Loved seeing the picture of your "no longer young" kids. Wow, Morgan has grown up so much! Her face has lost the little girlness and is starting to look like a young lady. (I KNOW you don't want to hear that!) :-)

Anyway, it was nice stopping by and catching up!

It is great to hear about average family things like EOG's. Khalid is so excited to be starting Kindergrten in the fall. I am so excited for him and scared at the same time. Does the nervousness ever go away? Your family is awesome!

Hi Morgan,
My name is Lynn. I remember going to the hospital to see you when you were sick. Some friends and I prayed for you do much when you were young. I am so happy that you are healthy now. I believe God used the doctors and medicine to heal you.
He has plans for you Jer.29:11-12

Hi Morgan!

You're such a good girl to explain your diseases to the other children. Mamie was always quick to tell people about her cancer and the treatments.

When you're Mommy said she is nervous about messages from teachers, it reminded me of an old TV show called Leave It to Beaver. One time Beaver lost a note his teacher had sent home with him. He assumed it was about something he had done wrong (which it was not) and he got his big brother to type a note back to the teacher and pretend it was from his mother. The part I remember is "I have beat him, his father has beat him, and we will beat him again tomorrow." Of course, a note like that today would get the whole family in jail for life, but it was funny back then.

Wow, Morgan, HOlden, and Lyndon are so big now!! I just wanted to say hi, and let you know that I was thinking of you... I check on the website every now and then to see how you guys are doing... I don't always write and say anything, but just wanted to let you know that we still continue to remember you guys! You are one of my happy endings, that I can tell other families I am dealing with about... That there are children who survive and do well!!
I Hope that you all have a wonderful summer... it can't get here soon enough for Abby... if you can believe this, she is 10 now and finishing up 4 th grade. Don't know if you knew, but I had twins a couple of years ago... they are 2 (identical girls) and so evil right now!! Hope things continue to go well for you! Pheresis is still busy!

Morgan and Family,
I am glad to read all of the wonderful things that Morgan is participating in and I love those big numbers when talking about being off treatment! I was sad to hear about the scoliosis, but Morgan is a fighter and will take this on and beat it, too.

Hey friend,
Iunderstand exactly what you mean about feeling a little sad and a little bogged down. I do realize just how blessed we are and I realize that the few issues Taylor has are small, but we are human and it is easy to let those things get to us from time to time. I am praying that Morgan will be healed of this easily with no surgery. I pray that she continues to look pn the bright side and not be bothered by it. We do enough worrying for them! Know we are always praying! I am so glad to hear your mom is doing well. Our God is so very good!

I am so glad to see that things are going so well in the Barnes house. Praise God!!! You and I are so much alike. Last year Taylor missed 3 days all year, but his report card said 4. I argued and showed every calendar and excuse I had to prove them wrong. It really was no big deal. But when a child with their health history is out so few days it is a huge deal and I let them know it! Happy birthday to Jerry! Hello to your mom! Have a great holiday season and we will check back soon.

I celebrate this milestone with you and Morgan. What an accomplishment. 6 years ago dx with NB, that is amazing. You are so right when you say the odds are stacked against these kiddos, and when they survive like this, well it is just awesome. I like you also have some survivors guilt. Sometimes I wonder why have we seen so many children go onto heaven and here is Jared 5 years later happy and healthy. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled but wonder why not Janie, why not Michaela, why not Dustin or any other child who we have met along the way who is no longer on this earth. There is no explanation for this issue, it just is what it is. That being said, may you have 100 more wonderful, healthy years. And happy Anniversary too. Keep in touch.

Hello, I too am part of the Emily's Power for a Cure Team through my relationship with the Ransom family. I had never heard of Nueroblastoma until 2004 when I was speaking with a coworker of mine and she told me her son had died of this terrible disease (www.geocities.com/jeremiah123199), and then in 2005 a dear family friends daughter Emily was diagnosed with it, that year I ran a marathon in Ireland to raise money for Emily's fight, but her fight ended shortly before my run. I am doing this full marathon for Morgan and all of the other children out there. My family raised nearly $7500 this year and as a team were are hoping to reach our $100,000 goal!
I will keep Morgan and your family in my prayers!

Allison,

Selling your house, and living there with three little people is no easy thing to do. Just remember you have to live there like you don't live there. Do you have access to HGTV, maybe watching a show like "Designed to Sell" and also "Sell that House". These shows are good at pointing out things to do that make your house staged for selling. It is sometimes hard to see these things as we have our house to live in it not to show it. Real estate agents do make the difference. When you listed, how did you arrive at your price? Check out your competition in your area. Sometimes, it is in the pricing that doesn't even get people in the door. When you listed with the discount broker, I'm not sure how much advertising they do for you. Things will pick up!

I wish you all the very best and am praying for God to open doors for your job to make things easier on your family commute! Have a great Spring!

Hi all! I love your Disney pics!!! I can't wait until December when we go. The kids don't know, but I think I am more excited than they would be if they knew!!! I can't belive how tall Holden is, He is way bigger than Taylor! I can't believe he is 6, he was just a baby when we were in NYC. You are so patient, I would be nuts if I was trying to move and my house didn't sale right when I wanted it too.

Hi friends,
I didn't think you were ever going to update! Just kidding, I am thrilled to know that you are so busy with "normal" that time just slips away! I am amazed at the similarities of our families, still after all this time. Shh, don't tell, but we are going to Disney for Christmas this year. It is a secret gift for the boys! Taylor had pretty good handwriting, but we have to go back into the school at least once a week for his lunch box and just yesterday he forgot his football jersey that he took off, his jacket (it is freezing in his room) and his homework folder. But, like you said, we can deal with that! Now, no one in our family has gotten their hand stuck in an elevator, but I am a preschool teacher and one of my kids came in the other day with a red and swollen hand, she had gotten it stuck in an elevator in the hospital. It is sometimes eary the similarities:) I hope that you have a wonderful September and I can't wait to check in next month!
Oh, Allison, are you still doing tastefully Simple? If so, we want to order again!!! Just let me know.

You have been busy! Happy Birthday and anniversary to you all! We were in Las Vegas when all this started for us! We had closed on our house on a Friday morning, dropped a sickly Taylor off with grandparents and flew to Las Vegas that same afternoon. We got several calls while gone that he was feversih and not well and then a call that he was fine. Of course, at that time we were not worried and it was another 2 months before the actual diagnosis came, but it makes me sick to think of what was going on. Anyway, I know you will have fun and much deserved fun too!!! Be sure to go to New York New York and see how life like it is!

I love the new pictures. Those polka dots are cute and Mr. Holden is handsome as ever!
Camp will be great. Taylor went to Camp Smile A Mile (our Al camp for cancer kids) last yr. It liked to have killed me thiinking no contact, but we made it. I just knew he would be wanting to come home in a day, but no way! You are right in that they learn some independence and other stuff. He had to bathe, dress, go to bed etc all by himself. He also leanred to eat more. He is so very picky, but at camp there were not a lot of choices at each meal. He came home loving things he would never have eaten before. Wow, a week camp for siblings! We have a sibling weekend, boy Logan would love a week!!!
I am praying for the test week in NYC to go smooth and everything to look great!!!
Love to all,
Kim

Ps. We did make to NC a few weeks back, but it was snowing and freezing, so we stopped at the Biltmore and spent the night in the dark since the wind had knocked the power out and then headed to SC where it was 80! However, we did love the Biltmore and the lovely state of NC. Wow, there are a lot of colleges there!!!

Happy Easter friends!!!
I am so thrilled to read that everyone is doing well. We too have packed up the winter stuff due to several weeks of 80 degree weather and now iti s 20 something today. It doesn't matter today since Taylor is out with a tummy bug. I have said it a million times before, cancer familes should be immune from normal illness. Anyway, It seems trueto fashin that our families are on teh same page. We are in the midst of ball for both boys where i could cry after every up to bat for Taylor. If I really let myself stop to think about it I would be a sobbing wreck. Taylor has a school program on May 1st. Luckily for me they just have to wear their school field trip shirt and jeans. I quite like your idea of a gray sweat suite to make a squirrel. It is exactly what I would have done!!! And then there is Logan who is not from this family. He talks funny and he is acts crazy:) I wouldn't trade him for anything.
We wish you were not on spring greak already. We have it on the 16-20th and we are heading to the Biltmore House and surrounding areas for the week. I was hoping we could meet up. I will let you know our exact plans later and maybe a weekend date will be good for us all. If not, one day!
Have a great Easter. God is good and he has shown that in out children.
Love to all,

Hello all,
I can not believe how big Lyndon is getting. Wow, time really flies! Leave it to Taylor and Morgan to give us scares close to the same time. Those two have some sort of secret bond, I just know it. I am glad that things seem to be back to normal, but will certainly be keeping her in prayer.
Love to all,

Hi. It's great to hear stories like Morgan's. I am glad that she is doing so well. Our daughter, Marissa, was diagnosed on 11/27/2006 with stage IV Neuroblastoma. So far things are going well, the Lord has been working his miracles. Morgan's story gives us so much hope. Thank you.

Hello All
We are so thankful you all had a great Christmas. Morgan, sorry to hear about the playground accident. But, of course, you're tough right?? Allison, thanks always for your words of encouragement. You are an inspiration and a wealth of knowledge to help guide other parents in this situation.
I'm not sure what Lillie's schedule is but hopefully we will cross paths at Brenner soon.

Long time since I have signed, but not a long time since I've thought of you. I think of you almost every day and want you to know you're in my prayers. Although I know life is never "normal" again after you go through an ordeal like the one you've been through, it's nice to hear from people who aren't having to constantly deal with every day illness stuff anymore. Thanks for continuing to update. You give so many people hope for more good days and years with your testimony. Blessings in Christ.

HI all! Your life sounds like ours! Taylor has been without his front teeth since he was 3, so she will get used to that very soon. Luckily hers seem to be ready to come in. True to Morgan/Taylor fashion he has 2 loose teeth on the bottom now that Morgan has lost one! We had a dentist visit today and all his permanent teeth are there and healthy. Praise God! HOwever, they are not ready to come in with exception to the 2 lower ones that are loose. The uppser two that have been gone since he was 3 still like another 2 or so years before coming in. That is great! His molars look to be about 5 years in the making! However, I am so thrilled that the permanent teeth are there and will eventually come in. I guess he can be a snaggle tooth for a while and we will be fine with that!!! We have a dear friend who has an 17 month old daughter who has a wild child streak and she broker her arm last week.
Well, enjoy the new year and getting back to the normal routine. We go back to school on the 8th. Taylor is ready, he misses his friends. We will check back soon!
Love to all,
Kim

Heya Allison!!
How are you doing?? It's soo good to hear all the wonderful news. You've had a busy month with birthdays and other fun parties. It's sooo wonderful to read all the good things happening to Morgan. Congrats on the Tooth fairy visit. I'm sure that was very exciting. :) Happy Belated birthday to you and Holden!! I'm sorry to hear about Morgan's two missing adult teeth. However with everything else Morgan has been through teeth can very easily be fixed..we learned that with Skyler. :) Do you remember us speaking before about Owen and his mother Karin Lea?? Well, Owen went to MSKCC for the antibody treatment after his first relapse. They just received word that he has relapsed yet again...this time in his brain. They are at MSKCC for treatment now and will be there for the next 18 months. IF you happen to run into them and you have the time. I'm sure Karin would really enjoy talking with you!! She's such a wonderful person. I love the new pictures. Everybody is growing up and they are all soo beautiful!! Lyndon is getting soo big!! Take care. We're thinking of you all often. Have a wonderful day!!

Hello Morgan,

I'm glad your mom signed Ryan's guestbook. www.caringbridge.org/visit/ryanmalarkey

Ryan is doing pretty well. He is gaining weight and running around like a normal 3 year old. We are in between tandem stem cell transplants. He goes back to CHOP in September for his second. We will then be going to MSKCC for 3F8 antibody treatments.

Thanks for giving us hope. It is always great to hear about other kids that have won the battle with Neuroblastoma.

Hey guys. Sounds like you are all having a blast. We are too. I know all too well what you mean about being so proud of watching Taylor look like everyone else. At times I want to scream out, "do you know what he has been through" and others I am amazed that people can't tell.
I had not heard about Sarah and I am absolutely devastated. I will have to go straight to her page. I tell ya, this beast is nasty and it STILL scares me to death. Tell your mom to read the (very short) book "I hope you dance" by Lee Ann Womack...it's a song put in book form with pictures. I think you both will like it, if you haven't heard it already! It goes along with being victorious in life and living it well. I think you all already know a lot about that, but might appreciate the book and CD anyway. Blessings and prayers dear one! Just wanted to let you all know that no matter where I have been all of you have been in my thoughts and prayers, mom has always kept me updated on how things were going. I have so many fond memories with all of you. I found a beautiful picture of Allison in a photo album of mine over the the last few days while visiting mom and everyone. I'm living in Greenville NC now, working at Dennys. I'll be coming home again the end of April. It would be great to see you all. Tell everyone I said hello and I love them.

You are one busy woman! I am exhausted after reading your entry and I'm just sitting here. I am so glad Morgan is doing well. I spoke to the director from Camp Debbie Lou today and I hope it works out where you guys can attend. It is so much fun! Please keep Walker in your prayers. He has scans scheduled for April 13th & 14th in NYC.

Hi - I came across your site-CBsurfing_ and you have given me some hope for a little 6 year old starting her journey through chemo-she has stage4 neuroblastoma and was dx'd early this week- started chemo right away and will be discharged on Sunday. I forwarded your site to her mom's friend! Isn't it great to be able to pass on hope to others.

Hi Barnes Family,
You had such a busy February, I know March will be much better. Give everyone a big hug and a kiss for me. Please tell Morgan and Holden, Mrs. Tonjua still checks up on them and misses them a lot. Take care and I'm sending you something. Love you ALL.....

Allison,
I sure hope you can get the new urine results quickly so that you will be able to breathe easier once more. I also hope all 5 of you will be well in March. Perhaps the worst of the winter bugs are over. I'm hoping for the same here in Kansas.
Thinking of you,

Hi Morgan! I am sorry you have been having some sickness. I heard on the news that the flu and respitory is flared up all over NC so it is possible the germy school(I taught so I know germs run wild there lol) was a reason. But I am glad you are feeling better. I have to laugh bc I was flying back and forth between NJ and Gso the same time you were.

OK, this is just weird! My name is Megan and I follow many children's caringbridge sites and have for about 2 years now. I am also a member of several sites on MSN, one called Giving Hope. I was chatting on the site tonight and told someone where I was from. Lewisville, NC! She said she followed several children from NC and asked if I knew Morgan. I said, No and asked for her site address. To make a long story longer...your kids were in my son's karate class!! What a small world!! I will add Morgan and your family to my prayer list as well as my list of kids I follow regularly! You may not remember me from class...we only went for 6 months. His name was Alex. Blonde hair and he was the biggest kid in the class. I was usually wearing scrubs and had my younger daughter with me. So nice to "meet" you! Feel free to e-mail me. Maybe we can get together for a playdate or something! Alex is 6 and Camryn is 2.

Hi guys. Well, I think it is just par for the course for something crazy to happen on route to or from NYC. I am glad that you got to come hone early and that your CT was clear. I just know that everything else is too. We rotate out scans every time. We did CT and bone scan in Oct. and MIBG only in Feb. We will do CT and bone scan in May. I have liked this method. The Ct shows his asthma good and the MIBG makes me feel better about the cancer. We go in May again since out 3 year mark is in April. I think we will move then to 6 months apart. I am ready yet not ready for that length of time.
I am anxiously waiting on the all clear to come in. I am praying daily. I had to laugh at the pic on the main page. Holden doens't look real happy with all the girls. I know he loves them though.
Love ya'll,
Kim
