Thinking of Carl. I"ll never forget where I was when I read the news of his entering heaven on Caringbridge. Maya was in the hospital at Mayo and in the same room Carl had been in that last admission they both had together... we'd been across the hall that time and the kids would play together on Maya's bed. Sweet memories of your little guy. Sending hugs to you.

Hi Kelly and Family,
Just checked myself to see if you added school pics yet, thank you! Kids grow up too fast! I know exactly what you're going through with the "mom" perspective. I'm still telling myself that someday my kids will also realize we do things because we love them! Those fall pics bring back so many memories, one of my favorite pictures of Carl is with the pumpkin in his little jean shirt :) We think of you often. Take care and let us know if you're ever going to be in Rochester. Hugs to all of you!!

Hello Robinson's--

I was cleaning Eric's room today and had thoughts of Carl as I found Eric's big stuffed Shrek doll that he has that is his remebrance of Carl--sitting on the side of his bed on the floor. So I thought I would open up the Caring bridge site and see how you all are. We are good here. Getting ready for Eric to graduate--I can't believe it.

Hi Robinson's...Thanks for the update. Such a special picture of you and Carl. What a precious video of Cara's recital. What a hoot is right, she's sooo adorable! What a great invention Sam came up with for Cara to ride in :) And how awesome that Carl continues to let you know he's watching over all of you. Take care and have a great summer.

I am looking at that photo of that little bald head and a flood of emotions washed over me. I can hear the little knock on the door and see that big heavy door slowly open and Carl asking where Drew is..They always could find fun, whether it was tormenting Paula, running the halls or just sitting in front of the fridge waiting for something good to magically appear.. Those were precious times..Miss you and love you, Deb

Hi Robinson Family:

I just wanted you to know that I continue to check your site for updates, and I keep you in my thoughts and prayers for continued healing. I miss your lil "ball of fire" Carcar, but it is so fun to see Cara now who resembles him so much, and hear the comments she makes about Carl. I will always remember you guys and all the love you have to share. I really cherish the picture I have of Carl, and the short time I spent visiting you that day. I hope you have a peaceful Holiday season.

Hi Robinson Family,
We think of your family so often and talk about memories of that sweet little Carl. I watched the video clip and you are right those are precious memories. I had tears just a rollin by the end. I remember so many of those pictures from when you first posted them. Wasn't sure if Megan told you we chatted with Roy (from Baker's Square) a few weeks ago. He is managing a Panera in Roch and seems to be doing well. Thinking of you and thanking you for so many precious memories.

Wow it has been a long time since I have been on any pages. I was just going through some pictures and came across some of our kids back at the RMH. Carl is such a cutie. I imagine him looking down on us with a big twinkle in his eyes. Always know that we think of Carl and ofen wonder about seeing all of our old friends from our home in Rochester. Zane says hi to all.

Just wanted to take a minute to sign in and let you know how often I think of you and Carl. I was just telling one of Maya's nurses the other night about how Carl and Maya would sit in bed and play while the doctor's stood around and did rounds around the bed. Still remember his tearing into her room on his bike seeing if she was up for the morning and ready to play.

I'm going to admit, this is the first time in a little over a year that I've visited any caringbridge pages. The instant I clicked and saw Carl's sweet sweet litle face shining on the main page, I teared up a bit. I'm sorry I haven't been in touch because I do think of you guys often. I was just talking of Carl to my boyfriend yesterday.
Cara is beautiful, as are the rest of the kids, all so grown up looking now! It feels like just last week we were all at the Donald House but at the same time it feels like forever ago! I hope all of you are doing well.
Just wanted you to know I was thinking of you guys!

Third grade, my goodness.. Time is a wonderous thing, Andrew would have turned 20 on the day of the cruise. What happened to that world? It seems so far away and yet like yesterday. There is not yet a day that goes by that I don't think of our guys and their smiles. Every situation that they found themselves in and the joy that they created. The mischief that they caused, everyone wondering what they would be up to next. Poor Paula. It brings a tear and a smile at the same time. We were so blessed to be a part of their special lives.

Hi Robinson's!
What an adorable picture of Cara! She's getting so big :) Megan said she got to see her on Saturday. I talked to Megan this morning and it sounds like camp is going great. I bet the little bald guy Sydney talked about is Jackson Schneider who is from Plainview and has neuroblastoma. Megan has his sister in her cabin and we live a couple houses from his grandparents. I saw this poem and thought of you. Much love today on Mother's Day!

Dandelions from Heaven
Mothers day is coming And I wanted to send you a sign
something you can tell others; "Is from an angel of mine"
So I searched the heavens high and low for that perfect thing....
And low and behold I found it.... And a smile I hope it will bring.

So when you look to the heavens and see the yellow stars in the sky
Just think of me .... your angel... in the heavens way up high
And just imagine those stars; are dandelions up above.
Yes! Dandelions are also in heaven; which you know how much I love.

So on this mothers day and you awake and feel blue....
You will notice those yellow stars... are no longer in view.
So look to the meadows and the dandelions you see...
Are the ones I've tossed down this mothers day from me.

And when you find a dandelion that has turned from yellow to white;
Youre supposed to make a wish and then blow with all your might.
For you will be blowing kisses to me in heaven above....
And I will be catching them and blowing them back sent with all my love.

Please know that l am with you.... on this mothers day....
And also in the days ahead.... God and I will never stray.
We will be with you in the morning ....when you awake and see the sun....
We will be with you when you say your prayers when the day is done.

For God and I will never be very far from your side....
For I can now be everywhere.... and God will be your guide.
So.... remember when you see dandelions it is your guarantee
That I am always close to you.... for dandelions are free to roam ....now just like me.

I will always be with you mummy....
Happy Mothers Day....
Love your angel in heaven.

WOW--poor little Cara and family. I remember when our Tommy had his first seizure and how scary it was and then he was very typical and had another within 6 months of the first one. I read later that most children with febrile seizure will have another within 6 months. Well, that was it for us, so I'm praying that this is it for little Cara also. I hope you still have the medication on hand just in case, it sounds like it worked well for little Cara. Sounds like the poor little thing has it all cold, v/d, ear infection--WOW again. Take Care and we are praying for you Cara and your wonderful Mom and Dad (& brother and sister too). God's Blessings!!

Hi Kelly! We are inpatient at St Mary's...Jacob had surgery on his spine and then a collapsed lung, pneumonia following, but ANYWAY.....I saw a child riding a tractor down the hall and around and around the playroom, and it hit me because for that split second, I could just picture Carl riding it...he is still here in so many ways Kelly, just wanted you to know that. HI Kelly and family. I just watched that last little bit you had with the song Friends forver. When my kids graduated from HS they sang that song to eachother. It is definetly a song that reminds of how fast our life is going. I don't even know you personally but enjoy watching them grow up. Hello Robinson family-
So tonight I was informed by Jesanna that she saw Roy.. (my old manager from Bakers Square that gave Carl the shrek stuff).. anyways he asked her if you guys still had the shrek he gave Carl..
It just brought back a million memories of Carl slapping my butt and hiding underneath the table at Bakers Square yelling Roy you can't find me. Or of him spitting in my french fries! Or pulling my pony tail holder out of my hair.. I can't believe how long thats been.. it seems like last week!!!
Hope everything is going great!

Robinsons - Oh what a scare with baby Cara but remember she is you angel sent from above and from Carl and they are watching over her - she may have some bumps in live but she will be ok she has angel wing, and a family that no other family could outmatch for support and prayers and comfort and everything else you are all made of. I sat here reading you journal just letting tears go cuz I too wonder why - how many things does one person or family have to go through - the only answer I come up with is the ones who's faith is strong - the ones who love the lord and who know the lord with put his healing hand on cara and the right meds and signs will be there for those fevers we other mothers think of as minor but aren't in your family. We love you and pray she is her bouncy self soon. I have had something for her since I moved and I will call you soon Kelly and try and get it to her.

Cara,

We just looked at your pictures on the web site and you look so beautiful. Mommy told us that you have been sick and we are worried about you. We said an extra special prayer at bedtime for baby Cara to feel better soon. We miss you and want you to come home soon. We asked Mommy if we could come and take a nap with Cara but she said we had to wait until you came home. We told mom that we want to bring Cara an ice cream treat cuz that would make her better. Kaylee said she can even take her a flower and a new pink shirt. Hugs and prayers to you from all of us here. We love you!! Kaylee and Kody (Matt and Mandi too!!)

Hi...

I tried calling you when I was on my lunch break. I figured you wouldn't be able to answer, but just thought I would take a chance! But luckily I thought to myself...hmmm I wonder if Kelly updated on Carl's site and sure enough you did! I have been worried sick...and cried when I read your entry. I am praying that everything is ok...and that all the test results are coming back the way we want them. When we were at Matt's and got the word that she had a seizure, I prayed to God and Grandma, Grandpa, and Carl that they would be with you and Cara and make sure she got through all of this ok! (now I am crying again just remembering that moment and sick feeling in my stomach---and I am sure everyone else felt that way or worse).

Hopefully I will get an update tonight through the Robinson grapevine.

Love you lots!

Thank you so much for the update. I've been thinking of you non-stop since the ambulance call for a 1 yr old girl having a seizure, family bringing her in in private vehicle, and turning off of Co. Rd 2 to Hwy 71. I knew it had to be Cara. I have been praying, and praying for your family. Last night I was talking about it with Jeff and Jonathan said Robinsons, do they have a boy named Sam? It was so cute. Our oldest son had febrile seizure so I know how scary they can be, but with all your family has been through it is way more scary for you than anything I could imagine. Take care of each other and we are hoping all the tests come back good and you get some answers why this happened to Cara. God's Blessings!! We have you in our prayers.

Dandelions From Heaven
Mothers Day is coming...and I wanted to send you a sign...
Something you can tell others..."Is from an angel of mine".
So I searched the Heavens high and low for that perfect thing..
And low and behold I found it....and a smile I hope it will bring.

So when you look to the Heavens...and see the yellow stars in the sky...
Just think of me...your angel... in the Heavens way up high...
And just imagine those stars...are dandelions up above...
Yes! Dandelions are also in Heaven...,which you know how much I love.

So on this Mothers Day... when you awake and feel blue...
You will notice those yellow stars...are no longer in view...
So just look to the meadows and the dandelions you see....
Are the ones I've tossed down this Mothers Day from me!

And when you find a dandelion that has turned from yellow to white...
You're supposed to make a wish...and then blow with all your might.
For you will be blowing kisses... to me in Heaven above....
And I will be catching them and blowing them back...sent with all my love.

Please know that I am with you...on this Mothers Day...
And also in the days ahead...God and I will never stray...
We will be with you in the morning...when you wake and see the sun..
We will be with you when you say your prayers...when the day is done.

For God and I will never be...very far from your side...
For I can now be everywhere.. .and God will be your guide...
So...remember when you see dandelions.. .its your guarantee...
That I am alway close to you....
For dandelions are free to roam.....now just like me.

I found this and I thought it was perfect!

Magical

Gender- Masculine
Planet- Jupiter

I loved the story about the dandilions!!! And I love that picture of Carl holding those 2 dandilions. I actually have a little story about dandilions myself.. I work with an autistic 9 year old. And yesterday we were on a walk... while on the walk he became obsessed with finding dandilions. Since the weather has been sorta cold there are not very many dandilions around. In fact we only found one yard on the entire walk that had them. But of course we found the yard.. and the boy continually wanted to pick every single dandilion. It was very difficult to get him home! It just reminded me of Carl..
Hope all is going great!!!

Dear Kelly and Tom
Today I sit here and find I have tears streaming down my checks unendlessly...why? because someone felt the need to write me a letter and tell me to put my son's Christmas stocking away and "move on"... I am saddened that someone who has not experienced the loss of a child can be so hurtful, I am certain that she felt she was "helping Me" by telling me several times in her letter to "move on" and to let my children move on and to not share my memories...I do know that there are others who feel this way, I pray they never have to experience the loss of their own child...

I will be strong and speak out, I will move on in my own time, and until you have walked in my shoes, please do not tell me what I should do... I share this because I want families to know that it is okay to do whatever your heart tells you is right for you, keep your traditions, talk about your loved one, hang his Christmas stocking and pray for the ones who do not understand, God does have a plan for each of us, but we are the weak ones and need support from family and friends to get thru the hard times, we will do God's will...

thank you Kelly for posting my letter "A Cloud of Sadness" on your site, it reassured me that I am okay and that we are on the road to healing together...your family has been a God-send to us and many others and we thank Him daily...

Life is not always easy, but with family and friends who accept us for who we are we can "move on"...

God bless us all.

Dear Mr. Hallmark,

I am writing to you from heaven, and though it must appear,
A rather strange idea, I see everything from here,
I just popped in to visit, your stores to find a card,
A card of love for my parents, as this day for them is hard,
There must be some mistake I thought, every card you can imagine,
except I could not find a card, from a child that lives in heaven,
they are still a parent too, no matter where I reside,
I had to leave, they understand, but oh the tears they cried,
I thought that if I wrote to you, that you would come to know,
that though I live in heaven now, I still love my parents so,
they talk with me, and dreams with me, we still share laughter too,
memories are our way of speaking now, would you see what you can do?
my parents carry me in their heart, their tears they hide from sight,
they plants flowers in my garden, there my living memory dwells,
they writes to other grieving parents, trying to ease there pain as well,
so you see Mr. Hallmark, though I no longer live on earth,
I must find a way, to remind her of her wondrous worth,
they need to be honored, and be remembered too,
just as the children of the earth will do,
thank you Mr. Hallmark, I know you will do your best,
find a way to tell them, how much they mean to me,
until I can do it for myself, when she joins me in eternity.

I know Christmas must be so hard for you although I can't comprehend how difficult it must be.

All my love,

Viks

Hi to all !!!! The Hauck Families would like to Thank the Robinson Families for the Beautiful arrangement that you sent to Stephen’s Funeral with 2 white doves & Nephew & Cousins ribbons on it. We Love & Miss You All !!!!
The pic of Stephen, Lindsey, Tom & Carl was taken on Nov. 9, 2003 ( it was Chris’s Birthday ). Stephen’s daughters Heidi & Lindsey were making a poster with pics of Stephen, as we were looking through the pics, ( someone was on the computer ) I looked up & there it was, the pic Lindsey & I sent to you. I can’t tell you how I felt seeing it …. that morning when Keith & Chris went to breakfast, I stayed at the hotel & tried to call you & sat there thinking about that day & wished we had a pic of them together. I also wanted to mention ( I noticed, seeing the pic larger ) on the wall, above Tom is a pic of Stephen’s other 2 children, Ryan & Heidi when they were younger. Ryan & his wife Robyn are both teachers & are expecting their 1st child in Jan.. Heidi graduated from College in May & is a nurse. Lindsey will be 15 in Oct., does well in school & LOVES to dance. Dana’s son Anthony became a Daddy a month ago. Stephen was ( & always will be ) soooo Proud of all the kids & was looking forward to being a Grandpa.
I just noticed this morning, it looks like an orb by Tom’s elbow !!!!
Thanks soooo much for all the pics of the kids on Carl‘s site!!!! I love watching the kids growing up, hearing about their hard work or the fun they’re having. Speaking of hard work & fun …. Congrats to all the kids for all they did to get to ( & participate in ) the county fair !!!! AND a Special Congrats to Sydney for winning a trip to the State Fair & being Awarded a Red Ribbon !!!! We are SOOOO PROUD of ALL of you !!!!
WOW !!!! That IS a huge orb in the pic of Sydney walking “Betty“. It’s amazing !!!! The other pic with Sydney ( judges in background ), it looks like an orb near her elbow.
Well, I better scoot, Thanks again to all. Miss you !!!!
Love & Hugs,

Ann <akhauck@optonline.net>

Hi Robinson's
I've been following little Christi Thomas's blog and have been stormin Heaven with prayers for her! I can just imagine little Carl on his 1st day of 1st grade!
Megan and I took a trip out to Washington DC to see her boyfriend in August and we had enough time to go to "Ground Zero"! It was a great experience but hard to imagine that day on 9/11. We were there at the WTC on 8/29, then I went to see the movie on Sunday 9/3.
Baby Cara is beautiful! What awesome pictures!!

Anna and I are soooooooooooo happy for you and your family! What a wonderful gift-a baby girl! So glad she is healthy with chubby cheeks! Anna spoke at the Kids Cure Walk in Central Park on Sat. All the profits go to NB reasearch at Sloan. Kushner,Kramer and some other docs were there and they all walked(4.5 miles) and talked with Anna. In her speech, Anna told everyone about her friend Carl, whom she considered one of her best friends at that time, and how they would crawl in bed together and the nurses would have to untangle their IV tubes at Sloan. Anna loves giving all NB children a voice-people mentioned how moving the story of little Carl was. (Hope that was alright to mention his name! Anna never thought to ask your permission first!) LETTING YOU KNOW THAT YOUR THOUGHT OF ON MOTHER'S DAY.KEEPING YOU IN MY THOUGHTS AND IN MY PRAYER'S ALWAYS.

A Mother's Day Wish From Heaven

Dear Mr. Hallmark,

I am writing to you from heaven, and though it must appear
A rather strange idea, I see everything from here.
I just popped in to visit, your stores to find a card
A card of love for my mother, as this day for her is hard.

There must be some mistake I thought, every card you could imagine
Except I could not find a card, from a child who lives in heaven.
She is still a mother too, no matter where I reside
I had to leave, she understands, but oh the tears she’s cried.

I thought that if I wrote you, that you would come to know
That though I live in heaven now, I still love my mother so.
She talks with me, and dreams with me; we still share laughter too,
Memories our way of speaking now, would you see what you could do?

My mother carries me in her heart, her tears she hides from sight.
She writes poems to honor me, sometimes far into the night
She plants flowers in my garden, there my living memory dwells
She writes to other grieving parents, trying to ease their pain as well.

So you see Mr. Hallmark, though I no longer live on earth
I must find a way, to remind her of her wondrous worth
She needs to be honored, and remembered too
Just as the children of earth will do.

Thank you Mr. Hallmark, I know you’ll do your best
I have done all I can do; to you I’ll leave the rest.
Find a way to tell her, how much she means to me
Until I can do it for myself, when she joins me in eternity.

Isn't that just like her? :) On the way back we passed a field FULL of dandylions, Drews eyes filled and he said "there's Carls Mom's flowers". He misses him so much, as we all do.Isn't it amazing tho, how God gives us sweet reminders, simple little weeds to bring back such sweet memories... Thinking of you all with love, deb

Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures! Mandi and Matt's babies are just beautiful. You can see how happy they are too. And your family picture is just wonderful. Talk about people having that healthy pregnat glow! All day long I thought about Carl and how lucky we all are that Jesus died so that we might live. Someday that kid will be there to greet you and he will probably have a fist full of orange balloons in one hand and a fist full of dandilions in the other. Take care and we should probably know the exact days to start counting down!

Hi Kelly,
It has been so long since I have found myself looking at some of our fellow NB friends. I was just stopping by to see how you all were doing. I am so happy to hear that you are expecting another baby. Babies just make everything seem so serene..at least when they are not crying. We too welcomed a new addition to our family last May. We now have Ethan to join in all the fun with Payton and Madison. Life is good! I know you are missing Carl and please know that while I may not "visit" often I do think of you and I am wishing you all warmth and happiness with this new member of the family. I am sure Carl is looking over his family and smiling.

I ran up to Bird Island yesterday afternoon for my Migrant School interview. I was going to stop on the way home. My interview was at 3 and I didn't leave there until 7:30. New director, lots to talk about. So I didn't stop, but I was thinking of you. I need to see Mamasita's big belly. Time is running out. One of my kids gave me a dandilion the other day after recess, made me think of you.

Dear Kelly and Tom,

I just read Bryans article! WoW! You have to be so proud of him! It gave me goosebumps!

I am so proud of Sam too!! We are big hockey lovers too and all three kids really have enjoyed fun hockey careers , and as parents, there is nothing more fun than cheering for them in the stands.

So glad to read things are great! We are excited to hear about the bundle of joy coming soon!

The stand is all OK'ed and moving forward at the Mall or America. I am hoping...and praying to somehow get American Idol "Paris Bennett"to Mpls for the stand! She was in Billy's class in high school up until last year. Their big graduation is the night after the stand....so maybe there is a way to get her here! The Mll is trying to help too! Bigger and more money we will raise in 2006....

Love to you all! Orange rules Carl!!
love the Hollways!!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

May the Grass be soft as heather
as it sways beneath your feet
May smiles so bright and so cheerful
light up every face that you meet...

May your heart be ever hopeful,
and filled with glad songs to be sung,
And may the years always be kindly
to keep you forever young!

May the Luck of the Irish be with you...always, forever and a day!

Love to you all! Angela

Dearest Carl - Just wanted to share a very special memory I have of you in the playroom at Sloan. You were with a very special relative - I think an aunt (Pretty lady with blonde hair) and I sat mesmorized by the special bond you two shared. You were so intent on playing with the barn animals and you two shared some very special giggles. I'll never forget literally "seeing" the love shared between the two of you! You're so special and I am so blessed to have met you. You're forever in my heart, Angela

Hello, Robinson family. I came across your website through another individual's caringbridge website. You don't know me, but I am actually from Franklin as well. I grew up on a farm on Hwy. 19 just between Fairfax and Franklin. I had bone cancer when I was 13 years old and was also treated at Mayo. In fact, I am now working at Mayo. Please feel free to look me up whenever you are in town as it would be a pleasure to meet you. Your website has made an immense impression on me and I wish you much joy and love in 2006.
