thursday, July 29, 2004 9:00 PM CDT

Hello,
Christopher is doing really well today. He has had a fun day. The weather was beautiful outside today. We went out for a bike ride. That seems to be his favorite especially because of the new wheels. We also were able to find some new dinosaurs in the store today, he was really excited about that. We also found him a little turtle and a frog that he also likes. He is an animal kid. I don't really like them especially if they are real. Christopher really loves to feed is fish in the morning. His name is who, who.
Well we will be going to the clinic tommorrow for a check on his counts. We are hoping that they are up and doesn't need any blood. Christopher knows that there will be no more yukky medicine and looks forward to having no more GCSF shots also. We are hoping to stop the shot tommorrow. If all goes well Christopher will be going over Dad's house for the weekend. He will enjoy seeing his brother maxx.
There are some new pictures be sure to check them out if you have a chance. Thank You for your support!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, July 28, 2004 5:45 PM CDT

Hello everyone,
Great News July 22,2003 was Christopher's last treatment for Chemotherapy. He didn't have such a good treatment this time. But he is doing fine now. We are soo happy that there will not be anymore "yukky medicine" right now. Christopher has been such a fighter through all of this. He is my Angel. Christopher also helped Mommy stay strong through all of this also. He never really complained about anything. He will beat this... Christopher will be going back to the clinic on Friday to check counts again. We are hoping that his counts will come up and stay up. Also we are hoping and praying for clear scans on Aug.2
Christopher will have his port in place for another 8 months at least. We can't wait for the day that comes out. Christopher is getting ready for school. He will be going to preschool in Sept. He will be in a 1/2 day program. Christopher really needs to be around children more and get back into a normal routine without the Hospital visits. We will be going to the clinic at least once a week and than every month after that. Than it will be on a yearly visit to the clinic. We will follow with the radioligist every 6 months. Christopher has been going to the library, he joined a reading club. For every 20 books read you move on a map to reach a treasure. When you reach 100 that marks the X you get a pirate flag. He really enjoys it. He loves listening to stories. We also got him some new training wheels for his bike. They are much thicker, makes Mommy feel more comfortable that he won't go over. He really flies around on it now. It is really good excersise for his legs also. Well I will try to update over the weekend. Thank You for all your support and prayers....

Saturday, July 17, 2004 8:17 PM CDT

Hello,
Christopher is doing well. He is spending the weekend with his Dad, Michele and Maxx. Christopher went to the Hospital on Friday to follow up with the Radioligist. He feels that Christopher's problems with his legs and bowels are from the extensive surgery he got back in Dec. We are going to see the surgeon who did Christopher's and see what he thinks we should do. This could be temperary or permanant. There were nurves and muscles involved in the suergery. We hope for the best. Christopher doesn't let anything stop him from running around like a 4 year old.
Christopher is excited that his Birthday is coming. He is going to be 5. We are going to get a bubble machine that continuasly blows bubbles for 6 hours. "he loves bubbles"
I am also looking to get the moonwalkers for children to jump around in. I have to make sure we have clearence for it in the yard. Christopher hasn't decided what theme he wants for his birthday. He still has time. In Sept. christopher will be returning to school. He says he wants to go back, but doesn't want me to stay. That is an awsome sign. It is only for 1/2 days(3 hours). Mommy will be o.k. I am nervous about him going back after ending treatment. He will also still have his line in place. Well he is ready so mommy is ready too. He is getting older and more independant. We love him dearly and are very greatful for the loving and happy son we have. I will be updating this journal during the week. Thank You all for your support and prayers.

Wednesday, July 14, 2004 8:22 PM CDT

Hello,
Christopher is doing well right now. We are due back to the clinic on Friday. We have a radiation follow up, and an apt. with orthopedics for his leg. We are working on getting some physical therapy. We have been trying to enjoy the outdoors. The weather hasn't been that good the past couple of days.
This weekend is a good weekend for Christopher to go to his Dad's house for a couple of days. Christopher's counts are rising and Maxx is feeling better.
Christopher has been telling his own jokes. He is so very funny. The stuff he comes out with. He is growing up so fast. In another 2 months he will be 5 years old. We are going to have a big party for him. Christopher has a treatment on July 22, hopefully this one won't be too bad on him. He always finds the strength to his silly self. We love him so much , he is a fighter. Well I have to go. Thank You for all your support.

Saturday, July 10, 2004 8:48 AM CDT

Hello,
Christopher is doing well today. We are due to go to the clinic on Monday to check counts. Christopher was not able to go to his Dads for the weekend. His counts are not that good and maxx may have strep. We hope he feels better soon. Christopher really misses his brother Maxx. Next weekend will be a good one. Christopher's counts will go up and Maxx will feel better. We are going to the store to get Christopher sneakers. Today we are going to the beach. Were going to wait until later so it can cool off a bit. Christopher loves to throw rocks in the water. He also loves to play in the sand. We went to the park yesterday. He has alot of fun. Christopher was swinging like a monkey on the bars. It makes me nervous but, he is a boy and he is going to swing anyway. I'm there to protect him. He already had the cast on his foot. We don't want another one.
Christopher is still taking the laxitive and it doesn't seem to be working to much. We will follow up on that also this week. They are going to take more x-rays to see how much is still backed up. He doesn't complain much at all so it is difficult to tell when he is bothered by something. Christopher is a very happy and bright child We love him dearly. He is a fighter and we will complete this battle. Thank You for your support and prayers and I will update this journal again next week.

Thursday, July 8, 2004 2:06 PM CDT

Hello,
I would like to ask if you could please pray for Colby Dufour's family. Colby passed away he was 2 years old. fighting cancer. There will be a funeral mass on Sat. that I will be going to pay my respects.
Christopher went to the clinic today. His counts are dropping a little. We have to continue the shot till tommorrow. On Monday we are due back for counts again. We also talked about Christopher's bowel problem. He is going to be on a laxitive for a week. After that they will x-ray him again to see if it had gotten any better. Hopefully it does. If for some reason it doesn't work, they may have to opperate to take the mesh out that he has in him holding his intstines. Our last treatment is coming. We really don't need any complications. We can hope for the best. Christopher is playing with his spider-man toys. That is one of his new themes.
I have been talking to Christopher about starting school in September. He shows signs of not wanting to part from Mommy. He thinks because he is going to be 5 he can go to k with all the others friend he had in class. He has to wait another year because of the way his Birthday falls. If he was born 2 days earlier he would be going to k this year.
He is a smart child. He will do o.k. in school. Well I will be updating this journal over the weekend. Thank You for your support and prayers.

Tuesday, July 6, 2004 3:01 PM CDT

Hello,
There are some new pictures in the photo album. Check them out if you have a chance. Christopher went to the clinic today. His counts were good, they really haven't fallen yet. We will go back Thurs. to check counts again. They took some X-rays today of his foot. The Doctor removed his cast. What a releif, now it's bath time. Christopher is really excited about that. We also had an X-ray taken to see if he is backed up. He has a large amount of bowel in the colan. He is having movements but they are not solid. He is put on Miralax to help him. We are going to speak to the Surgeon who did his surgery. Hopefully this is something that we can get control of. When he had his surgery in December, The Doctor had him marked for a colostomy bag they really beleived he would need one. Miraculasly Christopher came out of surgery without a bag. We were so very happy about that. Now he is having problems so I'm nervous. I don't want to see Christopher go through anymore battles. He has had enough. We can pray that everything will turn out good. As long as Christopher remains happy I'm Happy. He is all over the place without his cast on. He says "look mom I'm running" He is so cute. Well I have to be going. Thank You for all of your support and prayers.

Saturday, July 3, 2004 6:07 PM CDT

Hello,
Christopher is doing good. He is spending tonight over his Dad's house. He will be coming home tommorrow. We are planning on going to see the fireworks in Fall River on Sunday. Christopher really enjoys them. We walk from our house down to the park. We avoid traffic that way. There are some new pictures in the photo album, please be sure to check them out. Christopher is going to Boston on Tuesday to have his cast removed. We need to go back on Thursday for a radiation follow up apt. He has 2 weeks off from treatment and then his last addmission on July 22. We are looking soo forward to this. We will keep praying for clear scans. Christopher is very strong and such a happy little guy. Well we hope for the best for him. Christopher is scedualed to return back into the pre-k program at the school in Sept. It is really a bummer that he will be 5 years old when school starts, but has to wait till he is 6 to go to k. He missed the cut off by 2 days. We are not to worried about this he is a very smart child. We work with him at home so he will be o.k. Christopher will be the taller one in the class. He really is sprouting up.I will be updating next weeek. Thank You all for your support and prayers.

Friday, July 2, 2004 8:34 PM CDT

Hello,
Christopher is doing well today. We went into the hospital on Wed. to check counts. They ended up addmitting him for his Chemo stay that was suposed to be on Thurs. He had a really tough night after Chemo. He was vommitting quite a bit. The Doctors gave him some extra pre meds to help with vommitting. Christopher bounced back Friday so we were able to come home for the weekend.
July 22 is Christopher's last schedualed treatment. We have test set up for Aug. 6 . He is going to have a CAT scan, MRI, Bone Scan. We will be praying for clear scans. Christopher is a true fighter and he will beat this horrible monster that was in his little body. Christopher has done really well through all he has been through. We are soo very proud of him for his accomplishments he has made in the past year.
We are due to go back to the hospital on Tuesday for a check of counts and to have his cast removed from his foot. We will be soo very happy when that day is here. He wants to go to the beach and throw rocks in the water. He also loves taking bubble baths. The worst thing about the cast is it smells. Christopher keeps trying to put things down in it to scratch an itch. We really have to watch him with that. Well I guess I better be going for now. i will be updating over the weekend. Thank You to everyone for your support and prayers.

Hello,
Christopher went to clinic today for his Vincristine Chemo. His counts did drop and they are begining to rise up. His ANC is 650. It needs to be at least 1200 to give the Chemo on Thursday for the 48 hour addmission. Dr. said that they will go up. He is doing better on his foot. He is getting around pretty good with his cast on. It started to itch him today. He wanted to know when it comes off. We have another week to go with it. We went for ice cream today. Christopher loves vanilla ice cream. We also went to the store and he was able to pick out a new DVD movie Land Before Time. He really likes dinosaurs. Well I have to be going. Thank you for your support and prayers.

Wednesday, June 23, 2004 4:33 PM CDT

Hello,
Christopher's counts were really good this weekend and still going good. We had to go back to Boston on Monday because, Cristopher fell and landed the wrong way on his right foot. He was complaining about it all morning. I knew there had to be something wrong he never complains much. Come to find out he had a small Fracture to the foot. The doctors put a cast on it for 2 weeks. He seems to be doing o.k. with it. He is walking much better than before. Other than the injury he is doing really well. We will be going back to the clinic tommorrow for Vincristine chemo. We will be coming back home same day. Next week we have an overnight addmission, than for 2 weeks no chemo than the last schedualed addmission is for July 22,2004. We are sooo very proud of Christopher for doing such a good job and fighting strong. He is truely a hero. We will pray for clear scans. Thank You for your support and prayers.

Saturday, June 19, 2004 8:21 PM CDT

Hello,
Christopher is doing well right now. we went to the clinic on Thursday for his counts and Chemo. His counts were good they didn't fall as much as they normally do at this time after treatment. The Doctor said his bone marrow is working to keep his counts higher. His HCT was 38.4 on Thursday. His PLT were 144,000. His WBC was 2,300. And most important his ANC was 4,000 which is really how they decide if he needs the GCSF shot. Christopher was very happy to hear that his last one this cycle was on Friday. The nurse will come on Monday to draw labs.
On Friday Christopher and I participated in the Greater Fall River Relay for Life at our local High School. We signed Christopher up for the Survivors walk. Soon after they approached me and asked if it was o.k. for Christopher to have the responsibility of cutting the opening ribbon to kick off the walk, for a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Christopher also was able to release the dove from his hands. It was a very touching night. Christopher was in the local newspaper. They opened up by saying that "Usually a 4 year old boy and a 88 year old man don't have much in common but, tonight Christopher Litchfield and Hank Harrington are the youngest and the eldest cancer survivors at the sixth annual Relay For Life in Fall River".
This was a really enjoyable night Christopher walked 6 times around the track with breaks in between. He did really well and loved every minute of it. When it was time to come home he fell right to sleep in the car. He was very exhausted from having sooo much fun. I did this for my son and also in memory of my mother who passed away in 1988 of breast cancer. We can beat this. Keep praying and the end of treatment are coming near. Thank You for your support and prayers.

Tuesday, June 15, 2004 7:38 PM CDT

Hello,
Christopher went to the clinic today to check counts. His counts actually went up. Which is unusual for 5 days after a Overnight chemo stay. WBC 12,000. PLT 150,000. and his HCT 38. Christopher's counts might fall over the weekend or they could start to go up. We will have to wait and see. You never can tell. Christopher didn't have to do the GCSF shot today. Christopher will start again tommorrow with GCSF until we go back to clinic on Thursday to check counts and get Vincristine chemo.
There are not many weeks left to the end of the protocol. We will still have to go back weekly to get MRI, CAT scans, spinal taps, and bone marrow test along with bloodwork. At the end of his treatments I will be so very happy for Christopher he is a really stong boy. He makes me very proud. Sometimes it's scary coming to the end of treatment. We just want to pray for clear scans and hope this monster doesn't come back. Until I update again Thank You to everyone for your support.

Saturday, June 12, 2004 6:21 PM CDT

Hello,
Christopher was in the hospital on Thursday for his treatment. This round was very hrd on him. He had alot of vommitting. All day Friday he rested in bed. His legs have been bothering him. The Doctor said that the Vincristine Chemo was causing the leg pain. When he received his Chemo they gave him 1/2 the dose on Vincristine. Sat. morning the bloodwork showed that he needed a blood transfusion. His HCT was 24. His platletts were good. He started his GCSF shot today so when he comes home tommorrow I will continue to that for 5-7 days. We will have a nurse come to the house on Tuesday to check his counts. Hopefully we won't need any more blood. We were really excited to hear that Christopher's last scheduled treatment is July 22, 2004. He will need to get blood the following week, than we can start with being in rimmission. We will keep our prayers going. We are going to be going for a MRI, Cat Scan, and a spinal tap for post treatment. September is Christopher's Birthday he will be 5 years old. We are going to have a big party for him. I'm working on a parade just like he wants. Well I'm going to go for now. Will keep updating. Thank you for your support.

Tuesday, June 8, 2004 9:35 AM CDT

Hello,
Christopher is doing really well. It is a beautiful day out today. Christopher wants to go down to the Battleship Cove to ride his bike. Which is a great idea they even have a feild you can play ball at. Yesterday Christopher and I went to the store he wanted a baseball bat and a ball. He really loves to play baseball. He is getting older now and I find him wanting to play more sports, which I have no problem with it. I just have to worry about him getting hurt. Christopher wants to be able to play like children his age and he is doing really well, considering his legs and feet bother him when he does alot of walking or running. He tries very hard. He is a true fighter. we are so very proud of our little boy. Thank You to all and I will update the journal at the Hospital if I can on Thursday or Friday.

Monday, June 7, 2004 8:31 AM CDT

Hello,
Christopher came home from his Dad's house last night. He had fun, he also felt good. This week is his good week for Christopher. He was excited he really wanted to go to school today, but the teacher told me that there are 3 kids in his classroom that came in this morning not feeling to well. Two of the children have green from the nose which is not a good sign and there was also another child who has a barking cough which they thoght could be croup. I was frustrated because the parents shouldn't be sending there preschoolers to school sick. I decided it would be best for Christopher not to attend. We really don't want him to catch anything that we could help anyway. Christopher goes into the Hospital for Chemo on Thursday. We are now counting our weeks left. We will keep praying for clear scans. Thank You to everyone for your support and prayers.

Saturday, June 5, 2004 10:45 AM CDT

Hello,
Christopher is doing really well right now. He is spending the weekend with Dad, Michele and Maxx. He was sooo very sad yesterday, I forgot the carseat in the car and Steve had left for work. Christopher was crying saying. "I can't go to my Dad's house now MoM" Before Michele came to pick him up she stopped at the store and bought him another carseat. Christopher was so happy that he was able to go this weekend to his Dad's. This is a good week for Christopher. We will be going back on Thursday for overnight Chemo treatment. Christopher has 9 weeks left. We are excited and also scared. We will make it through this. Christopher has been dealing with all this change well.
I went to a meeting at Christopher's school on Friday. He missed the cut off date for grade K. He is going to be in preschool for another year. This will be his 3rd year. He wasn't in school much this year because of illness. The Teacher said if they find he does well form Sept-Dec and is able to attend 1/2 day program M-F they will be able to put him in the intergrated K. If that plan doesn't work we will sign him for K in April so he will be 6 when he goes to K.
Christopher wants to go to K with the rest of the preschool friend but he was born 2 days after the cut-off. He will be o.k. Christopher loves to go. He is such a very happy child. It makes me feel so happy. Thank You to everyone for your support.

Thursday, June 3, 2004 4:50 PM CDT

Hello,

The Doctor said he wouldn't need the GCSF shot, his counts will continue to rise. Next Thursday we go to the Hospital for an addmission. The time is coming closer to being finished with treatments for the 52 week proacol. Christopher is a true fighter. He is going to be fine. He is now sleeping peacfully in the room. Mommy needs to relax, but I'll be up checking on him at night. Well the good thing is Christopher is ready for it again.
He is such a strong little boy. He sure is a fighter and he will beat this. He has come a long way. We are so very proud of him. Thank you to everyone for your support and prayers.

Hello,
Christopher is doing o.k. today. He had a rough night last night. We took him to the local Hospital St. Annes to be checked from his fall down the stairs. He has a bruise on his right side, he also has a couple of bruises on his head. The Hospital took x-rays and said that there was nothing wrong. Luckily he just has bruises. It was very scary to actually see my son falling down the stairs. I did grab him as fast as I could. He is doing o.k. today. We are due to go to the clinic tommorrow to get blood and maybe platletts. He also will be getting the Vincristine drug. It will be a long day. 10 more weeks for his last treatment. We'll keep on praying. Thank You for all the support.

Hello,
Christopher is doing really well today. The weather isn't that nice so we have been just hanging out indoors. Hopefully we get some good weather soon. The Nurse will be coming tommorrow morning to draw his Labs. We are not sure if he will be needing any blood. Christopher is bouncing off the walls, very active eating and drinking well. I really don't think he will need blood. As for the platletts he hasn't been bruising from the shot or bleeding at the gums so again to me it looks like he will not need anything. Which would be really good for us. We won't have to be back until Thursday to get his Vincristine chemo drug in the clinic. Things could change we just sit and hope for the best. There are exactlly 11 more weeks of treatment. Time is getting closer and closer. Thank You to everyone for your support for our son Christopher. Keep on praying please.

Sunday, May 23, 2004 9:26 AM CDT

Hello,

Christopher has been discharged from the Hospital. He is spending the day with his Dad. He is doing really well. There are exactly 11 more weeks of treatments left. I am also very happy and I thank God every day that my little Christophers MRI he had showed that the fluid in the surgery area is going away and it is not a mass. That was the greatest news I heard. When I was at the hospital I ran into the Surgeon Dr. Gilcrest. He looked at me and told me that Christopher was special, the surgery he performed on him was difficult. He is so proud to see Christopher running around the way he is. He also was happy to hear that Christopher doesn't have any problem moving his bowels. That avoides having to have a colostomy. I felt really good touching base with him. He looked at me and said that I removed it all plus some. To me Dr. Gilcrest has an angel over him. We are due back to the clinic on Monday for blood counts. I will update this journal tommorrow. Thank You for your support and prayers.

He will also need to start his GCSF shot today and continue for about 5 days. Hopefully by next week he will have another good week. Well I have to go for now. If everything goes good this week. We just have to watch his bruises that he is getting. If he keeps bruising like this we will probly have to go back to the clinic to get platletts. That is what clotts your blood. Besides that Christopher is feeling good. He doesn't even have to take his shot until the weekend. Which he is very excited about. He really needs a break once in a while from the shot. I just try to keep telling him that it is medicine to keep his counts up so we can be home longer instead of being in the hospial. He does really well. He is a strong little boy. He is fighting this Cancer. He will beat it!!!!!!!!! Keep on praying for my son. The prayers are working. Thank You.

They had a great time. Kaylee and Josh were with us also. Christopher loved seeing all the different kinds of fish. He also liked the Jelly Fish. Hello,
Christopher went to his Dad's house on Friday. They had a nice weekend planned, nice weather for a change. Christopher got a temp of 101 at night so his Dad had to bring him to the Floating Hospital in Boston. Because it was late they had to go to the Emergency room. They ended up addmitting him to the Hospital and teated this like it was infection to take praucation. They had him in isolation until the cultures came back. Which were normal. Christopher's last temp was on Sat. at 400 pm. We finally was able to come home today. Christopher is sure happy to be in his house. We went for nice walk today to enjoy this good weather we have. Well Christopher is surely a strong little boy. He is going to keep fighting this. I just hope and pray that Christopher's counts will stay good. So he can enjoy the everyday things that little boys do. He loves playing outside. Which is something he's not able to do while being at the Hospital. Well gotta go for now. Until next time Have a good night. Thank You.

Hello,
Christopher went to the clinic today. He is feeling much better today. His counts were up to 25,000. Which is good. The Doctor's stopped his GCSF shot today, but will resume it tommorrow. By Thursday they expect his counts to drop from the Chemo. His HCT was 24.4 They usually like to see that above 25. They are going to wait to Thursday to decide of any Transfusions. In the mean time if he feels to tierd besides the normal he will go in sooner. We are 24 weeks into treatment. We have 28 more weeks left to this protical. Keep our fingers crossed that in Sept.Christopher can have a Birthday bash for his 5th Birthday. Cancer free!!
Christopher really wants a parade for his birthday. Were going to see what we can do. Anything to put a glowing smile on my son's face. Well gotta go. Thank You.

Sunday, April 11, 2004 3:22 PM CDT

HAPPY EASTER,

We also had to give him his GCSF shot today, which he did not like. Who would? He has been napping throughout the day, We had an Easter Egg hunt yesterday with the kids. Kaylee and Joshua slept over. They really enjoyed the Egg hunt. Happy Easter to everyone, Until next time. Thank You for your support.

Thursday, April 8, 2004 1:00 PM CDT

Good Afternoon,
We are at the hospital. Christopher did his MRI, CT scan his follow up radiation apt. and he also was sent for a cardiogram test for the heart. The Doctors noticed that his heart murmur sounded louder than before. They need to check that because the Citoxin Chemo that Christopher gets could dammage his heart. He was addmitted over night for Hydration fluid. They started the Chemo treatments this morning. He is doing well so far. Were at the playroom. Christopher is playing a game on the computer. If everything goes well today from Chemo. he could go home tommorrow afternoon. Keep on praying for my little guy. He is very strong and will pull throgh this. I will update again when I get the test results back. Thank You for your support.

Sunday, April 4, 2004 7:35 PM CDT

He had lots of fun with the other children. He played musical chairs with the other children. I love seeing Christopher doing the things that children should do when there are 4 . When his counts are up I try to do as much as we could, because we never know what could happen from one day to the next with his counts. He is a fighter and he is continuing to fight this battle. We go for our follow up radiation apt. on wednesday and also a MRI and CAT SCAN. After all the testing we will be admitted for his 48 hour Chemo treatments. This will be a very busy day for us. Tuesday, March 30, 2004 8:59 PM CST

Hello,
Christopher has had a tough weekend. I took Christopher to the clinic on Thursday for some blood. We came home on Thursday. Friday morning Christopher came down with a temp of 104.0 so I called the clinic and they said to bring him right in. I did that. We ended up having to stay Friday, Sat. Sun. Mon. and Tues. The Doctors did blood cultures on him that came back Neg. Which was a good sign. His ANC count was at 000 for four days finally his counts went to 300 which they like to see 500 or higher. This time after Chemo his counts took a while to recover. Christopher's body is getting tierd from the treatments so his body is taking longer to recover his counts. We will be monotoring him with his counts. He needs to continue his GCSF shot everyday until his counts come up. We really have to be cautious about christopher being exposed to anyone who might have a cold or has been exposed to something. We don't want Christopher back in the Hospital. He is doing o.k. tonight he's sleeping so peaceful right now. Tommorrow is another day hopefully he is going to have a good day home and enjoy his own surroundings for a little bit till we go back to the Hospital. Well hope to upate this journal soon. thank You for your support and prayers.

Thursday, March 25, 2004 6:58 PM CST

Hello,
Christopher went to clinic today. He received his Vincristine Chemo Drug. His counts are low. His White Blood Count is 200. That's what fights infection. His HCT was 17 that too was low. He has a heart murmer they noticed has been getting louder due to his HCT count. His heart was actually working too hard. They gave him a Blood Transfusion. His PLT were 70,000 which is good. That is what clots your blood. Christopher has been running around and being his happy energenic self. You would not be able to tell today that his counts were that low. Christopher shows that he is fighting and will get rid of this nasty germ forever. One Day At A Time. Well for now Thank You.

Tuesday, March 23, 2004 8:06 PM CST

Hello,
Christopher is doing well. He has been going to school. Christopher takes a bus. He loves it alot. Christopher can't wait to go back to school tommorrow. This morning was a tough morning for Christopher, he lost most of his hair overnight. I assured him it will come back and that he is a very strong, brave boy. He is soooo handsome. We go back to the Clinic on Thursday for a check on counts and his Vincristine Chemo Drug. We will be coming home the same day. Most likely we'll still have to give him his GCSF shot for another 5 days or so. That part Christopher really doesn't like very much. I don't blame him for that. Mommy doesn't like it very much either. I do the best I can to make him as comfortable as possible while going through the treatments. He is a fighter and we will win this battle with Cancer. Thank You for your support and prayers.

Friday, February 27, 2004 9:09 AM CST

Good Morning Everyone,
Christopher is doing well this morning. He came into the hospital yesterday for his Chemo treatments. Overall he had a good night. There were only a couple of times that Christopher vommitted last night. I was also very happy to hear that Christopher did not get a temp either last night. Usually every time he gets Chemo he gets a temp. That means we could possibly leave to go home today sometime. Christopher is such a strong little boy. There are about 28 more weeks left of treatment. As every dat passes I look at Christopher and let him know how strong he is and that he is an angel in Mommy's eyes. I Love him so much. He really is a great child. Well I have to go. We are at the playroom passing some time. Christopher is playing the Tonka Game on the Computer. Thank You to everyone for your support.

Hello everyone,

chriistopher lhtechrfcvhecccf.
Christopher is doing well today. We went for our Radiation treatment today. We have 2 more days and we complete our 2nd week. Four more to go and Christopher is still fighting this like a real trooper. Christopher wrote everybody a little of his typing to say hi. We will be going home to Fall River for the weekend. His counts will be on the low side, but we will take our precausions that we need to take. Christopher's Dad, Michelle and Max will be coming over to visit as long as everybody is doing well. Also if everything is well with Kaylee and Joshua they will also be over. We really can't be exposing Christopher to the crowded places. Or even to our friends that may be feeling sick. With his Radiation and Chemo it could really complicate things if he gets sick. Sorry for any inconvienience to anyone. Remember this web site is here for all of you to leave messages if you would like. Thank You to everyone oryour support and prayers. I will try to keep this Journal updated regually.

Hello Everyone,
Christopher is doing well today. There was no Radiation therapy today because of the holiday. We will be resuming Radiation Tuesday. There will be no Chemo treatments for 2 weeks. That gives Christopher some time to enjoy everyday things. The only thing he really needs now is his pain meds and his GCSF shots on a daily basis for 7-10 days after Chemo treatments, so his counts don't drop too low. We will be going to the Clinic this week to check his counts. Today we had fun. We went for a walk with Steve, Auntie Cristie, and Uncle Scott to the store to get some special treats for being such a brave Boy with his shot today. After his Rdiation treatment on Friday we will be going home for the weekend. We can spend some time in our own home. Christopher is also going to go to the Fish store to get a new fish, his fish Kay,Kay swam down the drain to find his Dad. "just like what happened to NEMO" Christopher took thenws o.k. he wants to get a green fish that is Kay,Kay sister. Well until next time Thank You for your support and prayers te really do work. This child is livig proof. He will keep on fighting this battle and we wil be here for him every step of the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, January 15, 2004 9:31 PM CST

Helo everyone,
Christopher did his 4th radiation treatment today which went well. We also went to follow up with the surgeon and everything looks well there also. Our last stop was at the clinic to get blood work and than to be admitted for his 12th week of Chemotherapy which is a 48 hour stay. At 8:15 p.m. they started the Chemo. The doctors pre medicated him with three different drugs to try to subside the vommitting and nausea. They also decided to stop the one drug called Acetimicine which is a Chemo drug, because that drug with radiation could cause burns. Which we really don't want that. After his 6 weeks of radiation they will resume that drug again with the other two drugs. As of 9:30 p.m. Christopher was sleeping comfortably. Hoping he has a good night. I am staying at the Neely house tonight to get some rest the week has been a tough one for us. Christopher's Dad is staying in the hospital room with him tonight. Our little guy is such a trooper and is very strong. We are so very proud of him as everyday that goes by. He keeps a good attitude and will fight this battle. We are here with him to fight it together. " Christopher I Love you so much keep up the good work" Your doing excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well until next time Thank You for all your support.

Hello,
I finally have a chance to update the journal. Christopher is doing good right now. He received his 3rd radiation treatment today so far so good he is not getting sick from it or tired yet. The doctors say he could as time goes on. Because the radiation is localized the chances on getting side effects from it are slim. Thursday will be a tough day for him. In the morning we go for radiation after recovery we go to the clinic for blood work than we will be getting addmitted to the hospital for 48 hours for his 12th week of Chemo treatments. With the Chemo and the radiation it is possible that he will be very sick for a few days. Christopher is very stong and will beat this battle that he has. He sure does keep me going strong with his attitude. This is the toughest time right now for us being away from our home. we are staying at the Neely house for Cancer patients. It is really nice here. You have all the comforts of home. With a little one it is still tough for us all because Christopher misses being in his own enviroment. Mom sure misses it to. Christophers Dad came over tonight to spend time with him which is good to give Mommy a break away. I want to say Thank You to everyone for your support and prayers. Especially Steve for being there when we need him.

Friday, January 9, 2004 8:22 PM CST

Hello,
Christopher is doing well. He is recovering from surgery pretty quickly like we all thought he would. He was discharged from the Hospital on Thursday. We had a walker for Christopher delivered to our house when we got home. Christopher ajusted well to it and begain walking. The awsome news is that after spending the two days walking and leg excersises Christopher started to walk without the walker and said I don't need my walker no more. I was so excited to see that. It made me very, very proud of him for his accomplishments through all of this he is going through or went through already. Christopher is very strong and a BRAVE little boy he is our Angel!!!! He will spend the weekend home and return for Radiation therapy on Monday. On Thursday he will also start his Chemo drugs also. Our little guy is still in for alot but, he will pull through all of this he is strong. Well until next time Thank You very much for your support.

Tuesday, January 6, 2004 9:47 AM CST

Good Morning,
Christopher is doing good today. He is off his Morphine. The Doctors put him on Codine to control his pain. He is also off of the iv fluids. Christopher is drinking plenty of fluids on his own. christopher is doing very well with the physical therapy and ocupational therapy. They gave him a walker this morning and he took about 10 steps with support which is excellent for him. He is at the playroom right now enjoying time away from his room. The doctors removed his dressings yesterday they look really good. Because he is in diapers they are continuing to put dressing on to prevent anything from seeping into his insisions. We are all so very proud of him for staying strong and being happy little Christopher. Until next time Thank You to everyone for your support. Prayers do work so please keep on praying for Christopher and he will fight this battle. Thank You!!!!!!

Saturday, January 3, 2004 9:35 AM CST

Good Morning

Well it's a great beginning to a new year, Christopher went in for his operation on 12/31/03. The doctors told us they would have to do alot more than expected, things like removing his rectum and putting in a colostomybag and flapping muscles over so there would not be as much as a deffect. Well to make a long story awsome, he went in for the operation around 8:00am 12/31/03 and was out around 12:30pm and they did not have to do any of those unexpected things, the doctors removed the tumor and tested the margin around the tumor and he had no signs of cancer. The muscle in his buttocks is still in good shape. So the cancer is out now it's just time for radiation for 7 weeks and then to continue on with chemo. Dad,Mom and Christopher thank you for all the support coming from everywhere, THANK YOU,THANK YOU.

Thursday, November 20, 2003 7:17 PM CST

Heelo Everyone,
We came home from clinic today, Christopher's counts went up from Monday's visit to the clinic. Christopher did receive his Vincristine Chemo drug today. He is doing o.k. from it, his eyes are a little on the droopy side from the medication. His next visit to the Hospital is next Friday for a 48 hour stay. His plt count which clotts his blood went from 46,000 to 248,000. His WBC is to fight infection went from 2.3 to 7.1 which is good. His ANC count went from 1348 to 3400 which is also good he doesn't have to be so cautious. The excellent news is that for a week Christopher does not need to take his GCSF shot because his count are good. We are seeing a pattern in his counts dropping after 48 hour treatment. Then the counts rise up a week before his next 48 hour treatment. Christopher is still fighting this and will keep fighting. We will BEAT THIS!!!!!!!!
Until tommorrow Thank You Again for your support.

Wednesday, November 19, 2003 6:58 AM CST

Good Morning,
Christopher had a good night last night. He slept all night comfortably, this morning he is still sleeping. It's good for him to get his rest. Christopher will be very happy to hear that the nurse isn't coming today to give him his GCSF shot. They have to stop the shot 24 hours before Chemo is given to him. We go up to Boston on Thursday. We are also meeting with the Radioligist on Thursday to discuss that part of treatment coming in a few weeks. We will beat this!!!!! Thank You for your support and prayers.

Monday, November 17, 2003 1:28 PM CST

Good Afternoon,
Christopher went up to Boston today, he had some bloodwork done. They decided to wait to Thursday to do transfusions, they want to see how much his counts drop after receiving the Chemo. Today his plt 46 (204-405).WBC 2.3 (5.3-11.5), HCT is 27.5 (31.7-37.7), these counts are supposed to drop after Chemo. Next week should be his better week with counts being up to his normal. He eyes are starting to be droopy which they say Vincristine causes that to happen. Overall today he is doing ok he is staying strong and someday we will beat this!!!!!! Until tommorrow thank you for your support.

Sunday, November 16, 2003 5:01 PM CST

Thursday, November 13, 2003 2:20 PM CST

Good Afternoon,
We came back from the clinic today. Were a little on the tierd and cranky side today. Christophers WBC count dropped from 5000 to 1400 which is not to bad right now. His PLt is 84 it should be higher so thier going to wait to see us on Monday for possible PLt transfusion. His PHOSPHORUS level is 3.3 which is low it should be 4.1-5.4 so they have him eating high Phosphorus foods (chocolate, cola, ice cream, yogurt) hopefully it will go up so no medication will be needed. The good thing today which Christopher is happy to hear is no GCSF shot today. He is sleeping right now,but doing o.k. until tommorrow thank You all for your support.

Thursday, November 13, 2003 5:32 AM CST

Good Morning,
Christopher is going to clinic today to get his Vincristine drug. He woke up this morning sad. He said his legs were hurting him, which could either be from the Vincristine or the GCSF shot that hes been getting. He is better now that he has some pain meds, it makes him feel better.I talk to the Doctor yesterday and she said to stop the mouthcare because his soars are bleeding to much.We will find out today what we can do for it. All I want is for Christopher to be happy and in no pain. Were doing everything to make him as comfortable as possible. Being home is a plus, hes able to do is everyday thins. Yesterday he had fun playing with legos, coloring pictures, playing with his play-dough and watching some movies. Until later Thank You for your support.

Tuesday, November 11, 2003 3:20 PM CST

Monday, November 10, 2003 6:56 PM CST

Hi Everyone,
Christopher got discharged today from the hospital. He is doing o.k. His swelling in his eyes went down all the way, he does look better today. He sure is glad to be home. Sometimes I think alot of his frustration is because he spends alot of time in the hospital. When he is home things seem to be somewhat normal to him, He is receiving some pain medicine orally to control his pain. Tommorrow the nurse will start to come to the house to give him his GCSF shot, which makes his WBC to rise a little. He is going to take a nice warm bath and relax in his home tonight. Tommorrow I will update this journal. Thank You again to everyone who is praying and supporting Christopher through all of this.

Sunday, November 9, 2003 6:02 PM CST

Hello everybody,
Christopher is still in the hospital today. He is getting his blood transfusion. If everything goes o.k. over night he can possibly go home tommorrow. The Doctor said his eyes will be droopy from the Chemo drug that he gets. There are alot of side effects that Christopher is getting. The doctors are working on a better plan to make him more comfortable when he does get his Chemotherapy. Christopher is still a fighter and will beat this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will update this journal on Monday. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Hello everyone, Christopher was addmitted into the hospital on Thursday November 6 for his 48 hour Chemo treatment. At around midnight Christopher became sick. He has been vommiting from the medicine. The docors have been giving him some Zofran medication to stop the vommiting. This morning Christopher's temp was up to 101.3 he was given some Tylenol for that. He also broke out with a rash on his face and legs. The doctors are not sure what that is from. He also is retaining some fluid on his eyelids and feet, they are monitoring him closely. Today he has been sleeping most of the day. He is resting and looks like a little angel. The doctors have been giving him morphine for the pain. We hope and pray that he feels better soon. The doctors say he will be here till Sunday or Monday. When Christopher is feeling better he will be back to his Happy self. Thank You to everybody that has given your support and prayers. I will be updating this Journal Saturday.

Hi everyone, Christopher was admitted into the hospital again on Oct 6, his white cell count is down to .4 it should be around 5.0 to 15.0, this is the cell that helps fight infections, the doctors are giving him a blood transfusion to help boost his cell counts back up. Christopher has been tired and he is very upset about what is going on, who would'nt be? The low cell counts and his condition should be like this in 4 or 5 weeks, not now. I believe he is room 758 at the same hospital, I dont have all the info for you right now but when I do I will let everybody know. Thank you everyone for your support and prayers. WE CAN BEAT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, October 3, 2003 11:33 AM CDT

Good morning everybody, we are in Boston today for Christopher's first clinic session. This will involve putting a line into the port the doctors put in his chest, drawing blood and testing the blood cells and giving a dose of Vincristine it's a medicine to treat certain types of cancer. The process is about 4 or 5 hrs. He is doing fantastic since he has been out of the hospital. A few side effects have been effected him but nothing that will slow the little man down. He has been running, jumping, spinning and glunkasunkiing like a crazy man. We thank everybody for your support and WE CAN BEAT IT!!!!!!

Good morning it's Sept.29 2003. It's a beautiful sunny day outside and we think Christopher will be going home. It all depends on test results and if he is able to stay hydrated. Christopher is acting very silly this morning, I think he is going to turn into a box of Cheerio's he eating so much. This weekend was a little rough for him with the naseua and other side effects, but overall he did very well dealing with it. It seems to be he gets a little sick only at night, during the day he is like your typical 4 year old boy, crazy and goofy. Well I just looked at the clock and it's almost 10:00am and if you been following Christopher's progress you should all know it's PLAYGROUND time!!! Christopher is yeeling "it's 10 it's 10 time for the playground" We love you all for your support and prayers. Christopher wants to spell something for you ccccccccccccccccccchhhrriiiiiiiiiisssssssssssssssssssssssttttoooopphheerrr55

Yesterday, September 26th, at 5:00, we were told that chemotherapy would start tomorrow, September 27th. It'll be 14 weeks of chemotherapy. Hopefully the tumor will shrink so they can remove it. If so, he will have daily radiation treatments for 3 weeks. Once done, the chemotherapy will resume until he's had a year's worth of chemotherapy. The doses of chemotherapy are not high doses, which means the side effects will be less than what some people will think. He will still have hair loss and nausea, and a few other side effects. He's a strong little man who has not let this effect him in any way. We think he understands what's going on. We ask him about the port in his chest and he always says it's for the doctor's to make his bum better. In the long run, it's a positive outlook. The tumor will be gone and the cancer will be cured. Today, September 27th, he's spending the day with his family and friends. He's happy
and silly and keeps us all strong. Thank you to all the good friends and family that have visited this site and signed the guestbook. Strength in numbers. We've added a few pictures to the album. Check it out when you get a chance. Thank you so much.

Sept.26 2003 Yesterday Dr. Grodman the Oncologist told us the Aspirate fluid(from the bone)came back with no cancer, we are still waiting for the bone marrow biopsy results. The results from all testing should be completed today, if they are completed they will start Chemothrapy today. Christopher had so many friends and family come to see him and he was very excited to them. Thanks Auntie Robyn for the Thomas magnets and board with so many pieces, FYI they do make toy's with one piece. We love you all and thank you for the support and I will update this afternoon.

Sept.24 2003 Christopher had a port put into his chest for the process of chemotherapy and radiation, the recovery went well and he is back to his silly tricks and of course watching Thomas The Tank Engine. He has a new room(750)all to himself, the nurses hooked up the oxygen sensor to Christopher's bigtoe and it glows red, Christopher does not like that at all. The doctors are still working on type and stage of the Rhabdomyosarcoma, when they get the results back they will know how to attack the tumor.
Sept.25 2003 Christopher slept like a rock through the night, he had no pain and no discomfort. Christopher was taken off all monitors and no wires or hoses hanging from him as soon as that happend he took off like a 4 year old boy. Christopher is so strong and that is going to help him through the therapy. Support is coming from everywhere, his Karate class is having a big raffle and Domino's Pizza is getting involved with the Caner Society to raise money in Christopher's name, thankyou everybody. I will update this journal everyday.

On Sept.22 2003 Christopher was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. The state and type are unknown,Cscans and bone scans came back with no sign of cancer. Christopher has been so strong and happy through all the testing and poking of needles. I think he know's something is wrong and he needs to get better. Sept.24 2003 he went into surgery to have a tube installed for the process of theropy. This type of cancer is BEATALBE and we will beat it. Thank you to all friends and family that have been giving the wonderful support.
