Andrew, As I sit here tonight thinking how hard I am working ( but knowing that there are many others working harder than I ), my thoughts drifted to you and how hard you continue to work so that you can achieve the goals before you. I receive inspiration from reading about your progress and persistence. May the Lord hold you in his hands and bless you every step of the way on your journey.

Your courage is an inspiration. I cannot imagine the hard work and effort you have to put forth every day. I have a friend (older lady) who goes to the CC and thinks she has seen you in the pool. You and your family continue to be in our Prayers.

I do not know you personally, but as an employee of Premier Pontoons, I work closely with your dad and the quality people at Willey's Marine. I just wanted you to know that everyone here at Premier wishes you all of the best. I accidently stumbled onto this site today, after checking the website for directions to the their shop. It's great to be able to monitor how you're doing on a regular basis, rather than only being able to ask your dad occasionally. After reading some of your dad's entrys in his journal today, I was inspired by your courage, and especially your determination to do things like hunt, ski, etc. Keep up the fight. It sure seems like you have quite the support group behind you - don't underestimate the power of the human spirit. Best wishes on your recovery - don't forget that miracles happen every day!

Hi Streeter family,

Another holiday season that we know is going to fly by. While we are flying, we need to take moments to stop and enjoy the blessings we have been given. It was just a few weeks ago that we were having dinner at the lodge and who should enter but Andy and his friends. How wonderful to see tham all having a great hunting weekend and Darla was able to get a couple hugs from them to boot. Every day I am reminded of out precious lives. Today, one of the seniors played Santa with the costume and everything, he doesn't walk anymore and came wheeling down the hall in his scooter. He was beaming from ear to ear. His wife was following close behind as to direct him(tell him what to do). All the kids were so happy to see him and I must say I know he enjoyed all the attention. We must remember to as they say "pay it forward" help those who need it, and take help when we need it. Many Blessings to you all and Happy Holidays. We hope to see you over New Year's.

Hi Andy, I hope you have a great time hunting. I got out with my group over the weekend and our luck was limited as to getting deer, but then I'm not sure that is the main reason we hunt. The time with family is very special and hunting is probably the excuse we use to spend time together and talk smart. We did shoot a "piebald" deer which is something altogether different. A small deer but kind of interesting. It was wounded so we thought we needed to harvest it, but it would have been fun to watch it grow also. Take care and keep striving toward your goals.

just checking in on you. Very exciting to hear you're starting college! It's also exciting to hear about your upcoming deer hunting season -- hope you are lucky and get "the big one". Joey and I both signed your guest book months ago. We are the family that has a cabin on Little Ball Bluff. Joey's injury (a C 5-6) is now 5 years old (August 3) and he is doing so well I wanted to pass along a couple of items to you. Andrew and Joey seems to have such similar tastes -- fishing, fantasy football -- Anyway, we found an item for Joey that works perfectly for fishing. It is called a strong arm. You insert an open face in there and he can catch a ton a fish -- that is if they are biting. It is available through a catalog called Accessible Adventures. There are lots of other fun toys in there, too.
About college -- Joey just graduated from Augsburg. It is a very accessible campus with every building having an elevator. It is also totally wheelchair and weather friendly with all buildings connected by skyway or tunnel. If Andrew is interested, Joey would be happy to show him around the campus. If you have questions, please feel free to write. They know Joey at Courage. He spent a year there after his 5 month hospital stay. We wish you well.
Thank you for keeping us informed on the latest therapies and advancements in spinal cord injuries.

I golf there on Wed. nights and stopped in for a burger and a beer when we finished golfing. Blake was there and said you were downstairs. So sorry to have missed you - wish we would have known you were there. Looked like there was a great turnout, we had to waite for carts and there were still people playing when we started at 5:30. Keep up the hard work. You all continue to be in our prayers. Take care, Sharon

Hello Andy & Streeter family!
Just wanted to drop a quick hello from the Albany gang! We think of and pray for you everyday Andy. Keep up the hard work. This past year has certainly been a challenge, but you have faced it head on and with so much bravery! ONe of these days we will have to get down to see you. We were going to stop by a few week ends ago, but remembered that you weren't going to be there from the updates. So one of these days we will make it. Take Care & God Bless You All!

Hi Streeter Family,
Glad you enjoyed Nashville. We just got back from Park City, Utah where we spent time with Brian's family for a family reunion. He has family that live in Nashville and they were at the reunion. Very beautiful country! We were excited to read of Andy's continued progress and of the exploring of the new medical procedures. May God guide you in all these decisions! Have a great day.

Hello Andy & Todd - It's been almost a year since we met at Sister Kenny. It's good to hear you're making progress. My Todd has also made good progress, he now spends about 3/4 of the time out of his wheelchair and can take 5 -6 steps on his own. He uses uses either his crutches or a cane to get around. He's still in a lot of PT at a branch of SKI in the northern suburbs. We're still very hopefull he'll completely loose the wheelchair. I wanted to let you guys know about a very successful proceedure being done in Portugal. There's a write up about it on www.stemnews.com. Andy would be a very good candidate for it. I was also talking with someone at church who is a para and they believe it's very promising.

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I wrote. We did move to our new house but are surely not settled yet (it will take a while!). The weather is starting to get nice finally and we've had a break from the rain. I guess the rain isn't so bad when I think about the earthquakes in California. I don't think I would do so well with that. We are excited to hear of the progress you continue to make,Andy, and not surprised because it's obvious you work hard and are determined. Great qualities. We continue to pray for you and hope to see you this summer. Have a great day!

Cedar, MN USA - Friday, June 17, 2005 7:16 AM CDT
Today while in church we had an earthquake. It was probably centered about 60 miles southeast and a 5.6er. At first I thought someone quite large was walking by. The paster, assistant, and the congregation just kept on singing. Then a second jolt hit. We still kept on with the service. At the start of the sermon the pastor recalled being at a synod conference. A clergy from Kansas was speaking when an earthquake hit. He questioned what's happening. When told it's an earthquake he asked what should we do. Just wait a few moments he was told. Such is the attitude of Californians. We are so used to these little earthquakes that we make no moves toward an exit. Look out when the big one hits. Like other Californians I don't make any moves toward an exit but I am far from unaffected. Earthquakes creep me out. They send shivers up and down my body. So Andrew, Todd, Bev, Mom, Dad, all you Minnesotans and anyone else checking in---How was your morning?? Thinking of you all. Lots of love your way. Take care!

You have probably already heard of it but there is an article on some kind of machine that helps you walk if you are paralyzed. Just in case you want to check it out, it is at www.wdio.com and then click on the good morning show (or what ever they call it). The article is titled something along the line of "paralyzed man walks again." Anyway, just thought that i would say hi. Take care, love, annie and tony

How's it going down at the CC? Great I hope! That's awesome that you're getting your pants on pretty much by yourself and that you're getting in and out of your wheelchair!! That's sweet! Keep it up . . . and keep working out, building up those pipes, huh?? haha I need to work out, I haven't for a while now. Well we are coming to see you within the next month for sure! Can't wait, until then, stay strong and keep working at it!!

Andy, It's been a while since I wrote you, but that does not mean that we have forgotten you. The annual McGregor Lion's Academic/Athetic banquet is coming up and we often have a former student as our keynote speaker. One of these days that might be you. I have been a motivational speaker for many years, but I have never had to overcome tough times like you have. Your hard work motivates me and many of us. Take online courses. You'll never regret it. I am a high school dropout with a Master's degree. You can do it!! See if you can take a public speaking course on line. That may be an oxymoron. But you have a great story and could help many people if you would hone your speaking skills. Good luck and keep working hard. Remember "No pain - no gain!" Love, Bob Fjerstad

Hi Andrew,Todd,Bev,Stacy and everyone else. Just thought I'd share a funny story. Was out walking the dogs while wearing my favorite sweatshirt-it's hooded with the handwarmer pocket in front-says McGregor, MN on it and was bought in McGregor,MN at Willey's Sport Shop. Being the responsible dog walker I am I always carry a couple sandwich baggies and then a larger gallon size plastic bag. If my little puggies happen to 'do the dew', the doggie doo, I find that picking it up into the sandwich baggie and then depositing the sandwich baggie into the gallon baggie allows us to enjoy the rest of the walk without any poo smell. In fact it's so safely tucked away that I just tuck the poo in baggies into my handwarmer pocket. Now I don't have to show anyone I happen to run into what my dogs just did. THE FUNNY THING IS and this is the funny part I forgot I'd put the doggie doo in my handwarmer pocket. I came home. I fixed dinner-still had my sweatshirt and the doo on. Occasionally I'd smell something but couldn't seem to figure out what it was. Ate dinner. Eventually sat down to watch a movie. Looked around the couch several times tryin to figure out where that occasional smell was coming from(my pugs still have accidents). Finally I pulled the rabbit out the hat so to speak. That happened several weeks ago but I still laugh when I think about it. Hope it made you chuckle a little. Laughter is some good medicine. Have a great day or night or whatever. Love you all and take care!!!

I'm still praying for you every night and hoping that I can see you up north a few times this summer, that would be pretty sweet!! Keep it up Andy because you are doing an awesome job! XOXO

Good morning to you all!! It was a beautiful weekend here. Cameron cleaned the garage so we made the effort to put the boat in the water and take him wakeboarding. We were off the water by 9:30am and good thing as it was getting soooooo busy. Everyone had the same idea to get on the lake after a long winter and spring. Today it is cool, cloudy, and looks like rain again. Unreal! Take care and we love you. Keep at it Andy!

Haha!! Do you remember that?? That was hilarious. I miss seeing you Andy!! So it's 2 in the morning and I'm tired, but I wanted to write to you and my friend Mal in her guestbook. Mal moved on Friday from HCMC to Gillete Children's Hospital. She's now in physical therapy and learning how to talk with her trach tube in right now. It's exciting. I want to know how you have been doing lately!! I haven't heard in a while. But I hope that you are doing fine and I wish that I could come and visit you sometime soon, probably after softball gets done. I also want to see your latest update on your wheelchair, it's probably a different chair since the last time we saw you, hopefully it moves faster and has better handling than the other one!! Haha!! But take care and I'm still praying for you buddy!! Much Love XOXO

Andy,
Hey there buddy!! It's Janna Jezierski!! I'm so sorry that I haven't written on here since like August/September.
WOW!! Someone told us that your website thing was ending soon. But anyways, I hope that you are continually improving everyday, because I know that you have a lot since the day it happened. A few weeks ago my good friend Mallory got in a car accident and was in a coma for two weeks. She's still in the hospital, but she has improved a lot too. When her accident happened, I thought of you and have been thinking about you ever since. I feel bad for not writing. I'm sorry!! But I have been hoping to see you sometime soon. I've been pretty busy with softball and work right now, but this summer should be a lot calmer. I can't wait to see you bud and I will continue to pray for you everyday. You are always thought about!! I love you bud!

Hello, Andy
Your smiling face sure brightened up the church Easter Sunday, I've been meaning to write to tell you so. Time does get away from me. Spring does seem to be here at last, it's good to see the lake open, except for a few bits of ice the wind has left on our shoreline. We always look forward to seeing the waterfowl return, they don't waste any time once the ice goes. I'll bet you enjoy getting outside in the sunshine now that it's warming up. We rejoice as you experience new bits of sensation in your foot - wonderful news! Keep up the good work, and know that even though I don't write often you're still in our thoughts and prayers. We Senior Citizens travel in the slow lane, you know - not a whole lot of excitement here to write about!

Take care,

Happy Easter to all! It was a beautiful Easter in California. Vince and I went to the beach for some rollerskating and bike riding. We saw about 8 dolphins frolicking in the waves and body surfing. The weather could not have been better. After a couple hours we returned home and took the family out for our traditional Easter dinner at Hometown Buffet. It was a good time. Happy Birthday Andrew! I knew the day was sometime in February the latter part but like I said on the phone message I left I wasn't sure. Thanks to Barb I think I figured it out. Might as well use this space to say Happy 50th to my brother since I can never seem to find him or talk to him when I call. P.S. Mom had to tell me what day yours was. Again, I know approximately but not exact. Oh, and thanks be I don't know what the age is (I do approximately) so that will get left out but Happy Birthday to Bev! Stacy actually received a birthday present early via Andrew's benefit auction. Thinking about all of you as always and wishing I could just pop on by to help celebrate whenever that gets accomplished. I understand it is just a little bit busy around there this time of year. We are doing great in our monsoon rains. Vince has started to build an Ark. He told a friend we have two pugs but they are fixed and can't reproduce so he'll have to throw them overboard. He always threatens to get rid of them because they are so naughty and untrainable. He doesn't like to let on he loves them just as much as the rest of us. I have to actually go stand out in the rain with them-walk around the yard or they will not go out and do their thing. I can't say I blame them. I would not like it much having to wake up and go out in a pouring rain to do my thing either. Bubbles is sitting on the couch snorting and staring out the window at the rain. Wonder what she is thinking. Had a hummingbird wait for me to make more syrup this morning. Vince went and got the feeder and the bird almost landed on him. Then it flew under our palapa for about 4-5 minutes while I made the syrup. They haven't left the area this year. Soon as the feeder was back out the bird landed and drank. Made it nice and warm for it too-like drinking a hot apple cider. Our hills are alive-have been for about a month now with flowers. It is the pretty time of year before the sun scorches them and they turn brown. The wisteria is starting to bud out with leaves. Can't wait for the blooms-maybe another month. For each inch of rain we get the lake rises by a foot. We've got about 2-3 more feet before it overflows which is excellent. Well, I am rambling. Take care and love you all!!!

Andy and Todd, It was great to run into you at the T-Wolves game. It was too bad that they came out losing in overtime. I was truly impressed by how great Andy seemed and enjoyed our discussion. I will try to stop by some evening when I am working in Minneapolis. Take care and keep up the hard work

Hello Streeters!
Thanks for the update. I'll pass it along to our non internet family members as always. Sounds like things are on an up swing, ever so slowly but upward at least. We will continue to pray as always. As for the chicken, well that seams to be the going food choice all over. Stacy had it twice a day almost everyday during Basic Training. She said if the Air Force could dream up a way to serve it with breakfast they probably would! So Andy don't feel alone in the chicken department!
Lots of Love & Prayers as always,
Debbie, Larry, Nick & Stacy

Dear Andrew and Todd, Bev, and Stacy,
Good morning!! The morning coffee gets made, the internet gets turned on, and I sign in to check what's been happening in your world. That's my typical morning routine. Daily routine with good things continuing to happen on your side of the world!!! Don't let your daily routine become routine. Easier said than done I suspect. Keep at each therapy like it was the first time you ever did it. Imagine the ways the therapy is benefiting your body. Elite athletes get up each day many times before dawn to do the same thing day after day. Work on that serve, practice that golf swing, conditioning, weight training. Continue to be passionate about your therapies as you strive for that ultimate goal. It will pay off! There are so many people praying for you even if we don't always let you know we are out there. It's been a long time. Take care and we love you!

Hello to all the Streeters! Even though its been awhile since I've last written, I hope you guys know that you are in my thoughts and prayers all the time. Sounds like a little progress is made each day Andy and that is because of your positive attitude and all the people praying for you. Keep it up on your end and we'll do the same here. I have a nephew on caring bridge also, his name is Parker and that's what its under also. I keep hoping to get down to the cities and see you and your mom, but something always seems to come up. I'll keep trying anyway. Take care all of you, and you guys are an inspiration for all of us. Love Jan

Hi, Andy
I know it's been a while since I sent some thoughts your way but want you to know we are still pulling for you and are delighted with every bit of progress you make. Keep up the good work - I know you must have days when it seems like it is going slow, but each little step you make is on your way to a complete recovery. It was wonderful to hear about the doctor in PA, what a positive thing to see the therapy she did actually read out on the machines so you could see the improvement. Surely more great things will happen on that end. Keep up the good work, remember we travel the road of life one step at a time!

The stands are full and we're cheering YOU on. Other stands and couches will be full today and we'll see how your prediction turns out. Sending a bucket of love you way - pass it on.
