Oh how right you are. Treatment seemed like years ago and so long ago but it also feels like yesterday. I long for the year feeling. ALthough the yesterday feeling makes us know how precious life is and how we need to enjoy everyday and live everyday to the fullest. When is the b-day? Hope it is terrific.

I am so glad to hear that all is going well. That is great news. I thought you all stopped updating the caringbridge page and moved on since there was no update for a long time. Glad to hear you are still there and doing well. Wow, and even a baby coming soon. That is great. Boy you will definitely have your hands full. Enjoy it. Kids are so precious. I hope your family has a wonderful summer. Keep in touch. You go for scans in August. We are do in September but I am going to see about moving them to August since Jared starts school this year and I do not want him to have to miss school. Maybe if we schedule them the same time we can meet. Let me know closer August. I love the new pic but would love to see more, sometime. Give those kids a huge hug and good luck with the new coming baby. God bless.

Hey Guys, just thinking about all that God has done this year and remebered the miricale of Emma. Great job listening to the Lord and enduring through the process. God is so in control and loves Emma so much. Praise the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever. Ps 106:1 How long is that?

Hi Jen, I was thinking about you this morning and thought I would look and see if you had an update for Emma. I'm so glad she is all better and that the scans came out normal. Em will always stay in our prayers everyday. Email me when you get a chance, I would love to hear from you.

I'm so glad you found Jared's site. Wow it was amazing reading your page.....so so similar to Jared's story. I felt a lump thought it was constipation (but not eating and complaining of belly pain too). Took him to the peds center and the next day we were at oncology getting tests and found out he had cancer. Then after a bx found out it was NB. We went to CHOP for a second opinion and started treatment. We also had Dr.Mattei as our surgeon. (we loved him). Our oncologist at CHOP is Dr.Grupp. I can not recall who your is. That is neat to meet each other. I am so glad all is going well for you all. Jared too is NED. Has been NED since 12/03. Maybe sometime we can link up at CHOP if we go at the same time for scans. How often are your scans now? Thank you for stopping by Jared's page. I will definitely keep in touch with you all. Take care. (sorry it took so long for me to stop by, my computer crashed and now it has been replaced and I am up and running again).

Hi there Miss Emmalee. I met your Grandma at a Pastor's Wives' conference last week where I heard you had neuroblastoma. You are so cute! My 5 year old daughter, Leah, had leukemia when she was your age and is doing great today. I know you have scans coming up soon and I will be praying for you, sweetie. Jesus is your strength and your healer.
You can visit Leah's site at: www.caringbridge.org/va/leah
I'll be praying for you and checking in on you often.

You may not know my wife and I but you may know Adam and Amanda. We are their parents from Canada. The church we attend have been praying for you, and we hope that you are recovering well. We have you on our bulletin board at the church so that you are just not a name. May the Lord Jesus Christ heal your little body, and those who don't know Christ as their Saviour come to see that He is good to those who put their trust in Him.

Hi Jenn,
Just checking in to see how Emma is doing. That is great news that she is doing good. Our God is so faithful. We will continue to pray for her even after this is over and I will keep her doctor in our prayers too. It is funny how God puts special unsaved people in our lives that we consider a privledge to cross paths with. I know you and your family are a great testimony for him, so keep praying and showing God through you and God will do the rest.

Hey Jenn and SHawn,

Just wanted to say hi and let you know that we are thinking about Emma and your family. We are praising the Lord with you for her progress so far! I can relate when you say you have 10 years until Em is in the clear. With all my kids, but with especially Noah and Jesse, their *recovery* is not a sprint, but a marathon. I am sure you feel the same way. The Lord wants us to go the distance, and knows what we need to get us there. He keeps us close to him! We will keep praying for your marathon :)

Hi Shawn and Jenn,
I am a friend of Irma, and have a 16 mos. grandson also in ICU here in Indianapolis (www.caringbridge.org/in/noahbazur). Please know that I understand some of what you are going through, and one thing I know: We have an awesome and faithful God, full of grace and truth. His love is passionate and strong. He is a God we can trust. Please know that there are many people here praying for your little precious treasure. She is really beautiful! May you be encouraged in the days ahead.

May the God of all strength establish your hearts in grace and truth as you continue to keep your eyes steadfast on Him. Do not look to the right or to the left. MAy God be magnified in every circumstance so that your confidence and hope would be in Him alone. He is our Rock and our Refuge in time of need. Come boldly to the throne of grace for mercy, feed on His faithfilness because His mercy endures forever. Jesus loves little children. May thanksgiving and praise be your strength. Amen.

Hello, dear friends. Jenn, it was great to talk to you the other day~I miss you dearly and I wish I could be there to hug you and help out. Thank you for sharing about Emma. Though I have yet to meet your precious angels, I love them like I love you. Emma is beautiful-she has your gorgeous big eyes! My heart is hurting to know that such a sweetie pie has to go through so much (and that her mommy, daddy and little brother suffer too). But I know that our Good Lord is with you. Just from reading through your journal entries and the many wonderful messages from those that care about you, I can see that He has been faithful in upholding and sustaining you and caring for your Emma. You all have been in my prayers since we talked, Jen, and that is where you will remain until the day that this is all behind you. I added you all to our prayer list at church today and I know our church family will be lifting you up to Jesus too. You shared the verse that you've been clinging to when we talked. One of my favorites is Jeramiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD,"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future". He has wonderful, perfect plans for Emma, and for the whole Gallegos family. Keep looking to Him! Andy and I will be looking to Him for you as well!
Longing for the day when I can see you again and finally meet your dear husband and babies.
Love,
Jess

Sounds like Emma's little body needs it's rest to beat this thing. I don't know what a swinty-eyed smile is but it sounds great to hear she can still muster one for mommy through all this. Spoke with Ruthie briefly yesterday and she told me about the good counts. I don't think I fully understand all that but I'm confident the Lord does. We will keep praying the Lord strengthens Emma's little body and that you guys are able to get some rest. Shawn, if you need anything just call. I'm praying for you brother.

Amazing the simple heart of a child and how it so reflects how we as adults should be. In the mist of all she is going through Emma smiles and wants to bless daddy with gifts. Happy belated birthday Shawn, I'm sure your day was blessed by what I've read in the update. May the Lord continue to increase the measure of faith you and Jenn need and keep Emma smiling. Hey guys, good to hear Emma has done well this first week. The Lord continues to prove He is with her and you every step of the way. Keep your eyes on Jesus as you approach the last turn in this process and stand firm on His promise to never leave or forsake. I do hope Emma and all of you get that 2 week break around Christmas so the family can enjoy the holidays together but we'll trust the Lord to know what's best. Hey guys, we know the next several weeks are going to be crazy for little Emma and you so we will be praying for all. I keep remembering what Jen said about there at least being a light at the end of the tunnel. Remeber that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". (Psalm 46:1) "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith." Jesus is the ultimate finisher and will never leave or forsake Emma. In His grip

Emma, I continue to pray for you. What a brave little soul. May the Lord place a hedge of angels around you and strengthen family members when they grow weary. I was so happy to read about the good test results. Our God is an awesome God! Nothing is too difficult for the Lord. (Genesis 18:14)

Mat 19:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put [his] hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
Mat 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

God bless you Emma.

Hey Jenn and Shawn,

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
(I John)

Even though the world holds many challenges that can seem overwhelming at times, Jesus has promised us that through him we have the keys to overcome the world.

This is a long process that we're going to keep praying the Lord uses to perform miracles in your family. He knows what He's doing and continues to keep a sharp eye on all that's going on. I still can't believe Katie's gone (WOW!!) where does the time go? I'm beliving we'll be able to look back one day and give testimony of how great a God we have who's promises are true and who stands by His people in times like these and confirms His love and compassion. I just wanted to let you know that my family and I are praying for you each and every day.Know that God watches over his precious little angels and cradles them close when they are hurting or sad. Shawn & Jen, while typing this message I'm really hoping that your not reading it because your home with Emma. With all that's going on now between your family and the Seachrist family we can only expect that God is working His sovereign will out in all of this. The Lord at times uses storms as opportunities to pour out His Spirit and once again establish His promises to His children. II Peter 1:3 states that "His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us". Praying that you stay strong and confident in Him and that His hand brings healing for Emma according to His will. "Jesus Lead On"

Jenn and Shawn,
Thanks for telling us about this website. It's great! We were moved to tears by the many responses and of how diligent you both are with your journal entries. If or when you begin to be fearful or doubtful of ANYTHING please remember that God will never leave you nor forsake you(Hebrews 13:5) and that He loves you SO much! The Lord will keep you and sustain you no matter what!(Isaiah 41:10) God is always in control of every detail of our lives!(Matthew 10:29-30) So be encouraged! :-) Rest in Him and in His will for your lives! Remember that God will ultimately use all things for His glory and our benefit!(Romans 8:28) I have notified our church down in VA and everyone is(and has been..) praying for both you, Emmy, and Buddy. We also are praying for you both that God will give you His peace & strength as together you go through this trial.(Proverbs 3:5-6) If you need us for anything, at any time of day OR night, just call us. We will be there within 3 hours. You have all our love and we miss you very much. Hold fast to the truth and the hope of God's Word! (Hebrews 4:14-16, Romans 15:1-2) We love you!

Jimmy is fine and has been in remission for five years now. Please call me and I will give you Maria's number. She will be a great source for you.

Dear Jen & Shawn,
I am not quite sure you'd remember us, We are good friends of Tom & Vicki Lizinski. Vicki forwarded this web site to us for a prayer chain but I'd also like to give you some hope. My name is Sandi, and my husband is Bill Kriner. I have all but wonderful news to share about CHOP. I know these times are Long, Tiresome, Draining and sometimes overwhelming but I'd like to share with you my experience with CHOP. My son Steven has been in Chop for many years and on all different levels due to his globel delay and seisures. In May...3 weeks after Vicki had Colin, I had my daughter at 35 weeks due to complications. She weighed just 4 lbs 13 oz....they sent her home from the hospital with me only to find her spitting up, having reflux and apnea for some time. Needless to say, once again, we found ourselves at Chop. After 2 weeks of being in the NICU, the doctors found out what was causing her not to eat...her reflux. If we would have waited to get her help, and thought she was a colic baby...I was told this could have been very tragic due to her low weight. Your daughter is in the best place in world. The doctors there really care about both you and your daughter. Most importantly, God has placed you all in a safe place for now to grow as a family and to point out to us what really is important. I have found myself more and more grateful everytime I am there. I can surely find another family that seems to have it worse, and in return I become blessed. Our family surely knows what your going through and will pray for all of you.

Just a few things that might help that arent mentioned often enough there.....If you wear a *RED* parents band while your staying there it allows you to go to the McDonalds at anytime and get soda's for free. Its something the hospital offers. Also there are rooms there for parents to go to to get sleep...The Connelly center is where they are. Also in the Connelly center youll find computers to access as well as a little kitchen that we are free to put things in and take from if you want a quick snack and dont want to go to the Cafateria downstairs. If you park at Chop or the Wood Center before you leave get your ticket stamped for a lower rate (Only parents get this) and also remember that if you have to leave when you pay remember to ask for a 24 hour pass. That will ensure you only pay (I think its 3.00) once every 24 hours. That helped alot when my husband left for home and returned later. If for any reason the doctors tell you that they want you to take CPR..seems to be one requirement every time I attend....CHOP gives that class in the Connelly center at no charge and its about an hour. Any hospital equiptment you may need the hospital can rent to you and have it set up at home for when you go home. All of these things are either free or no charge for parents. Please feel free to call me if you need any help finding your way around that Hospital...after 9 years of going..I think I have it mapped out well. Take care and God bless, If we can make your stay there any easier with the knowledge we have let us know, we'd be more then happy to help.

Hello Emma. Sorry I have not written a message lately. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. I know you would rather be home with Mom and Dad, but better to be safe in the hospital then to get home and get sick again. I am glad to hear things are looking up. Stay strong. Keep smiling. Thinking og you always.

I drive to work each morning for about 40 minutes to an hour and Emma is on my heart, as well as all of the family. I have spoken with your Dad and, since we didn't have any children in 8:15 SS, today, we prayed. What a blessed time for all of us. We are thanking you. We are crying with you and rejoicing in God's presence through this entire ordeal. We prayed that Emma would be free from any discomfort, today, and she would be at peace. From what you have said, God already honored your family and little Emma. We call our Casey, "Baby girl" Emma has become our adopted "baby girl, too".

God Bless all of you!

Matthew 21:21,22 says, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain,'Go throw yourself into the sea', and it will be done. If you beleive, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
Mark 11:24 Therefore, I tell you, Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
This is our Jesus speaking. It says DO NOT DOUBT AND RECEIVE WHATEVER YOU ASK FOR IN PRAYER. BELEIVE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT. HAVE FAITH AND RECEIVE IT. I am not trying to preach 'name it and claim it', I just want to give you verses to live by and pray over for Emma.
My prayer is for Emma to have complete healing. I believe that is Gods will in her life. I don't beleive God would give Emma an illness. That is not who He is.
These verses are Jesus's words, not any man, do not question Gods Holy Word. Don't listen to any body's "Yeah, but..."'s. People have a hard time accepting these verses as true. They work when you have pure faith and believe for healing. It has worked in my own life. I know you have alot of support and prayers going up. Praise God. We will keep you in our prayers and check in often to see Emma get better!!

Emma, Jen, Shawn & family, Continue to put your hope in God's unfailing love Ps. 147:11 Know that there are so many of us out here praying for you and trusting in God's best for you. Isaiah 40:28-31 The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. Hey guys, just found out about this website and wanted to let you know that Michelle and I will continue to stand in the gap praying for little Emma and both of you. I am certain that prayer can move the hand of God who fearfully and wonderfully created Emmalee. Though I don't understand all of God's purposes I am confident His ways are not ours so "be strong in the Lord and the power of His might". He is in complete control and knows His will in all of this. If there is anything Michelle and I can do to help now or in the coming months please don't hesitate to let us know. We will continue to keep Emmalee before Him in prayer and ask that the Lord's will be done in the lives of both Emmalee and the whole the family. PRAYING

Hi Jen & Shawn~ I have been praying for you all daily. I am especially praying that Emmalee will have very few side effects with treatments. Look for an oncology nurse at CHOP named Megan. I don't know her married name but her maiden name is Callahan. We used to work together. Tell her I said to take good care of your whole family! If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know. In Him, Julie Rodden

Hello beautiful girl!Sorry I didn't write yesterday but I'm sending twice as many kisses today to make up for it. John D. and Heaven are so lucky they got to see you yesterday.Hev says you look good and that you had things sticking out of you. I guess she meant I.V. tubes.I hope you like your flowers. We thought they looked like ice cream with strawberries on top and hoped they'd keep you cheerful. Tell mommy and daddy that I love them and to stay strong and that I wish I was there to give all of you the very biggest of hugs.I love you so much. XOXOXOXOXO

Dear Emma and family you are all in our prayers. I will let all of the people who pray daily for Daniel to include you as well as all of the children with this dreadful disease. The Hammer Family I believe are on their way today to a Conference in Chicago on Neuroblastoma. Know you are not alone and that we were where you are 2 1/2 years ago. It is a hard road but Daniel is doing so well. He is back to his fun and great sense of humor. I will check on you all often.
God Bless!

Hello little Emma! This is Heather's sister/Leah's aunt. I just wanted to say that you are so cute and so brave. No two-year-old girl should have to go through this, but you are going to be done with all of it very soon because you are strong. God is watching over you and you'll be feeling much better in a few months. You are in everyone's prayers-even people who don't really know you, like me, because you're such a sweet little girl. My love and support is with you and your family.
