Mark's stem cells were frozen in six bags. Here is the

Mark's charge nurse is transfusing his stem cells via a syringe into his central line. Each of his six syringes contained about 265,000 stem cells with a volume of about 55ml. It took about 10 minutes to "push" each syringe. His R.N. stayed with him and recorded vital signs every few minutes.

Within 24 hours (Day 6 to Day 7), virtually all of Mark's hair fell out. When he couldn't stand the constant flood of hair in his eyes and mouth, I took him to the subway of Methodist Hospital for a haircut!
