I was blessed to experience Marcus' beautiful voice in church and school. He was always so special to our family when we attended Fridley Covenant and I remember my excitement when I found out he was going to be my 8th grade choir teacher. I will never forget his smile the first time I walked into his classroom. It was like walking into a family member's classroom!
Our prayers are with the entire Johnson family as we know that Marcus will be missed by all! He was greatly loved and admired. Now he joins others from the FCC family as they sing and rejoice in the presence of our Savior. The Heavenly Christmas Choir will be even more beautiful this year, with his voice of praise!

To my favorite Cousin Marc ~~I do like all my cousins however you are extra special & always have been~!! I remember way back when you & Paul Peter would be together .. graduated the same year..and of course the the girlfriends you had also. I remember all the good times we had at Julius & Sophia's house with gatherings of the Johnson's.!! All the Johnsonreunions when people came from all over. Those were special times .. even the North Dakota people came! Just 2 years ago we were in Hendricks for the Music concert you were in singing a SOLO.. "I will never forget the great times we have had together."
One of the best days of my life is when we were both in Hendricks ~~ (must have been for the Johnson reunion) You gave me the picture of Grandma(Beret)Grandpa(Peder)Johnson.
I can't "Thank You" enough~~You touched my heart & I Love you~~Your Cousin Ruthie

Dear Marc, It was just two months ago that the two of us were sharing conversation and waiting for others to show up at Applebees. How quickly things can change. Of course, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. BUT, I thought you could use an update: I just heard that Porter and Florence were on their way to take in the arts. You know, to take in Verdi at the theater in downtown Wilno. Another tidbit I found out is that Tyler and Russell were on their way to Ghent. They were running low on fuel so that had to stop at an Arco station. Silly Rabbits, they didn't even know you have to cross the Atlantic to get to Ghent! Latest breaking news: Hadley, Chandler, and Jasper were thinking about coming to see you . . . only they really couldn't figure out which plane to catch after they got to Delhi . . . such a trio!
Regardless, some times it is better to not dwell on what could be and concentrate on what Canby!
Looking forward to our next rendezvous!

P.S. I don't want to hear any of the "It only hurts when I laugh" stuff!

Mr. Johnson,
I was saddened to hear of your struggle with the "Big C". However, I am grateful that you are beating it and on the mend. I should not be suprised however, because a man with so much passion and a real zest for living life wouldn't go easy and I am sure that those around you are not suprised with you overcoming this challenge.
It's been nearly 30 years (30 YEARS!) since I sang with & for you in 9th grade choir at CRJH. I do have many fond memories of that class and the 7th grade class I had with you as well. I continue to sing...although it's mostly in my van. You would be happy to know that I have effectively trained my 9 year old son...I believe he knows the words to nearly every Beatles song and is not afraid to belt it out. Only the classics!
You are one of my more memorable teachers and I hope all continues to go as well as it appears!
With warmest regards,

Paul Guelle <paul.guelle@us.army.mil>

Marc,
While I was saddened to hear about your diagnosis when I got the news from Peggy, I am grateful to hear of the success of the treatment and that you are doing well! Tears welled as I read Eric's remarks, he and I talk about you often. He said what I feel better than I could. You made a difference and touched so many lives. I hope you continue to heal and improve and as Eric said, Marlyn sees you on the golf course soon!

Lynnese Paulson <Lynnese@comcast.net>

Marc--That is hard to say as you know when you are a child of school teachers you are taught to refer to other teachers as Mr., Mrs., or Ms. Peggy Guelle (My aunt) forwarded the website to me and I am so thankfull for that!

I hope and pray that you are doing well and that someday you will be back on the golf course where my dad says he has seen you a few times:)

I want to thank you for showing me the magic and wonder of discovering a gift given to me in voice!! I have thought of you often and remember quite well my days at CRJH choir. I must share with you a story. While I continued to sing and solo in choirs during my high school days I found myself short of "arts" credits while graduating at Lewis and Clark College in Portland Oregon. So, of course, I took a voice class. After the first lesson my voice coach asked what type of Opera career I was interested in and I had to admit that was not exactly what I had in mind!!

Thank you for being a wonderful teacher and showing not only me but many others what a great thing music can be!!

Marc,
I was at the CRMS web site to get the address to send Gary Delaitsch a retirement card and saw the info and link. I am so sorry to hear of your bout with cancer and am relieved to see encouraging news. I will let Paul (in Germany) and Ross (here in Phx) know about this, as well. Please know that all the Guelles are wishing you the best and praying for your full recovery!

Mr. Johnson-
I had you way back in 1988 for Mixed Choir Nine. I remember you as being jovial and I remember seeing you at Northtown Mall doing your mall walking thing. You looked so good. I found the link for your site on the CRMS home page and I had to forward it off to more of your other students from back then. I now have a daughter getting ready to start 6th grade in fall of 2004. Because I had such a positive experience with music (both band and choir), my daughter has decided to join band this year playing the flute. I hope that you are well and that everything goes as planned. From the looks of your guest book, I would say that you have a very supportive family and a lot of friends pulling for you. I can't wait to come back to this site and hear that you have gotten the all clear. My families prayers are with you and also with your family. Take care!!

Hi Marc,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! My kids asked me what I wanted for my birthday, which was last week, and I said that ignoring it might be good, then maybe it could slip by and I wouldn't get a year older. Then on second thought I guess it's always good to be grateful that another one can be celebrated.
I got the latest update on your "whereabouts" yesterday at the store from Olaf. I know you are making good progress and I hope to see you soon. Prayers are still coming your way.

I am pretty sure that I had you for Choir class when I was in 7th grade. (coon rapids junior high) at that time. I believe it would have been 1977-78. I am not even sure if you were a teacher for that - maybe I just think you were. My youngest daughter (Andrea) is in 8th grade at CRMS. I was checking into the school website and that is when I had come across your website. I will be praying for you and I hope that all goes well for you during your treatment process. And.... if you were my choir teacher - thank you for the A+ you gave me on my 7th grade solo!!!

It was great talking with you yesterday, Marc. You sounded really "spry." (Some years ago, someone said that about me. But, I think they meant "fat in the can!")
I sent this web site out to the membership of the ACS. You were referred to as our "noted tenor soloist." I have to believe that you'll get some good response. We've got some terrific prayer warriors in the ACS, and we're with you! Keep up the good work.
See you on Feb. 8th.

Hi Marc, Linda sent me your website and please know that you and all of your family have been in my thoughts and prayers. I have a little inspirational book that I try to read every day and one of my favorite entries in it is the following: "Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it can we see, hear, or feel it when it comes to us. It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity. Let's not be afraid to receive each day's surprise, whether it comes to us as a sorrow or as a joy". My surprise today was discovering that you had more photos on your website and seeing our precious Madelyn with you and her adorable cousins as well as the photos of you and Betty and the Mens'Choir. That small surprise was a great daybrightener for me as I felt that I also was sharing in some of the many things that bring you joy. It is amazing what comes to us daily if we just expect our little surprises:) I am so happy to be able to stay updated on your medical progress on this website. Keep up the great work. You have a wonderful attitude. Love from Fran Arzt Weier

Hey Kathi's Dad -- Mom forwarded this website to me which Pat B. forwarded to her. It's great to see you looking so good! I'll keep checking in to see how you are doing and I'll try to call Kathi, too. Don't worry too much about the hair loss -- just think of how sexy you'll be like Telly Savalas and all those young athletes and celebrities who purposely shave their head for that look. Kathi's Mom will be fighting off all the other women who are after you! Look out!!!! You're in our prayers.

Dear Marc: Glad to hear you are making good progress in your recovery. You are such an integral part of the fabric of the Minnesota choral "family". I have so enjoyed working (and laughing) with you over the years, and I am praying for your complete health, peace during your treatment, and comfort during this challenging time for you and your family. Just remember my horse story or the clown planter photo I sent you? Those will brighten your day! God bless you, friend!

Hey Marc, We are in the planning stages of the CRMS Faculty Talent Show. I'm throwing together the infamous male danceline and we should be ready to fumble unto the stage the day of the event. That day would be Friday Feb. 12 during the last three hours of the day. I hope that you can make it. It could be some pretty good therapy or it could make you sick to your stomach. If you do lose any of your hair, maybe it will grow back a different color. Seriously, take care and keep the head up! Kirk Enzenauer

Marc,
Keith Roberts here at CRMS gave me this web address. What a good idea! I looked to the picture of you and the grandkids. What treasures they are! Thought of you fondly today as we gear up for the staff talent show. I think they set the date of 2/13. I remember you singing from Gilbert & Sullivan. You are in my prayers and all the best with the treatments. Now that I have the address I'll check in often. Judy Palapala
