Hi Jason. I am Alee and Xander's old babysitter Wendy. Amy has been keeping me updated on little J's progress, and you have both been in my prayers. Congratulations! I wanted to pass on some info about a totally free camp for kids with cancer, or recovering from cancer sponsored by the American Cancer Society. My brother was a volenteer and said it is one of the most special oppertunities for children who have gone through what Jason has. It is a week long summer camp where the children do a variety of activities from horse back riding to achery. There are many different locations, so the easiest way to find the one nearest to you would be to call Dawn Mericle at (800)686-4357. She is my brothers contact here in Columbus, but she could give you any details and discription of the different camps. Good luck in the future.

Jason,
Now that little Jason and Tyler are at camp DOST this week, are you as lost as Wayne and I are? Sure is a very long week but they must really be enjoying themselves. Tyler really enjoyed playing with Jason last week during there stay at the hospital and was really hoping to get to be with him at camp. They sure do show us they are winning their fights. Remember if you ever need a shoulder, Wayne and I are here and ready to listen. Keep your spirits high.
May God keep you guys close. Keep in touch.

Dear Jason,
Chris asked me to write you a note. He doesn't like Jason called Little Jason. He says there is nothing little about anyone fighting cancer. This is from a 7 year old who beat the same disease your son is beating now.
Love,

Hi Little "J"! I just spent some time this morning talking to your Nana and she told me how GREAT you are doing! I work with her at Bear Creek. She also told me you are a BIG gameboy fan. My favorite game is Tetris. That's about the only game I know how to play. What's your favorite game? My favorite things are race cars and horses. What other things do you like? I really liked the pictures of you and your dog, Joker. He's a really neat dog. I just got a new dog named Deuce. He's a BIG dog too! He's black and likes to give lots of kisses. You hang in there, big guy! I'll be thinking of you!

It has been the greatest fathers day I could have ever dreamed of with Chris getting a clean bill of health and Jason is not far behind. When we hit the beach in Maui the first Zombie is on me as we toast our cancer free sons. All my love to Jason, not an hour goes by I don't think of you guys. Happy Fathers Day Jason,

You are a great example of a great father. We are all so proud of you. We were really happy to hear that you had such a long stay at home. My wish for you is that pretty soon you'll be home all the time and the screen door will slam as Jason says "Dad do we have any thing to drink?" "My friends are thirsty." you will walk in to about 10 kids with expectant eyes. Take care of yourselves.
Love and kisses as well as good thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Jason, I just wanted to send my love and good wishes for a successful recovery for Little Jason. It sounds like he is a fighter and that is what it takes. I am now 4 years post diagnosis for my Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and doing well. I know a little girl who was diagnosed with Burkett's Lymphoma when she was 4. She is now 7 and healthy. I send my good wishes that Little Jason will be able to say the same three years from now and more. Love, Aunt Shirley

I just read all the journal entries and they are great! I am very glad to hear Lil Jas is doing better. And Big Jas, you are amazing. Your wonderful smile has not faded and you seem very informed. I am glad the doctors are taking good care of all of you while you are there.
My son who is 5 now was in the hospital for only 8 days following his birth and that felt like a lifetime. I can't imagine going through the long days and nights that you have had to endure. I know the fear you go through as a parent wondering whats going to happen next, but just remember that God is carrying you through this and he will never leave you. I am very proud of you Jason, not only for taking the resposibility of being a parent, but for being such a good one, and a strong one. I have always thought you were a good guy, and now you have proven it!:)
God Bless You all and I will continue to pray for you.

Jason and Jason!
Hi guys! Kitty Kat, myself and all the kids want you to know that we miss you. It's great to know that you have had some fun times at home and that you'll be able to go back home in a couple of days again. I went to a Childcare Conference in Denver last week and I also went to see my son who is college. I told him all about you and how brave you are. My son Chris said to say hello.
We are looking forward to you coming back to be with all of us again. Take care and know you are always in our thoughts.
Love,
Nancy and Kitty Kat and all the kids at Paddington Station.

Dear Jason,
Thanks for the kind words. You are truley my friend also. Chris had a medi-port implanted back in January and it is a God send. Makes everything so much easier and, with the exception of the injections to raise his WBC, it makes the need for needles over. Chris had his last chemo treatment yesterday and came home today. We are hoping this Neutropenia does not put him back in the hospital with fever. Got to keep a close eye it doesn't go over 101.5. We are living proof this can be beaten, you will make it thru chemo. The end seemed so far away and then it just happened. We are going to fatten Chris up for a few weeks and then schedule his surgery to reverse the iliostomy. Jason remains in our daily prayers and Chris wants to meet him. We will have to set something up for them. People from the Make a Wish foundation are coming this week to meet Chris. He want to be on "Slime Time Live" on Nick. Hang in there buddy and if you need something or just someone to talk to just call. 631-253-0280.
Love,
Ray

Big Jas & Family,
Remember to take each day one moment at a time. Even taking it a day at a time is to much. If you just focus on the moment at home, it can help to keep things in perspective.

Big Jas, remember to take time for yourself. In order to give the best care to Lil' Jas, you have to take a moment to care for yourself.
Love,
Holly

You are a joy to take care of. I am glad you got to go home, even if it was only for a short time. Each moment of your life has become more precious than priceless jewels. You may be to young to understand this now, but as you grow older, this is something that will become apparent.

Dear Jason and family,
Reading your web page is like reading our own. Words like “limbo” are all too familiar. Our son Christopher, also age 7, was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma on Jan 17th, five days after emergency surgery due to a perforation in his intestines. Chemo began almost immediately and he has experienced some nasty side effects but has been courageous beyond words through this whole ordeal. We are down to one more chemo treatment and then surgery to reverse the iliostomy he had during his initial surgery. My son has tough us what bravery and being a hero is all about. After this experience our boys are destined for great things in life and it will be a joy to watch them grow. You can read about Chris at www.caringbridge.org/ny/chris/. Best of luck to you and your family Jason. Chris’ two aunts have cancer so he has lots of support as I am sure you do also. You are in our prayers as are your loving parents. Keep up the good fight buddy. YOU ROCK JASON
