Hi to all our precious readers
Hope all is well and everyone are getting ready for Easter, a great time to celebrate, so to start of with, Teena, I and the family are sending many prays and blessing on this special day. Happy Easter to all.
We have just got back from Perth for Teena's 3 monthly checkup and guess what we are now on our 6 months checkup, All was clear and Teena is just doing so well the docs always love seeing her. So that is great news Yeah!
Life is as normal as any other family at this time, Kids are all at school, Girls doing there dancing and scrapbooking and the little man doing his Auskick football.
Homework has taken over for 1hour each day after school and then the car pool commences. Fun. I'm still doing all my cakes and business is going well and Hubby still working hard, so this is what I call normal life back into the routines and in all my hopes and wishes it remains like this for a very very long time.

Don't ever feel discourage for every step you fall down as there is always twice as many steps to climb back up. Time, prays and blessings are on our side but the journey is taken for us to realize that. And that took me a long time to realize it. So I send you all my prays and blessings to all you wonderful families who are going through a rough journey, Hang in there guys because when you do get there it is an awesome feeling which will remain in you for a lifetime, and for the families who are already there they do understand, so I will leave you with this pray from us to you all.

WHEN THINGS GET REALLY TOUGH
RAISE YOUR EYES ABOVE THE HORIZON LINE
AND LOOK TO THE CROSS
ASK GOD TO PUT HIS BAND-AID ON THAT HURT
TO TUCK YOU UNDER HIS MIGHTY WINGS
AND SHELTER YOU FROM THE STORM
AND, HE WILL.

And send everyone a easter prayer.

EASTER WISHES THIS HOLIDAY
ARE SENT ACROSS YOUR WAY
TO EVERY FAMILY, FATHER, MOTHER
AND ENDLESS CHILDREN AS WELL
RELAYED IN THOUGHT OF JESUS
THE EASTER STORY TO TELL
REMEMBERING A VERY REAL STORY
HOW JESUS DIED ON THAT DAY
FOR SALVATION, ETERNAL LIFE AND GLORY
HAVE A TRULY BLESSED, WONDERFUL EASTER
AS JESUS TAUGHT EVERY PERSON IS OUR
TRUE FAMILY ONE AND ALL
REMEMBER THIS IN YOUR PRAYERS
FORGETTING NOT ONE SINGLE ONE AT ALL

All our Love
Josie and Teena

Hi Everyone
Well aren't the kids all settled in school now, and aren't we all more relax. Honestly I actually missed them, coming home to a empty house was lonely but no worries I'm sure my days are going to be busy.

Teena being grade three now, loves her new Teacher, she has a beautiful ascent and very young. She comes home with so many exciting things to talk about in what she's been doing all day, and she is over the moon she is getting homework next week. (yuk I remember we used to hate homework.)

Angela started 1st year of high school which is exciting and she also loves it and Salvatore in grade 5 and also likes his teacher, a typical boy on asking him how school is and he replies "it's ok mum"

Lazy Sunday morning, relaxing day today as it is hot and the aircons are going full on all day, later on in the pool. The kids are just playing playstation which gives me alot of time to potter around.

Well time to finish up hoping we are finding everyone in good health.

Keep strong
Keep Smiling

All our love
Josie

Hi everyone

Well its been a while since we last wrote in the journal and to all our friends. Life has been of fun things to do. We hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas and a Great New Year.
Just before school finished we had ll concerts, and parties under the sun ,school concerts which the theme was the sixties, dance which costume was indian and so on need to take a look at the pics, teena just loves dressing up.
School Holidays has kept us busy , we commenced in December 8th and we return on Feb 1st 2006 so close to a 8 week holiday and haven't i kept the kids busy.
As soon as the kids finished school I gave them a rest for a week then we were off. First we took of too Perth, Teena needed her checkup and again "ALL CLEAR" her hieght has shot up another 3cm in three months but just 300gms of wieght she will be a tall girl and she is only 7 1/2yo.

We caught up with family as we normally do, since our family is huge we do dissapoint a few as we seem to run out of time and I sure you know what that is like, gone for swims, movies, shopping you know all the fun things.
We got home in Kalgoorlie and we needed a holiday on top of a holiday. So we did relax but I was quite busy doing Christmas Cakes for my clients and organizing christmas presents and then trying to hide them from the kids, usually evwerything is done before the kids start there school holidays but cause they finished 2 weeks prior I sure it put ever mother behind schedule.

Well Christmas came and we welcomed the New Year in with the year to be full of excitement and worry free but as we all know, "YOU TAKE DAY BY DAY"
Before you know it we were back in Perth again this time with Joe as for work commitments its rare he takes holidays. He hadn't seen the family for over a year so he enjoyed it, the weather was beauitful which we all enjoyed.

Back in kalgoorlie and starting to organize school stuff as there is just under 2 weeks left to go, well hasn't the holidays gone by quick.

The weather in Kalgoorlie has on ther other hand been up and down especially the cyclones on top of WA near Port Headland and so on. We've had heaps of rain what we wouldn't get in winter we got all in summer and its been cool but now we are sleeping with our air-cons on as its been hitting the high 40's and the nights come down to the high 20's way to hot to sleep, we are due to have more rain and cool weather soon as there is a new cyclone that has approached Port Headland again. Some of therse town have not recovered since the last one 2 weeks ago places are still flooded and they are going to get worst.

I need to finish up as I could be here all day but we are hoping everyone is doing great and hoping all tests and scan results are great too.

Just a little note to remind you if you do visit please write in the guess book Teena and I look forward to reading it and I promise to write back as soon as I can.

PLEASE SIGN IN

Keeping Smiling
All our love and God Bless

Hi everyone

It is amount time I did write I honestly need to apologize to everyone for not writing any sooner. Life down under has been fast and has not stopped.
Teena and I have been to Perth to do her scans several times since i wrote last and she is doing beautifully what every parent wishes for. Her life has been full of joy and laughter and she has been busier than me.

Her dancing is what she is loving at this present time and she loves getting her hair done and makeup on for the competitions which i do myself and she thinks that is special. Her hair lenght has now gone past her shoulders, curly as ever and very dark, considering she was quite blonde to start of with. Her first dancing competition started at christmas and well we were just in tears just to see her beauty. (Me being a modest mother but why not?) She has also shot up in height which is scary my kids are leaving me behind in the hieghtness and I'm not short. I'm 5foot 8 and teena being 7 years old is up to my chest hieght and my other daughter being 11yrs is up to my nose. She is also halve a head taller than her 9yr old brother. She will be tall and she certainly has legs for dancing. She and her dancing partners have a dance comp on Sunday 23rd which I'm sure it will be great. will send some pics of her later on but new pics are in her album just for you all to take a look on how well she is doing.

We are not due to go back to Perth until December just before Christmas, which really is just around the corner, so will let you know then.
Teena has also stated her scrapbooking which she enjoys doing with her sister and she's pretty good at it and I'm teaching her how to make flowers out of icing since I'm a cake Decorator, taugh my oldest daughter and she said she wants to learn so she doesn't get left out which is pretty cool, so int the last couples of months they have been great help for my business but the best thing it is something we can all do together which is actually priceless.

Well I will stop going on about us and we are hoping everyone is doing great, our prayers are with you all. It does get hard to reply to everyone but we will try herder to reply, we don't spend to much time on the computer basically we are not qizz at it but I will eventually find a easier way to reply to everyone and have attaching pitures to it like everyone sends us. If anyone has a clue on how to go and extent this web page, please email me on josephinecam@bigpond.com as maybe I need a special program, I don't know.

On that note have a beautiful day and may days ahead remember take one day at a time and we are praying for all the kids are doing well and keeping on with the remission and all the kids who are still fighting, well keep on fighting and stay strong cause if you beleive it will come true. Our faith are with you all.

we love you all

Teena and Josie

Hi again

Today is a day of relaxing absolutely nothing to do. We are actually veging out as the kids do say. As we all relax I was just looking around and thinking to myself how precious is this. A moment to breathe, relax, hear the kids laugh and just enjoy every single moment. Good therapy. Just need to try it.

The renovations in the house are getting done. The new kitchen and Teena finally gets to have her own room.

She's not sure of sleeping alone as she has always shared a room with her older sister who is 5 years older than Teena, so time the girls have a room of there own. She has many cool things to place in the room and I think she will do fine. The weather here is beautiful but too hot to play in. Time to go outside is either in the morning before 10.30am or later at 4.00pm, so in between kids need something to do and I can tell you they are eating the pantry out....good for there tummy's not good for my pocket, but hey its all fun.

So for now I will finish this, make sure you all have a great day keep in touch.

God Bless
love

Josie

PS> Notice alot of people are opening Teena's site which is fantastic, so please keep it up but also write in our guestbook. We would love to hear from you even if it is a hello only.

Thursday 30th December 2004 5.30pm

Hi everyone

Hoping everyone had a lovely christmas and sending you all many many joy and prays for the New Year.

It has been a long time since I have writtn in the journal but as I've mentioned there is not enough hours in the day. Life has been back to normal. Teena had her last scan on the 8th of December 2004 and everything is great all scans are clear and she is totally in Remission.

The Travel always seems to tire us out. We travel to Perth every 3 months for 2 to 3 days to get tests done and usually takes us a week to recover, don't know why but it does.

Teena has graduated year 1 with flying colours receiving the Encouragement Award out of all the 4 grade 1 classes. zwhen Teena began school this year she didn't know how to read nor write her name as the time she was diagnoised the class was just learning that and she missed out completely. When arriving into her new classroom, there were new faces and these kids knew how to read and write so she felt left out but hey towards end of the year her report showed all excellent grades with the award that was given to her. The only dissapointing thing about it was we were in Perth getting checked up when they announced on graduation night, so they made a special day for her with all the grade ones, and Goodness did she feel special, it brought tears to my eyes. I'm very proud of her and her achievements in the past Year.

I take my time in developing photos but I do have many to show you. So look out in the New Year. Her hair is total full on curly looks absolutlely georgeous.

Time to feed the kids so don't forget to write in the guest book as we look forward to it.

Keep well everyone and keep smiling, our prayers are with you all.

God Bless

Josie

Hi everyone. Sorry Have been so busy the last 4 weeks or so but hope everyone is well. Teena is doing fine as she is now in remission as we were told on the 18th of February 2004. Our prays are with you all.
GOD BLESS LOVE JOSIE
Cont.
After Taking Teena into theatre I head off to find Joe waiting outside the doors, just gave each other a hug and held on tight. We went into the parent retreat room and the ladies were absolutley gorgeous there. After having a cuppa trying to settle the nerves we decided to head out of the hospital for a nice long walk and fresh air afterall the doctors told us it will be a 4 hour operation.

4 hours seemed to go on forever but I only lasted 2 hours for that walk and i just had to back, just a feeling, I don't know, we waited, waited and waited, and paced, paced and paced before to long the hours became 7. Joe and I keeped asking the ladies if they could find out on what was going on and they did, but nothing to report just that the phone kept ringing to let one of the parent's know which child is in recovery. Every single phone call Joe and I would look at each other hoping it would be Teena. Half a hour later the doctors came in to see us and my heart just stopped. The doctors came in to let us know that Teena was in recovery nad doing well and they also mentioned what took so long.

Her Tumour weight was 1kg and was attacting itself to the main blood arteries which would of hit stage 3 to 4 within two weeks. The tumour was attacted the RH Kidney which was removed and that she also had a collasped lung. Could not tell you what I was thinking because to this very day I can't remember as was a black cloud over us with lightning strikes.

Joe had gone to recovery for Teena as I sat down to take this all in.

Septmeber 16th Tuesday 2003

We both stayed the night and the other kids went home with nanna. Today she was transferred upstairs to Ward 5A, the Surgical ward where she would stay for a week for recovery after her surgery. The day was full of colouring in, drawing, watching videos and playing cards.

September 17th Wednesday 2003

The unhappy day but full of faith and prays, Teena was getting prepped up for surgery, we meet the doctors doing the surgery and they looked confident, which gave us a bit of relief.
Teena picked me to take her to theatre which I did not long for, got to the threatre doors and I lost it could not keep the tears in and Teena just looked at me with a big smile, squeezing my hand and said "I love you mum" I soon walked out when she fell asleep.
This day I call it DA-CHA-VU.
Memories came flooding back to me, as I did exactly the same thing, when I took my son to theatre doors in Royal Melbourne Childrens Hosp for his Heart Operation then he was 10days old in 1996 September 9th, and on our 6th Wedding Anniversary.

Monday, March 8, 2004 1:18 AM CST

Sunday 14th September

The Doctor got in touch with us, and told us that Teena was going to be admitted on Monday 15th September 2003.
We made this day a big day for Teena as she was excited her father was arriving.

September 15th 2003

This is the day we have all dreaded, Teena got admitted into Princess Margaret Hosp and I got admitted in at Royal Perth Hosp for my day surgery.

Her father Joe, her nanna, and her brother and sister was with her all morning until I got discharged at lunch time, in that time all the x-rays, ultrasound and blood tests were done. But the most important information of all was waiting until I got in.
As soon I arrived I saw Teena sharing a room with a little girl named Kaitlyn and her Mother Coleen was there too they made us feel welcomed but I was still dumfounded on what was happening until the doctors got me and Joe together and told us of the situation of Teena and what we were all up for.

Monday, March 8, 2004 0:22 AM CST

The Story continues.

We got in too see the doctor, he looked at her mentioning she's a cutie, then looked at me and asked the question.
As I explained to him what was happenening he had grabbed her and put her on the bed to check her out and looked at me and said it was a Wilm's Tumour, looking at him I didn't know what to say, just frozed holding in all my fears that not any parents wish to hear. Her father wasn't there at the time as he was in Kalgoorlie working but he had no idea what was going on, not even knowing I brought her to the doctors. My thought was, HOW ON EARTH CAN I MENTION THIS TO HIM, especially on the phone.

That morning we were sent to X-rays, got the definite answer that it was true.

All I could tell Teena was, it was a big sore on her tummy that needs to be fixed, trying to hold the tears in.
I took her home and treated it as a normal day waiting for the doctor to get in contact with us. We went for a long walk with her older brother and sister and her baby cousin, hearing the laughters and joys out of all the kids enjoying the walk and picking the flowers, Teena full of smiles and yet I was still trying to hold in the tears, thinking on how to tell her father.

2 hours went by and I found the courage to ring him to let him know, the rest was blank, all I could remember was no more tears could fall and our hearts were drowning.

Tuesday, March 2, 2004 0:51 AM CST

It was the 13th of September a Thursday and the weather was great hardly rained in Kalgoorlie always sunshine here in the land of Gold, we were getting ready to head of to Perth on Friday morning on the train, all the kids were excited except me as I new I had to go in for day surgery.

It Was Friday morning, Teena once again complaining about a sore tummy and I had to get the kids organized to get on the train so I had said to Teena "here is some panadol take it" She had taken and then off we went on the train to Perth. The Train arrived that afternoon at 3.00pm, Teena still not feeling too good but she was still full of energy excited to be seeing her nanna who had meet us at the train station. We drove all to Fremantle where I grew up and the grandparents lived. Teena was sound asleep on the way down but woke up when we arrived. It was a good night with the family alot of catching up.

It was Saturday morning the 15th of September. A usual morning, Kids waking up getting ready to have breakfast.
Teena looked a bit pale but I thought maybe the train trip or a late night. 1/2 hour later Teena was upset and had mentioned her tummy was sore. I told her to go to the toilet hoping that emptying her bowels would be the end of the tummy upset. She came back too me in tears.
I told her to lie down next to me so I could rub her tummy so she did and I started to rub. To my horror, my hand had just sat into her tummy and a great big lump on her side had popped out. It wasn't there the night before as I remembered she showed her tummy off her Aunty. My first thought was "Oh, god her tummy moved". Got my mother to ring the doctors and being on a Saturday morning it was all booked out, after 5 tries we finally found on an older doctor in his 80years, remembering the secretary saying to me "he is a older man but wise" I returned the reply "don't care need to see him".
