This may be way too simple, but a friend had a little girl with some of those same problems, recurring diarhea, etc. and she solved it by changing out the toothbrushes! The little girl was reinfecting herself with the virus every time she brushed her teeth! Scalding the brush afer every use would also do the trick.
Here's hoping, and praying,it is normal childhood stuff.

What a weekend. My legs are tired just from reading about all the walking. My, how our families are always on the same page. Logan still has a very bad diaper rash and the poop to go with it. I am a nervous wreck. This is exactly how it all started with Taylor. He had horrible diapers then rash and then you know the rest. I am sure since they both have had it this week it is just a virus, but it still does not sit to well with me especially one week away from scans. I am looney anyway:) I hope that this week flies by and you are soon sipping sweet tea in the Carolinas. I hope that this hurricane does not delay your trip home. I don't even know where it is supposed to go, I just know I always worried about those things during my last few days up north.

As for the situational addiction...I belive in that whole-heartedly...Cody still begs for "sleepy" medicine when we go to the hospital...I believe he does it for two reasons...One: he knows I don't care for the narcotics...Two: he knows that with them it is not as difficult to get through the treatments...

Anyway...there's my two cents :-} Hope it helps...in the mean time...I am sending you all lots and lots of prayers...

Hi guys! I have been a bout to bust not being able to check in on ya'll. We finally made it on our cruise, but it started out bad! It ended up good though. I tell ya, these kids of ours have some sort of communication going on that we do not know about. We flew out of here Monday morning to catch a flight and left Taylor with pure ole water poops. He had to put pull ups on since he couldn't stop it from happening. He has had it all week! I of course have been a crazy person being in another country with no way to contact home!! Anyway, I found out today when I got back to Orlando that Logan has the runs too. I probably sounded like the worst mother of the year receipient to the people around me when I was excited that he too was sick. I too fell as you do when they both have something going on. I hope that Morgan feels better and that this next week is fast.

I work with Allison at Southeast Middle School. Although I don't see Morgan very often, unless of course you count the many, many pictures of both Morgan and Holden in Allison's office, I feel as if I know her closely and see her everyday. We have all "adopted" Morgan as our own. We expect, and get, daily updates. Allison's strength and faith are uplifting and I believe that God is working through Allison and Morgan to send a message to all people. I feel blessed to have met Allison and to get to be a part of the multitudes of people who love her and pray for the entire family everyday. Hi, I was holding Logan the other day when I signed in and couldn't get much written. I hope that Morganis feeling better and no more episodes have occured. WE are 99% sure that taylor had a sore spot. He is no longer limping. I of course talked to the NP several times and we are not worried about it. He had no other symptoms to concern us and he really did have a red spot where he was hurting. You know how it is, nothing can be simple. I hope that NYC is a fast and easy trip. I hope that NC doesn't get hit by Frances. She is ruining our cruise plans for this weeknd. She needs to hit the road!!! ALl our prayers for the upcoming journey.

Hi guys, I signed your guestbook the other night and somehow lost it before I posted it. So, I will try again. I am so glad to hear that Morgan is loving school. That is so awesome. I know what you mean about them growing up so fast, but at the same time it is nice that it is going so fast since a few years ago we were not so sure that these milestones would be a reality for us. I do not envy you on all that laundry you are doing, but as a preschool teacher who also used that method, it works fairly quickly for most kids, so hopefully you will not wash too much longer. HI guys, I am so glad that all was well and those test results are awesome!! I thought about you this weekend when Taylor got a splinter. He wont let us get it out, so I guess it will get infected soon seeing as he is never clean for long:) Re-immuniziations, gotta love it. We have had 4 rounds so far and it has been rough. He got 5 at a time and he let them know he hated it. I can't wait to hear all about kindergarten, wow, you are getting so big. I hate that you will be in NYC for Labor day since we are heading your way. We are doing all the free stuff with the GKTW passport, so maybe next summer we can come back and get together on stuff we know the kids will enjoy. Taylor and Holden will be older anyway. Thanks for the message. I'm actually teaching and doing some counseling---9th graders :) fun, fun, fun. The kids aren't officially back yet, but orientation, schedules, and of course Fall sports are back around school. So, anyways--great advice. First, let me say, CONGRATULATIONS on the most perfect news in the world. I am so deeply happy for Morgan's continued remission. We are so proud of her . . . I know you all must just want to burst. What a strong, strong little girl you are, Morgan. I am so happy your very trying trip ended on such a wonderful note -- NED!
I also want to say I am sorry you had to deal with so many things at once during this trip. The testing is stressful enough -- and you all had about every other possible thing thrown into the mix. . . you are simply amazing, Alison. I know (and we have never even met) that you handle things so gracefully . . . I know you keep your patience with Morgan even when she is so upset. I can feel it in the way you write your journals.
I understand 100% how you felt waiting for the CT and waiting on sedation. We have been through that too many times and it is just the icing on the cake. For me, it has always been the one thing to throw me over the edge as well. Actually, we are going to be TWO months late getting Cam's testing done at Duke for this very reason. Anesthesiology cannot get us in until Aug. 24th, so we must wait. Cam cannot be still, either, so we are in the same boat. It seems to me there should be another way, but it seems like it is a common denominator among our children - the waiting game.
I also wanted to tell you I was in tears when I read your guestbook entry. I told my husband that you had sent me the most beatiful entry -- thank you. I have said many times I feel like I was chosen to be Cam's mother, becuase somehow God thought I could handle it. It is not always easy, but it is the highest compliment to be given a child that has to face adversity. I am sure you understand that sentiment very well.
Well, you all take care and enjoy that cloud nine feeling of knowing Morgan is more than alright -- she is NED! So glad for your good news and Morgan's health. Take care.

I know that this trip to New York has been both exciting and somewhat physically / emotionally overwhelming. Morgan and Allison, we are so jealous that you are getting to enjoy all the beautiful snow. Makes me want to run to Boston when you talk of getting more than 2 inches so we can enjoy a LARGE BEAUTIFUL SNOW ALSO. I do hope Morgan feels like getting out in it some. One good thing about North is the beautiful snows they get. We will pray there will be no snow on Friday when you leave. I'm sure Morgan will be telling you how much she loves you again soon. Kids really can hurt mom and dad's feelings without realizing it. Just remember that you are great mom and doing everything you can to fight for your little girls life. Unfortunately, the treatment makes her feel bad and she takes it out on you. Know that you are loved. I will pray that you DO get to hear her say that many more times over the years as she grows up and becomes a young woman since that will mean all the pain she is going through now was successful.

I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers and hope the rest of your time is NY is easier.

As a singer, I wish I had Morgan's lung power!! Wow! If she can yell loudly enough for people on the streets of NYC to hear, she must have great breath support! :-) I always admire the way you handle those situations with such a calm attitude and an ongoing sense of humor.

Glad you're getting to have some fun there in NYC. The RM House had so many wonderful things going on while we were there in May; can't imagine what it will be like in December. Enjoy!

I am also a believer in my child's full healing-i love your boldness and glorification to God for it. My daughter, Ashton, had ALL and is off chemo for 9 months next week. She was dx'd 9/15/00 and dod wonderful as you can on chemo-of course we had fevers, scares, etc...

Wishes for a very Blessed Thanksgiving!!! Yes we all have so much to be Thankful for, we are richly Blessed!!! I sure hope we get back on the same schedule again sometime, we would love to see you all again!!! Tom said that this last time there, it was kind of a slow two weeks with not much activities, and house dinners:( It sure makes the time go by nicely when there are great things to do at the house!!! Jesus has healed Morgan and we all know that it is true!!! Anything is possible with Faith and you all have had it and many, many have prayed for you all!!! I hadn't heard that Morgan had a broken leg and I'm so sorry that poor baby had to endure something else. Ohhh, the Oil of Olay bath works wonders for the dry skin....I'm still using it on Cole even though he is done with the Accutane. It's wonderful stuff. So glad Morgan's leg is on the mend!! It is great too, that she is handling her chair and everything so well. I can remember trick-or-treating many years with Bryan and his chair. When he was still "light" enough we would carry him, but that was quite a work out!! I think we have two rounds of accutane left. We are going to stop after the 6 rounds, that was what Dr.K. recommended to us, and I am very Happy that we will soon be done with that nasty stuff!!! Boy it sure does sound like you are very busy. It gets pretty crazy around here too. The boys are getting ready to head out the door to go trick or treating!!! Hi guys, glad things are still great. I do not know why they wouldn't let Taylor get a flu shot and they will not let him re-vaccinate either. We have to wait a year post transplant to get vaccinations. She told ud to call MSKCC and see what they recomended and they to said to wait at least a year and then they would do an immune function blood test to see if he was ready for them. Since we know we are not about to go back to preschool we didn't force the issue. I hope you all enjoy the week off as much as you can with a broken leg. I know she must hate being still, but like you say, it is ONLY a broke leg!! Praying everyday....

How funny your comment about Morgan have "Just a broken leg". I made a similar comment just this morning for an interview with a local paper and I said "we were inpatient a month ago for just a blood infection". How do we ever come to this point, how such huge things come so trivial. Keep up the good attitude. I think of you often. Sophia's dance partner will back on her feet again soon enough. What a great update. It was just full of good news. I am so glad she will not have to wear a brace. I broke my leg during my senior year in high school and wore a brace and hated every waking moment of it. I can imagine making a 4 year old do it. Even better than that was the results of NO TUMOR!!! WOW I can't believe what you have all been through this past week:( Poor Morgan, as if Antibodies are not enough!!! We will be keeping you all in our Prayers, for Morgans healing of her leg, and for some peace now that you are back at home!!! Oh My Goodness, what can happen next? You just never know what to expect from day to day. I wish you were out of there by now. I know it's not your fault and it's not the doctors fault, but I'm just SO impatient when it comes to things like this. I can't wait to read the update that says you're home. Yea! I know it'll come soon, but it can't come soon enough for impatient people like me.

Did Mom get to take you for a ride in a wheelchair today? Whenever I was sick in the hospital or visiting someone in a hospital, my Dad would always drive me around in a wheelchair so we could goof off together and I would cheer up. It was always tons of fun!

I know you probably can't be having too much fun in the hospital (who knows, I could be wrong), but I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow and I will be sitting here patiently (yeah right) awaiting an update saying you're home.

After his 2nd round of chemo he was walking and slipped on a piece of paper. He whined a little but never cried. He was so sick from the chemo we kind of forgot about the leg until the next day when he would not walk. He was still not crying at all (talk about pain tolerance). After an x-ray revealed a broken femur everyone (especially doctors) were surprised as they told us that the femur was the most painful bone to break in the body. He was in a spica cast for a week which ate through his skin. He then was in a special made brace for 10 weeks before his leg healed. He currently shows no signs that it was ever broken although when he is tired and doesn't want to walk he will tell me that his leg is broken. Hope all gets better.

I was so afraid that 3F8 was going to be tripple hard due to that leg. I hate that. It is bad enough to put their little bodies through that but to add to it with a broken leg, yuck!!! I hope it gets easier for her and that her appetite gets better. We have about 10 boxes of pediasure left over from when Taylor was on it, if you need it let me know and I will ship it to you. Good grief. I'm SO sorry to hear about the leg. "Normal" things just turn into big deals when you're a hem-onc patient don't they. A simple cold could be pneumonia and a broken leg could be so much more. I am praying with you that there will be no permanent damage and that the Lord would strengthen her bones and lessen her pain. Hi Morgan and Family, We are so sorry to hear about the ear infections, Madison (Sophia & Donna's Friend) suffered a lot of ear infections in the beginning too! We were not to happy with all those antibiotics, but luckily, (knock on wood) she has been doing alot better! We will pray that Morgan can sleep "peacefully" at night, Madison just stopped coming in to our bed, and she has been out of treatment for over two years! We bought her a "bunny" and told her when she was scared, to hug him, and remember Mommy and Daddy gave it to her to protect her, so far it works (we love bunny!). Can't wait to purchase one of those wonderful cookbooks!!! May God be with you all and help to carry you through this trying time. But, like you said look how much better this year is!! I am So sorry to hear that Morgan is still fighting an ear infection:( did the Doc's ever talk about tubes? Sydney has had a history of ear infections, and hearing loss, she has had tubes several times, and now this last time has really done the trick. She has only had one infection in the past couple of years, and her hearing has improved. Taylor is notorious for ear infections. He has had 2 sets of tubes the first at 1o months old. He got several infections during chemo that would put us inpatient. The last one he got in January and he entered stem cell with it and left stem cell with it. Finally in May it was gone and knock on wood, he has had no more since. He almost missed his stem cell date due to it, but it seemed to be getting better, but when you lose all your counts it just getrs worse. He was on everything imaginable and finally Diflucan of all things cleared it up. Finally they took a culture of the gunk and it was a bacteria that was being made worse by all the antibiotics rather than clearing up. So, we were started on an antifungal and it cleared right up. Anyway, Long story short, it will go away....one day:) You are all in our prayers. Sounds like a lot of fun is being had by all. Happy Birthday to you and Holden!!!

So Happy to read that the tests results are Great!!! And very glad that you made the drive home safely through that storm. I actually hate driving in the rain, even more than the snow, when Sam was just three months old, I was driving back from the cities with Brayn, and baby Sam, we spun out on the highway, and ended up in the ditch:( Something I will never forget, very scarry!!! Morgan is absolutely beautiful. Many prayers are coming your way for clean and wonderful scans. Though my child is almost 5 years out from cancer (highly malignant brain tumor) I will never breath any easier at each scan time. But I don't think about it anymore until the actual time has arrived. You too, will get to that wonderful point someday.

Hey there guys! Gosh, I know it breaks your heart when things like that happen at school because Cole does some of the same and is dealing with some bullying. What I have to remind myself of is that Morgan and Cole have been surrounded by seriously ill children who are too weak to play or do much of anything and sometimes are very bashful...perhaps Morgan is trying to determine if these kids will understand her being timid with all she's gone through or maybe it's a bit of a shock seeing such active people her age! She'll be fine, she's a beautiful little girl and she'll get along fine. I'm sorry about the fevers, but you know Accutane wearing her down now, with her cold and an ear infection could be just the culprit. That drug is a nasty one!! I'll betcha thats what you guys are dealing with......Sending many hugs and loves your way and please know you are in our prayers!!!! God bless you all and keep lifting pretty Morgan to Jesus....he's healing her!!!!!

Hi guys! I wish one day our appointments at Brenner would be on the same day and we could see you all!! I need to get Sarah back in for a hearing test too; it's been about four months and they said to have her re-checked to see if there's any more change. So many things to deal with on this journey--hearing loss, rusty social skills, always dreading a fever or an ache in a leg. Zoe also has had to have speech and has some hearing loss-a small price for being able to HEAR their "I Love You's" -I know you feel the same way.

As I read your journal entry, my mind raced as to all of the possibilities a high fever could be from. I am glad that it was just an ear infection, and that Morgan could come home that same night.

We heard from New York that Jessica has once again developed a HAMA. So, I guess we will wait and see what they tell us to do now. We just started oral chemo on Monday, so we need to get through that first.

I never thought I'd say this, but thank goodness for ear infections! How are you feeling now? Did you get some medicine to help you feel a little better? Ear infections stink, don't they? But when so many other things could have caused your recent fever, an ear infection is a good thing. Ask your Mom, I'm sure she'll agree. :o)

What a sweet, sweet story of Mr. Ott. What a sweetheart he must have been. Just from reading the short story posted of him on Morgan's site, I'm saddened by his passing and have tears in my eyes. I also think it's incredibly sweet that even in his death he thinks of Morgan by having all donations in his memory contributed to Morgan's fund. Thank you for sharing that incredibly sweet story. You've made my night.

What a very nice story about Mr. Ott:) It brought a smile to my face and a tear in my eye too. How blessed you are to have know such a kind and Loving man, What a wonderful thing his family did for Morgan!!! So glad the fever was an ear infection!!! Carl too had a fever early Sat.morning. He ended up having a seisure with it. He has a history of these seisures from fever, even only 101 can bring on a seisure, it is very scarry. We don't know the source of the fever? We have heard that the antibodies can bring on a phantom fever. He has been fine ever since?? Always something to keep us on our toes, no letting our guard down for a moment. Hi guys!! How are things around there. No more fever I hope. We have been using the shay butter cream and stick. He also uses the shay butter lip balm. So far only his lfet cheek is dry, no peeling yet. I suppose it gets worse with each use?? I will have to try the vitamin E that sounds like it would feel good on cracked lips. We did our HAMA today, so we should find out next Wednesday. I have mixed feelings about it. We are going to finish the trtmnt, so I guess we would be better off just going on schedule. No one has any idea rather he will be neg or pos. He had no pain, but neither did half the kids up there that week. We shall see!!

We hope you are feeling better, and that fever is long gone!!! I think there are alot of virus's going around, go figure just when the kids go back to school. Tom was feeling like he had a cold coming on a few days ago, but I have not heard him talk about it anymore. Carl had a bit of a runny nose too, keeping our fingers crossed that it does not turn into a nasty cold. We are keeping busy (kids and I at home) cleaning closets and trying to organize. Allison and Morgan! Hey!!!!! Congrats on both of you getting back into the "school" of things! Sounds absolutely marvelous! Cole has started back to school as well and I cannot tell you how great it feels to see normalcy in the days recently gone by. I know that when you see Morgan interacting "normally" without reservations, your heart soars and it's just like a rebirth!! We have seen soooo many of God's miracles in you, ourselves and our other friends and we are sooooo thankful to be amongst you and hear all the great things that God has done through Morgan. You both are truly inspiring!!!! Cole will finish up his Accutane this round. He is in his 3rd day of it and has one vaccine under his belt....more to come! Praise God though....I can really deal with the "little stuff" a lot better, knowing that our battle is over and testing is merely the pathway for the doctors to physically see that a healing has actually happened!!! I guess we have just as much in common as the kids do. I too had a little cry session today. I was at the hopsital in line at the pharmacy trying to get our accutane. ( our page tells why trying was the key word there:)) Anyway, the lady behind me was just getting a prescription for her childs ear infection. THere is a pediatrician in our hospital, so there are lots of healthy kids there too. She was ticked that there was a line and she had to wait and she needed to get to work. I was like I would do anything to be standing here for a simple antibiotic and worrying about what to tell my boss about being so late to work. I got to the car and tears just started to fall from the frustration of the day and her comments. She will never know reall worries and for her sake I hope she doesn't, but it hurt all the same. I am still praying for great reults and I am so glad to hear the other tests were good. That is a good sign. I have never been on pins and needles like I am this time and I am sure you feel the same. Glad she had fun at school and I am sure she will love it on the longer days too.

Thank You for emailing the NW phone NO. Allison!! I will get right on that tomorrow morning and get that booked. I am so sorry to hear that Morgan ended up in the Hosp this weekend. I bet if you do call NY, one of the other Docs would be willing to give you the reports of the scans. We will be Praying very Hard for Morgan that this turns out to be Nothing. Carl has been complaining about walking around the last couple of days, he does fine outside playing, but then when he is walking somewhere with me, he whines that he wants to be carried. I have also heard that Accutane can cause leg and joint discomfort. I will ask our family and friends to keep Morgan in their Prayers too!!!

Hang in there, you have lots of support on the way!!!

Marty and Wallace Cole (our pastor) told us about Morgan when she first got sick, and has kept us up-to-date on her prognosis. I just wanted you to know that Morgan's name is on our prayer chain at First Church of the Brethren, and we pray for her always, as well as you, her parents. God is an awesome God, and will never leave you or forsake you. I pray that little Morgan will be healed. And, remember, that you have an army of Christian soldiers praying for Morgan. Wallace is my pastor and Marty is one of my best friends. I check with her several times a day to keep up to date on Morgan. She has become so close in my heart and in my prayers that I feel she is one of my own. Trust in God, He is still preforming miracles -- I am one! Even tho I am battling cancer again, "because He lives I can face tomorrow". That is my favorite song and please remember He does live and is there for you. God hears every prayer that is said for all of you and many are being said right now as we all continue to add your names to prayer chains. God Bless You.

When I worked with Jill Billings this summer, I heard about Morgan's illness. Now that I am back in college at UNC-Asheville, my 3 other suitemates and I have a "prayer board" where we place our prayer requests for everyone to see them in an effort to pray for each other whenever we have needs. I have put a request up for Morgan, so know that there are 4 of us here in Asheville praying for her, as well as the family. The safest place to be is in the center of God's will, so that is my prayer for you: that God's perfect will would be done in this situation. Stay strong and keep your trust in Him, because He promises to take care of us in any situation. God bless!

I know this all seems like a nightmare and sometimes you're bound to wonder "Why God"? And I believe it's alright to ask why... But just know that He has everything in control.
