PLEASE READ

This site is about a boy, my nephew,14 year old Gabriel Xavier Ferguson.
He was a wonderful son, brother, nephew, grandson and friend.
His life ended after complications of something that was supposed to cure him of Leukemia (AML subtype M0).
We never thought he would die.
We never thought somethiing we were told could cure him would not.He was not supposed to die.He was supposed to grow up,get married and live happily everafter.

I am sure knowing Gabe that he is enjoying his life now but he would have also enjoyed finishing school, learning Japanese and being able to hug his Mom and sister.
Please read about his life and if you know anyone that is considering a cordblood transplant have them weigh the risks to the quality of life or death that it can bring. The last 4 months of Gabe's life were spent very sick in the hospital.
The transplant was a sucess but the aftermath caused to much destruction to his body and he left us on August 3rd 2002.
My journaling carries through the last months of his life, and through the grieving process we have endured. I hope you will take time to read and contact me if you want.
I want to thank Caringbridge for thier beautiful project that helps so many familes get through life good and bad.

Six years............. It seems like yesterday and I wonder where the years have gone. Gabriel,I still see you in my house,Mac remebers sword fighting with you,you had a golf club and he had a cheap plastic sword :) Logan remembers when Zach spent the summer here ,he remebers sword fighting too, the wind blew very strong for awhile yesterday and it made me think of you.
We are going to have a BBQ today,to celebrate the bittersweetness of your passing and your Dad's birthday.

I think of you often,

Love Auntie Vicki
