I highly doubt you remember me, I'm Shaye. I was friends with Emerald when she went to Carkenord, I was in her fifth grade class, along with our friend, Rebecca. Every year on March 12, even though I have since moved out of state and talk to Rebecca about once a year, Rebecca and I make sure to have a conversation about Emerald, whether it be by phone, Facebook, Email, or text message, we do. We want you to know that she will always be in our hearts and we plan on doing the same thing every March 12. Forever. So, I just wanted to let you know that we remember her and we'll always remember her, and even though we only knew her for a little while, we will always remember her and how awesome she was.

My dearest Emma,
Not a day goes by where you aren't in my thoughts- I made it that way by putting all my passwords to everything with your name in them. :) I like to think of you at least once a day if not more. Remembering your life and the love you had for those around you and the humor and joy you brought to all has made it easier for me to get through the day!! You're the biggest inspiration in my life and though I may not have shown it when I was young- I am so proud I got to be your Aunt Lissa. You've helped shape me into a better person as adulthood approached without even being here in person(though I feel you are watching over us everyday). Sometimes however, the fact I can't just see you tomorrow hits me like a ton of bricks- at weird moments too- like in the middle of the night before I sleep. I just start crying and it scares John but he knows how important you were/are to me. And sometimes I need to grieve over the facts- that I wasn't there as much as I should've been and wish I would've been- that I miss you so much and that I won't get to see you again till it's my turn. :*( I wish we all could've seen what a wonderful young teen you would've been right now and it's so unfair that you aren't... but I'm so glad you're not in any more pain and you get to be our guardian angel. I love you so much and miss you all the time- keep up the good work of watching over all of us. :)
Kim- you may not read this for a while if ever but- I wanted to say- your new additions to the family (Eliza and Janai) are beautiful and I'm glad to see everyone's doing well. I think about you often and wonder how you are. And though you already know- you were/are an amazing mother and I'm glad Emma got to have you as hers. I know in my heart no one else could've done a more amazing job at making a beautiful,humoress,polite,charming,intelligent girl. Thank you-from the bottom of my heart- for raising Em so well and being her everything. Sorry I wasn't there enough... it's something that haunts me all the time. But if you don't already know- I'm doing much better coming into adulthood and that's mostly due to Em- she showed many people strength comes from within and you have to take life as it comes and live it to the fullest everyday. :)

Hello there! Wondering how you are doing. So sad not to get an update on you all but I am just hoping that means you are doing very well and focusing on your sweet family! Strangely enough, like the woman in the guestbook entry before me, I have also followed Olivia Thompson for a long time, too, and discovered that I cannot access it. That is so odd. How is Wendy doing? Please give us an update. Emerald was one of the VERY first darling children I came across in her fight against cancer and I will NEVER forget her. I am so sorry.

I have checked your site off and on for a long time now, each time HOPING you'd posted. I've really missed hearing from you. I've prayed for you to have a healthy baby and I'm SO HAPPY to see her beautiful smiling face! She is just ADORABLE! (I've been having baby-fits for a while now... can't seem to get the hubby on the same page.) =-) Anya, Ian, and Janai are beautiful too!

I really wanted to call you several times but wondered if you'd think I was crazy. It's funny how "close" we can feel to people that we meet online. One of my very best friends and I actually met through caringbridge. Anyway, with losing Brent I think I can identify with the pain you've felt and would love to be here for you if you ever need to talk. The same goes for your sister. I know you've also miscarried and there is NOTHING like a sister when you need to talk! All the same, I'm here for you if you need me!

On a different note.. I've started "blogging." I've had only a few negative instances on caringbridge, but they were enough that it's made me do a lot of second guessing with what I say. I feel much more freedom to ramble on my own site. I do NOT want to take anything away from Brent's site so that kind of helped to make up my mind about updating elsewhere. (I'm still going to keep his site up - at least for a while)

I'm SURE you are NOT dealing with a lot of extra time these days but I did want to let you know how much I've enjoyed it in case you wanted to try it too. Not because of anything you've done or haven't done here... just because as a fellow mom who's also lost a child to cancer I'm enjoying doing it myself. I would love to hear more from you and to see as many pictures as you'd like to post. (I've put quite a few on mine and have only posted like 7 times. LOL!) HOWEVER, I'm NOT meaning to pressure you into doing anything else. Just sharing what I've discovered. My blog is nason5.blogspot.com if you'd like to visit. (I recently posted about what the Bible has to say about death and eternity - a friend shared an AMAZING illustration and used scripture to explain what he was saying. It really gave me peace knowing how much BETTER off our babies are. That's NOT TO SAY we shouldn't miss them... it just calmed my spirit.

Okay.. one more question... the other little girl, Janai, did you adopt her? Is this the little girl you were keeping for your friend? She's a beauty too!

I suppose I've kept you long enough. I just wanted to say hello and let you know how much you've been missed! Please let me know if you ever do start blogging. I'd LOVE to "meet you there." =-)
