Joshua was diagnosed with a very rare cancer named Pleuropulmonary Blastoma in November 2002. In October 2003 he completed chemotherapy. In December 2003, Joshua relapsed with brain mets. In April 2004, Joshua completed a stem cell transplant. Read all about him, enjoy his photos and sign the guest book or email us so we know you were here. Journal Entries from 2002

Thursday, June 26th UPDATE: ALL SCANS WERE CLEAR TODAY! OUR BUDDY JAKE BERESH HAD A GOOD SCAN DAY TOO! GOD BLESS AND THANK YOU FOR CHECKING IN ON JOSHUA!
Joshua and his buddy Jake have scans this Thursday! Please keep them in your prayers that all continues to look clear on both of them.
I will update as soon as we find out on Thursday. It's been a little crazy around here with the hugely successful walk on June 7th, vacation and then Joshua gaining a new little cousin last week. Hope all is well!
March 31, 2008 Okay, that is really pathetic that I haven't updated in so long and the picture is from last summer. ugh! (okay updated that now)
As you might guess from my lack of updates, everything is going very well. Joshua has been enjoying basketball all winter and now baseball is starting up. He is pretty excited for that to start, but also just enjoys just hanging with his brothers, playing the game systems (of course) and finally getting outside since it has warmed up a bit. Still not close to where we would like it to be, but we are heading in the right direction now. It was one very LONG and COLD winter here.
Tanner just turned 13 and Justin, 19, in February, which makes me feel old. Joshua will be 10 years old in May, which is really unbelievable. When I think back to all that he has been through, it just doesn't seem possible that he could be in remission for over 4 years now and be closing in on 10. We thank God daily for how well he is doing, as we see no side effects yet from treatment. We keep our eyes open for any little thing to pop up and pray that it won't be anything too serious.
One big thing that is coming up soon is the CureSearch WALK. It is on June 7th this year at Village Pointe again from 8 - 10 AM. I sure hope that you consider walking with us this year and helping us raise some much needed money for research. We raised over $100,000 last year, but since we are the biggest walk in the country for them it is important that we continue to grow and help find a cure. That is the only way we are going to be able to save these children that we seem to keep losing. I am so very sad to say that we have attended way too many children's funerals in the last few years. Before we were thrown into this world of childhood cancer, I would of never guessed it was so deadly or that 46 children per day are diagnosed with cancer. We have lost dear little friends and cannot imagine the unbearable pain their families go through each day without being able to hold them in their arms. Please help us raise money for this cause. If you know of any fundraising ideas, let me know or if you know of a company that may want to sponsor the walk, please email me.
Please keep the many children that are fighting so hard in your prayers and give praise for the ones doing so well who are in remission. Joshua will have scans again in June and we pray that he and all the other children will remain in remission forever. God bless.
