Just found out today about Hayden and the wonderful progress she is making. I think my wife and I met Hayden at the National Zoo a couple years ago as the Zavareei's were walking through there. Wasn't it you Natalie? There haven't been too many multiple birth mothers I've been teaching at the Dental School. Now I've found this site, I'm going to keep track of Hayden's progress and make sure Mom is doing an A+ job. Maybe we could meet up at the Zoo again someday!

I've been checking in on you, but I just haven't signed in. Well, I decided that tonight was the night to say hello! I just moved to Charlotte and started a nurse practitioner job, so I won't be able to see you when you come to Duke for your next checkup. Well, it's about time! You girls are just too cute for words! I loved seeing the pictures and reading about all the great things happening in Maryland and points beyond!
I am so proud of all of your hard work, Hayden! Mom and Dad, too! I am thinking of all of you so often, and hope that this fall proves to be the best yet!!! Hayden -,in preparation for Halloween, you HAVE to get your mother to buy you the book, Tailypo, by Joanna Galdone (I think that's her name). It is the best book EVER, and you and your sisters will love it! And since your mother is an ol' Sampson County girl, she should be able to read the dialect with expertise. If not, I will read it to you over the phone! So, Natalie, you must go get this book. It will be a family treasure for years to come! We are very busy at the hospital. I am working with a cute boy from Maryland whose mom knows all of you. I showed them the necklace you gave me Hayden, which I still wear all of the time! Kate is in school now at UNCW, and we hope she remembers to go to class and stay off of the beach. Allison is a junior this year and playing tennis this fall. I played a lot of tennis this summer and joined a league this fall. I'm addicted! I am going to my 30 year high school reunion this weekend, so I need to end this so I can go color my gray hair, and find a hip outfit to wear!

I just read the update from Charles Byrd on Hayden in our weekly newsletter from TNT. I am participating in the Nike Women's Marathon in Oct. I am running for my husband who had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and is doing fine now. I am also running for my godchild Matt who also had a cord blood transplant from Dr.K 9 years ago. He just turned 16 and is doing great! I'm sure Hayden will continue to do wonderful!

It's about time you guys gave us the opportunity to hear about all the good things happening with Hayden, et.al! I was about to make a phone call and check on you guys, but thought I should give you yet another "grace period"! Hayden, I am so very proud of you and all of your accomplishments. It is also rare to hear of someone your age who is poised and confident enough to speak to 400 people! Not that I ever doubted your potential, sweetie!
I am thrilled you and Jordan were able to enjoy a week of camp, and I know you are probably already dreaming about next year's return. I am sorry you are having to travel to CA so frequently, Hassan. Guess it gets a bit tiring and I know you miss the gang. Natalie, I know you are busy being the phenomenal mom you have always been. How are the animals, and how is Izzie? I have had a relaxing summer and have taken up tennis. I am embarrasingly addicted, and am trying to figure out how I can squeeze it in to my busy school year schedule, which is rapidly approaching. As soon as I get Kate off to UNCW I will be returning to work and will begin taking my own class the end of Aug. Kate's roomate is from Gaithersburg, Md. Not too far from you guys. I spent some time there when Greg was working in Maryland. Have you guys made a trip to Sampson County this summer? I am sure it might be nicer to visit in the fall since things get pretty toasty around here during July, August and Sept. Remember? Please give yourselves a big hug from me, and Hayden I can't wait to see the new pictures! No doubt, you will be absolutely cute as a blue speckled pup in all of the pics!
